Linda, I Love when you gave your diagnosis that was too funny. Iam 58 and I hear you friend. Iam also trying since the New Year I’ve only lost 3 pounds lol. But like you said Iam just trying to eat very healthy and if on Saturday I want a glass of wine I will have it. Life is too short, yes eat healthy but in moderation. Great video like always. I might make your bread pudding for 🐣 Easter....
2020 and 2021 we seek comfort in our surroundings. I find that in food, bread pudding and chicken pot pie are prime examples. I love both thanks for sharing! :-)
Thank you Linda, lovely presentation. I make a bread pudding that my mother also made when I was growing up in Australia. I often substitute the vanilla for some Grand Marnier which tastes scrumptious and makes the kitchen smell heavenly! Re Spring...well not quite yet up here in NH. The wind is howling and it is only about 8 out but watching your video with my great big wood stove going here in the kitchen in our 250 year old home, I'm as snug as a bug!
Linda you are hysterical!!!! I too suffer from mouth openupustoomuchous too!!!!! Love this recipe I am the same age and going through menopause :( and have gained 10 pounds I do very well in the off winter months so hoping to get back on track once spring hits!!!!!
Linda, your recipe looks delicious. I can relate to weight gain after menopause. I'm 5'2 and kept my weight in the mid 130's until I hit 40, then it continued to creep upwards. At age 52 I developed dyshidrotic eczema, I began to food journal and discovered all my trigger foods. Two years ago my weight was 150, today I am at 130. Cutting out night-shades was a game changer. I miss tomato and tomato sauce dishes most of all.
Funny Lady! I too am 5’1” and can sympathize! If I make your bread pudding I’ll just eat it all! Thanks Linda you are a treasure! One thing my mom always said, ‘ the best exercise is pushing away from the table’ !🥰
I am from Pennsylvania German country and I never had bread Pudding until I was at a church outing about 40 years later. It was delicious. I took down your recipe and I'll try it. Thanks
What a pretty presentation with the basket and whip cream and pretty bowl. Looks so delicious. Love the way you go through all the steps, so easy to follow.💕
I made bread pudding for a family Christmas party one year. The recipe came from Mothers Restaurant in New Orleans. It had fruit cocktail in it. Talk about sweet and rich! I also made a big pot of seafood gumbo.
omg.. I want bread pudding. I make mine in individual ramekins as it seems to make a crispier top... and I use warmed caramel sauce with a little added bourbon for kick
I have the issue you have. LOL. Love food, love baking and eating too! I too am watching what I eat but we do need comfort food now and then. Just enjoy and be happy 😃
My mom always made bread pudding...it was inexpensive and she always had those ingredients on hand...I love making it and using different artisan or homemade breads. I am loving your kitchen...so bright and beautiful!
I worked with a lady many years ago that made it, it was so good, and I've never had it the same since. This looks just like it though! My grandma made it with raisins that was also incredible!
OMG! Definitely going to make this, take a bite and run it to a friends home......lol. So easy and looks delicious !! Another fun video.....Love to watch you in your beautiful kitchen baking these wonderful recipes.....Thank you!!
The bread pudding looks wonderful. I do low carb since I have the same affliction. I think I will try making it substituting low carb bread and heavy cream. Maybe add cinnamon. I'll let you know if it works. You are a good friend to share such a yummy dessert.
Your bread pudding looks so good . I will have to make that for sure. I have put on some weight since all the COVID started. Seems like I cook and bake a lot more even though we aren’t entering in our home. I try to give a lot to family and friends but of course I have to try it to make sure it is good. Lol .
Hi Linda, i appreciate the fact you print some of your words on the screen sometimes …… that’s cool 👍 hope your allergy get better. Thank you for your receipe , sounds good
Oh my goodness. I’ve never made a bread pudding but my husband loves it. I may try your recipe Linda. Thank you for sharing the recipe😊. Oh and your friend Liz very lucky😊
Loooolllll I have the same disease...and I have started a healthier diet and more gym as of 1 of March! I would love to taste your bread pudding, Linda!
I miss southern living at home . I have that casserole dish in yellow and it is deceiving how much it actually holds. At least now I know your recipe will fit
I always enjoy your videos! You look taller than 5'1 and you look great! I love bread pudding and want to try your mom's recipe. My sister makes one without eggs cause she's allergic, it's delicious. She always tells me she doesn't have a recipe, she just throws stuff in. She sticks random bread and rolls in the freezer until she has enough--i do know that much. Anyhow, thank you and I love your channel!! 💚💚💚
You're correct about restaurant bread pudding. It always is firm and cut in squares. Funny the best I've ever had came from a buffet. Kinda soupy with raisins. My husband does not like buffets so I would take my kids to get my bread pudding fix.
