Yes, there are decided differences in Southern and New England decor. But you go about your days taking pleasure in the small things, and adding charming, elegant touches to the otherwise mundane. That's gracious living, no matter the geography. I look forward to each and every video, especially your travel videos such as the one in Maine, where you take us on strolls with you, just looking at homes, landscaping, and neighborhoods -- my lifelong favorite pass time.

I have a different but similar experience except I didn't have ants I had a squirrel! I left a couple of sheet pans full of peanut butter cookies to cool by my open kitchen window, a squirrel chewed through the screen and into our kitchen!😳🐿️ My husband had to catch it ,l ran upstairs ☺️

That summer cottage is gorgeous but, can you imagine driving on that in the winter? It would have to be paved. Springbrook Farm Country Store is awesome! I travel to Boston to check on my elderly mother and stop at all the best places along the way, this is one of my favorites, it’s only 40 minutes from my house. I get lost in places like that…lol There are a few shops I love to get lost in, Serendipity House in Peterborough, NH, The Cozy Cottage in Troy, NH, Turning Leaf Consignment in Keene, NH, Willow Brook in Westmoreland, NH and right down the street, Jingles Christmas Shop. It’s my jam…lol
The house was beautiful architecture. Sorry it wasn't your unicorn house! But it is fun to search with you! I am going to try the ice cream recipe. I have lavender in my garden I can harvest! Look forward to seeing your next video!
We had lavender ice cream at a lavender farm festival in Skaneateles, NY, it was delish! We love all things lavender 😉 Favorite herb blend for poultry is herbs de Provence also!

lol I ALWAYS eat a handful of chocolate chips when I bake with them!! They definitely added food coloring to their ice cream to give it that color!!! I love lavender and I had lavender honey which I did not like but I’d try this ice cream. It looks delicious!!! I’m going to make this!!!
I made similar using fresh lemon verbena. It was so delightful! I think I would love the lavender maybe with those rolled up cigar shaped sugar cookies (can't recall the name 🙄) anyhow... Also I love your halter top--the color and style, looks so summery and you've got such a nice tan! Also just gotta add, loved that cottage and the shopping tour!! You're always so much fun and have great taste in everything you do!!
So I have lived in New England my whole life and never been to a Dairy Queen- did not know they had them here!! When I grew up it was Howard Johnson’s and friendly’s for ice cream😊. Another lovely video!!!

We have Dairy Queen here in the Hudson Valley , New York. They sell Orange Julius there which is another nostalgic place I used to take my kids when they were little at the mall. Love me some Orange Julius! A little tip about storing whipped cream, Always use a glass container if you don’t want it to go flat. I used to hate when I had leftover whipped cream, put it in a plastic container and the next morning it looked just like when I poured it out of the container. Then I read that the plastic is what was causing it to do that.
Now that is a place I could get behind. It needs lots of work but what a beauty It is. I would hope we could see the inside. Love the shop you visited also.

I enjoyed this, as always. The ice cream looks good. I'm a fan of culinary lavender. I've made cookies with it. What a pretty shop. I have a favorite in my area that has a greenhouse on one side and a shop with so many pretty things on the other.
Linda, I love your vlogs. You have such a great personality and your hilarious at times. May I ask if anyone else has issues with the text on the videos? I have to rewind, pause and then read the text . (I'm old so its rewind like a VHS tape!!🙄😂) Maybe its because i am old but the white text on the white cabinets and white mixture in in the bowls...I just gave up reading most of the text. I guess its easier to put in text than to do voice over but I wish you would consider voice over....please. It would make it easier at least for this old woman 😍. Thanks!!

