  • How to fix your metabolism….👇🏼
    You can’t lose weight, even though you’re eating healthy and do tons of training? 😩
    Don’t worry your metabolism isn’t broken❗️
    The issue for most people is, that they get really excited and motivated in the first place and start with too big of a deficit. While a caloric deficit is required to lose bodyfat, we want to make sure that the deficit is not too extreme. Because your body will be in an emergency state and tries to protect you from that “famine”. 🚨 The last thing your body wants to do is burning energy very fast, instead it conserves energy to survive. 🪫 How can we fix it❓No, not with ginger. ❌I mean that healthy but won’t fix your metabolic
    adaptations. Keep the deficit moderate, implement diet breaks and if you’re already at a
    point of extreme yo-yo dieting, take a break and increase your calories step by step to let your
    metabolism recover first. 🔋

      well shes not right at all, you dont go on a caloric deficit, one way to loose weight to eat high calorie foods but healthy, if you want to loose weight eat only 100 percent whole foods and dont avoid red meat, avoid seed oils and pufas as much as possible and get optimal nutrition like glycine, collagen, k2, magnesium, calcium, b1, b12, also dont do cardio but lift weights or do HIT

      That's because the "big deficit slows your metabolism" is BS. If you've fat, your body will not "conserve" energy... it has plenty to use, hence fat loss.

      Try a vegan or plant based diet for about 2-3 months. Include lots of plant fiber. The more variety of plants you eat the better. Pick things like brown rice, brown pasta, organic oats and potatoes with skin on when eating. Do not eat meat within the time you want to lose weight! I was able to lose 2 stone in 2 months thanks to this. If you want to lose more just keep it going. Good luck

      In addition to Srindal’s comment when you start incorporating more healthy calories, I suggest you look into a calorie calculator (website). Not always accurate, but usually the “maintain weight” amount should still help you lose weight. If not within a few weeks, go down to the “mild weight loss” amount but I wouldn’t go any below.
      When you immediately start eating more when you’re in “starvation mode” you can expect to gain a few pounds, but if you’re still eating right, it should be just temporary water weight and you’re most likely to lose it in a few days.

    I’m currently in the process of fixing what take-out in the first few months of my relationship and almost daily drinking has done to my body by starting with replacing alcohol with nonalcoholic replacements (pomegranate juice, ginger tea, and nonalcoholic White Claws). I’m also ADDING green smoothies before dinner & before post-dinner snacking, as well as replacing processed snacks with huge carrots (I primarily snack/drink out of boredom).

    As far as I know, this is not the current state of knowledge. The instance I'm aware of where such an effect could be shown in a study was in an experiment where men had to work really hard and got very limited sorts of food. Even then their weight reduced according to the calory deficit down to a point where their fat percentage got really really low. At that point they really lost less weight than expected, because the body started to shut down organs. Saving energy is a pretty abstract term, but a reduced metablism means, that your body does not function properly any more. It has been said that this study was more a starving experiment than any regular diet experiment.
    That having said, getting the weight one desires is more than biology only and maybe for some it may help to work with a moderate deficit and breaks. But for everyone, who prefers an approach with faster results, this is totally fine as long as the fat percentage is not already very low and of course as long as you make sure you get enough protein and vitamins, so maintaing a bigger deficit really is additional work. It should also be kept in mind, that a body with less weight needs less calories day by day so it will not work to keep the new weight if the diet is completly different from the eating habits of before the diet and after it one just returns to the old ones.
    So there really are a lot of adventage for a more moderate approach but diets with a big deficit and even yo-yo diets don't ruin your metabolism.
    Of course in case someone thinks they might have trouble with the whole eating topic of any kind, it's always good to see a psychologist.

    • @MarieSteffen
      @MarieSteffen  Год назад +5

      I totally agree with you! My message of this video is for (especially) women that have a history of Yo-Yo and black and white thinking. There weight loss stalls because they can’t find an approach that they can adhere to for long enough. Many women also think they need to suffer in order to lose weight and Just don’t know it better because tracing apps tell them (for eg a over 170cm tall women that’s very active) to eat 1200 cal. These scenarios I had with tons of clients and they were losing weight just in the same speed (even faster because they where more adherent and had more energy for their training) with a less extreme deficit. So why going lower than necessary. Also I do look for a certain rate of weight loss so we are not just aiming for losing „weight“ but mainly losing body fat and want to KEEP muscle tissue.

    • @pi-1089
      @pi-1089 Год назад

      @@MarieSteffen Thank you for your interesting response! What is funny is, that we're coming from kind of the same place, I think: don't having it more difficult than necessary. I know people that think, gaining and losing weight is a very mystical system and they feel powerless and therefore don't even try to change anything in fear of "breaking" their metabolism. I think I totally get now who you are talking to, though and that your approach is very helpful especially in these situations.
      I generally really like your videos. I don't watch every single one, but they catch me every now and then in a low and get me motivated again. Thank you very much for your work!

    At what point tho it’s extreme. I’ve been on a caloric deficit for 3 weeks now with 2 meals a day for roughly 1000calories. I also did around 10k steps every day for roughly burning 700calories and alternating exercise day and sport day (basketball for 1hour effectively) for roughly 200-300 calories, and spend the day normally. So roughly I(kinda) burn out much of the calories I’ve eaten every day. I’ve started weigh myself around for 9 days now and I’ve lost around 2,5kg weight during those nine days. I was at 102,0 now im at 99,35. is it too harsh? Normal? Or too slow?

    • @08marliesm96
      @08marliesm96 7 месяцев назад

      Normally a guideline is no more than 500 calorie deficit per day over a longer period of time (so let's say you want to shed a lot of weight and plan a diet for 6 or so months, you don't average over 500 calories deficit per day). For shorter diets it could be more (let's say you want to shed only few kg/pounds and debt for a month).
      But that's only a guideline and always varies depending on your body, what you are doing an eating.
      Also, if you exercise a lot, especially muscle building activities, keep in mind your body does need energy (calories) and protein for it. Takes longer for weightloss, but it's more sustainable in the long run.
      If your weightloss averages between 0.5 and 1 kg per week, you're amazingly successful. In the beginning it tends to be more, partly due to watertight but also bc your weight is higher and as such burns more calories and your metabolism has not caught up yet.
