- It's Camden, Maine home decor store tour time! Say that 10 times fast! We took a New England vacation for our five year anniversary so I thought I would also take you on a private hotel tour and show you some of the design touches inside of the resort. We stayed in a luxury oceanfront cottage, in the middle of a golf course, at the Samoset Resort, in Rockport, Maine. While I'm at it, I will take you on a short exterior home tour, garden tour, and a walk down the Rockland Breakway to the the lighthouse.
The reason for. my home and lifestyle videos... I believe fine living and happiness begins within ourselves and at home. My goal is to help you find your own version of fine living, no matter how simple or grand that may be, no matter where you live. It's so funny but it just shows how strong our Sense of smell is. If you ever smelled a peonies it sticks with you forever. I can smell the one in the car with you. That and a magnolia you never forget. Thanks so much for bringing us along.

Thank you for the beautiful, calm, refreshing visit to Maine. As a native Floridian, I've always thought Maine was too chilly for a visit, however, I would go just to see the amazing antique wicker tables, tea cart, and chairs in Leslie Curtis Designs' shop!
It does depend on the time of year. Late July and early August is a great time to visit Maine for true hot (more so constant) weather.

I love Rockport and Camden Maine. We used to go to visit Maine ( Boothbay Harbor) every summer from Ontario Canada for about 20 years until Covid came along. We visited so many charming stores, antique stores and wonderful restaurants. We visited everywhere along the coast and it is my favourite place to be. I love the ocean and have lots of sea glass and antique treasures from the lovely areas. I think I know every store in Camden, Rockport and Boothbay Harbor and made friends with people we would see every year. Your video has made me so happy especially when I heard the sound of the ocean touching the shore and you picked up the heart shaped sea glass. I could almost smell the sea air. Thank you!

Hi Linda...I’m a born Mainer and live on the southern Maine coast. Very familiar with the Rockland and Camden areas. Love everything about those areas. You picked a great resort!

Maine us one of my very favorite places! Went there as a child and stayed on the coast in a cottage by Bar Harbour. It stuck with me and I vacationed there as a young adult. I would love to take my kids there someday.💗😊

A wonderful getaway destination! So many cute shops.
Such a lovely place to visit. I offered myself a week-end getaway in Rockport, Mass in 2018 for my 60th birthday. All the way from Canada. Lodged at the Bearskin Neck Motor Lodge with a balcony right on the sea from my room! Only thing missing was a glass of wine while enjoying the view. I didn't know it was a dry town until I got there. Enjoy your stay !

Lovely travelogue! We moved from Boston to Coastal Maine last year. It’s paradise. Even the winter was gorgeous. I ❤️ Maine.
We have greatly consider the coast of Maine for retirement over the years. This past visit made us think about it even more. May I ask what area you are in?
@@newenglandfineliving Hi! We’re actually in Windham about 15 min from Portland, which we love and 10 min from Lake Sebago - also gorgeous. We bought a reproduction of the Gov Trumbull house in CT. It’s 25 years old but feels 200, in a good way! Acre of land surrounded by conservation but in a nice neighborhood so not isolated. Good luck with your search! (Cape Elizabeth is wonderful with many antiques but out of our price range.)

Mid Coast Maine, especially Rockland and Camden, is one my favorite places to visit. We live in NH so it’s not too far and we go at least once or twice a year. There is so much to do and the restaurants are wonderful. There is an awesome Botanical Garden called Mid Coast Maine Botanical Garden about 45 minutes south of Rockland in Boothbay. It’s been named one of the best in the country. Even if you’re not a gardener it’s a fun place to visit.

Oh yes! I love The Botanical Garden! We stay in Boothbay each year. We are heading that way this fall.
I loved watching this video. My husband and I have been to Camden and Rockport twice. We made it out the breakwater to the lighthouse on the second visit. The first time we tried, it was very windy and we only made it halfway before we turned back, lol. Your video makes me want to visit again.
I can't even imagine going out there in the wind!!! I'd be crawling back on my hands and knees for fear of being blown over into the water. LOL
Such a beautiful area of our country Linda. Thank you for sharing it! My visits to the north have been few and far between even though my ancestors were French Huguenot founding members of New Rochelle, NY and I have had family roots continuously there since the mid 1600’s. I was born and raised in the southern US. In fact, I’m the first generation of my family that wasn’t born in Westchester County New York since they established New Rochelle. I’d truly love to explore more of the Northeast to trace my roots further and take in the beauty and history of all of this part of our country. Thanks to you, I get to at least do it through your channel until I get there again in person! Susan

Two years ago we visited Maine and one of our stops for a couple of days was Rockport on our way down from Acadia - did the breakwater walk and loved it! I used to live in CT and Maine was one of my fav states to visit. Visited Camden and saw the beautiful view from above and walked the downtown area. Wished I knew about the home decor stores but I didn’t “know” you then 😂. This video makes me want to go back! Thanks Linda for the delightful tour. Mandy fromTucson🌵