Definitely lots of Dairy Queen's in Canada for as long as I can remember, and I'm 70! The first job my teenage daughters had were at Dairy Queen, and my granddaughter's as well! Great starting point in learning to deal with the public, and lots of fun making all the ice cream treats! :) I found it interesting that you never liked the smell of lavender and that it was an acquired 'smell'! I've never liked it either.....perhaps I should have tried harder! lol Really enjoyed the video. Thank you. :) ~~M~~

Don’t feel bad about not having the lavender color, Linda. I’ve made a few batches of lavender ice cream and it never retained the lavender color for me either. I bet a food stylist recommended adding a little food coloring to the photographed ice cream.
Hello Linda, DQ in Slidell Louisiana Decatur Alabama so they seem to be still open everywhere. The ice cream looks tasty. I purchased all of the items last night at the store. Lowe’s had lavender to grow. I purchased it 3 different times. It said full sun keep moist. It was like it was baking in my raised bed. Purchased second time kept it on by back porch still has sun. It died. I gave up. Tried growing from seeds never sprouted. I cannot grow lavender. Glad you stated they do not ship. Thank you for the lovely video. Ps Hello Willow

Linda to prevent your tastes tester from acquiring a feast. Leave in a bowl surrounded by water that is deep. They have not learnt to swim. Please a cheese cloth over the top to prevents diving flies.😉😇
I liked the music you chose for the gift shop tour. The home one not so much. I had to turn it down, which is fine but I find music with lyrics are distracting. Calming instrumental is nicer. JMO. I enjoy your channel.

I enjoyed this, as always. The ice cream looks good. I'm a fan of culinary lavender. I've made cookies with it. What a pretty shop. I have a favorite in my area that has a greenhouse on one side and a shop with so many pretty things on the other.

Linda, I love your vlogs. You have such a great personality and your hilarious at times. May I ask if anyone else has issues with the text on the videos? I have to rewind, pause and then read the text . (I'm old so its rewind like a VHS tape!!🙄😂) Maybe its because i am old but the white text on the white cabinets and white mixture in in the bowls...I just gave up reading most of the text. I guess its easier to put in text than to do voice over but I wish you would consider voice over....please. It would make it easier at least for this old woman 😍. Thanks!!
You are not alone, sorry. There are times I am last minute editing and want to add a bit extra and visually I don't like the small black background text at the bottom. I will try to work on that though since I too realize it's hard to read. Thank you for you input!!!!

Definitely lots of Dairy Queen's in Canada for as long as I can remember, and I'm 70! The first job my teenage daughters had were at Dairy Queen, and my granddaughter's as well! Great starting point in learning to deal with the public, and lots of fun making all the ice cream treats! :) I found it interesting that you never liked the smell of lavender and that it was an acquired 'smell'! I've never liked it either.....perhaps I should have tried harder! lol Really enjoyed the video. Thank you. :) ~~M~~

@@newenglandfineliving Hi 😃I finally made the lavender ice cream and it was very good.🤗 Mine did not have a purple color either . I looked on line at other recipes for it and some o f them said to put a purple gel food coloring in it. I'll just enjoy mine with out. Thanks again for the recipe.

Don’t feel bad about not having the lavender color, Linda. I’ve made a few batches of lavender ice cream and it never retained the lavender color for me either. I bet a food stylist recommended adding a little food coloring to the photographed ice cream.

Hello Linda, DQ in Slidell Louisiana Decatur Alabama so they seem to be still open everywhere. The ice cream looks tasty. I purchased all of the items last night at the store. Lowe’s had lavender to grow. I purchased it 3 different times. It said full sun keep moist. It was like it was baking in my raised bed. Purchased second time kept it on by back porch still has sun. It died. I gave up. Tried growing from seeds never sprouted. I cannot grow lavender. Glad you stated they do not ship. Thank you for the lovely video. Ps Hello Willow
Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that. Lavender is drought tolerant. I rarely need to water mine. Too much water can cause root rot on them.

I liked the music you chose for the gift shop tour. The home one not so much. I had to turn it down, which is fine but I find music with lyrics are distracting. Calming instrumental is nicer. JMO. I enjoy your channel.
