    Because the manufacturer says you can tow 3.5T doesn’t mean you should. Any responsible road user shouldn’t do that

    Love the description of the car as a "platform". And it's a great platform to begin personalising for your use.

    I pulled 8,900 lbs with a 1500lb weight distribution and pulled 85and above on the Infiniti qx80. I wish I could get the exhaust in the states. Too quiet. Btw the patrol, armada etc is perfect. Buy a USA gmc Denali and have it break down all the time.

    Thanks very much for the update on the 62.
    Was very true everything you said there still the best around all round 4wd.
    The American trucks are great but you just can’t fit down the off road tracks.
    That V8 has proven itself time & time again.
    Thanks for being honest safe travels Cheers

      Thanks for the kind words mate. I agree, very versatile car! Those American things are way too massive for our tracks, very well suited to towing though.

    Everything you said is true. I purchased the same car you have, there will be no change from $30k to get it up to a decent spec for off-road vanning. Love it though.....

      You could say that about any car. Spending 30k on accessories on any car will make it “ better” well maybe. You spending 30k on the patrol doesn’t prove it’s a capable car. To me it shows the car isn’t capable

      @@Chris-sf2cp people spend that money on Toyota's, Patrols, all dual cabs. By your logic none of them work and would make Toyota the worst considering its 30k dearer to buy so fully built Y62 or stick 200-300 series.. Patrol all day long plus petrol V8.. cheaper to run also..

    It’s a bit irresponsible to tell people it can tow 3.5 tonnes straight out of the box a mate of mine with wife and 3 teenage boys new rims like yours with 295/70/18 tyres times 5 (+75 kgs) a snorkel a towball and tongue brake controller and when he put the caravan on with 305 kg towball weight he was overloaded by some way he was very disappointed you must tell people that with a full tank of fuel and the towball the kerb weight of the ti version comes in at around 2850 kg and has been times where people have put on scales with just that and come in at 2900 kg by the time you put 350 towball load you are only left with around 300 kgs with out anyone or anything else on the car that is way to close no margin for error and you can’t get a gcm upgrade either and if you get a gvm upgrade that doesn’t help either because you still can only gcm of 7000 unless the gcm upgrade is a option now not when I was looking. Another thing is people struggle to get a 295/70/18 back under for the spare but I believe 285/70/18 fit fine. So if it’s just 2 of you you may get away with tyre and rim upgrade maybe a front bar and snorkel but if you are using it for off-roading bash plates and recovery points may need to be added as a minimum there is so much to take in it’s so easy to go overweight so deciding what the car is being used for is the number one priority so you can work from there look forward to see which way you take the y62

    • @WLD62
      @WLD62  Год назад

      While I do always stress you should never exceed safe weight limits of your vehicle and should upgrade the car to ensure it is as safe and capable as possible. They will tow it easily enough and lots of people do. Safety and knowing your weights is key!

      Horse floats runs on ethanol 95 for 4years 120ks never paid more for fuel than diesel up to 50c cheaper from time to time. Unmodified no issues at all, got 45ks out of all 4 of the original tyres, no scrubbing, New tyres are the same, no egr issues like previous cars.

    So basically this is a mall crawler, and to do anything with the vehicle you need to upgrade everything.
    They cant tow a 2 ton van without airbags as no solid axle in the rear, so makes it very difficult. Was a stupid design tbh.

    The Y62 and Y63 are shit, I prefer the GQ and GU, so easy to work on and repair in the scrub or when servicing is required.
    My dad had a G60 with a 265 Chrysler hemi.

      @WLD62  2 года назад

      I understand they're not everyone's cup of tea and I certainly agree the GQ's and GU's are simple and easy to work on. G60 with a Hemi, very cool!

      @@WLD62 The reason I don't like the 62 and 63 are because there is no diesel option, it has independent suspension all round and the amount of electronics and computers to malfunction.
      But I do like a V8.