Good morning Linda it’s Saturday morning for me and I was watching your video this morning on the bread pudding and my mom used to make a bread pudding and I’ve been making it I’m the only one that makes it because my sister does not and she’s older LOL but I did basically what you have done except that we use regular bread and we added raisins to it some of my children don’t like it with raisins so I don’t if I don’t have to I also put a stick of butter in it melted for that extra bad stuff that we should not indulge too much. Other than that bread pudding is a wonderful delicious comforting food specially in the winter. Because of watching you make it I’m going to make some for tomorrow for my family that are coming for dinner I will have another dessert but these will be for the adults and I will serve it with fresh whipped cream that I will make I also forgot just before I pop it out of the oven I add a little bit a maple syrup to give it a glossy look on top!!Thank you so much love watching your videos you have a blessed day now I’m gonna watch the one with cleaning the silver which I have to do myself
Thank you so much Linda!!! I think this weekend I am going to have this for a brunch with my family and some hot chai tea!!!! Yummy!!!💕 Oh, and I made a homemade chicken pot pie for a friend at work last week! 👍
You should try it with regular bread and add some cranberries. It is also delicious. With all that is happening during this pandemic time, we need to be able to indulgence ourself with confort food. I simply go for a longer walk.
This looks delish! Linda, had a bit of trouble hearing you but the dishes came through loud and clear! You seem a bit subdued today, as for the weight; don't know what you are worried about, you always look good. Thanks for the shots of your containers, really enjoyed seeing them. Best wishes.
Sounds delicious! I have never made bread pudding. Please tell me about your juicer. I’m juicing oranges for fresh squeezed juice every morning, thanks to your inspiration.
I agree with how you made the pudding in your video by combining all ingredients; then adding the bread vs. adding each ingredient separately to the bread. Do you soak the bread in water for a more pudding vs. cakelike texture? Yummy--with vanilla ice cream, too.
I have that same disease when it comes to pizza and desserts, which is why I don’t bake as much anymore. I just can’t eat one brownie I have to eat the whole freaking pan until it’s gone. I make bread pudding too! I use Panettone bread, delish! I just turned 70 and it seems it gets harder to loose the extra pounds the older you get because I’m 5’4” and have been battling it since I turned 50. You are not alone!
Do we have snow on the way today ? I’m close to your area , we are having the worst winds last night & today bringing temps down below 20 degrees w/ wind chill . I’m still recovering from Covid and it’s a long recuperation , for me going on two weeks . Maybe I can push through making some pudding , I don’t know . We do have all ingredients but even getting up and about is hard.
I’m the same height as you and I always eat the Keto way..it’s brilliant. Your bread pudding looks great but would be a no no for me. Would make it for a pressie.
im 5'2" and have lost 28 lbs since last April ! .... doing low carb diet.... i dont eat no more than 55 carbs PER MEAL ... and really surprisingly i dont miss eating the way i used to do ! .... loss slowly and you can keep lbs off ! im 64
what a wonderful recipe! I have never had bread pudding! I have a gal that I work with, her brother makes it with leftover bread all of the time! and girl.... I have you beat! I am now, it seems, since I seem to be losing inches of height, (not width) 4'9 I have always been 4'9 1/2! and I know what you mean about being short and it showing way more! but where can it go? definitely to much openmouthshovelstuffinitis! loved the vid! xoxo
I've never have tried bread pudding. Maybe I'll give it a try , just a smaller amount 🙂 I'm 5' 10" and skinny all my life, my nickname is Tig short for Twiggy, but l know that some of my girlfriend's struggle with their weight and my husband has to watch what he eats. We keep to a pretty healthy diet , lots of veggies and fruits, lean protein and light on breads, desserts and dairy, everything in moderation. With my Aussie Doddle Finn, l get my 10.000 steps a day, taking him for his long afternoon walk, sometimes especially in the warmer weather, we can get in 15.000 steps! It's all about a positive attitude towards healthy lifestyle choices and if you have a day that you indulge, the nexted day you reset your eatting to healthy choices again. Your right about staying away from crazy dietes ,slow and steady wins the day!!!! 🙂🍁
Linda, I Love when you gave your diagnosis that was too funny. Iam 58 and I hear you friend. Iam also trying since the New Year I’ve only lost 3 pounds lol. My mother served this with hot cinnamon sauce! Delicious! Thank you for sharing this traditional recipe!

I am a kindred spirit in the diagnosis dept too.
Linda you are hysterical!!!! I too suffer from mouth openupustoomuchous too!!!!! Love this recipe I am the same age and going through menopause :( and have gained 10 pounds I do very well in the off winter months so hoping to get back on track once spring hits!!!!!

I had difficulty hearing too- even using earphones. The presentation in this kitchen makes everything lovely!
The bread pudding looks delicious! I'm 4'11" and sadly suffer from the same affliction! I blame it on covid. What else could it be?😉
SAME diagnosis! 😉
are you sure about the time in oven? 2 hours 350? iwould think that long baking it would burn ?
I have had the same diagnosis! Haha!
Sounds delicious! I have never made bread pudding.
Please tell me about your juicer. I’m juicing oranges for fresh squeezed juice every morning, thanks to your inspiration.

So true.....between the Covid lockdown and winter, it’s been a struggle to keep the weight down
You could never be a sloth dear Muse. We who learn from you and are energised by you, are the sloths.
