Congratulations! Life after Gastric Bypass can be a challenge, but hang in there. I had Gastric Bypass surgery 21 yrs ago. I've suffered w/Osteoarthritis for the last decade & I had no choice but to take NSAIDS & eventually Opioids before having a long overdue hip replacement in 2019. The good news is the NSAIDS didn't cause any issues w/my stomach. I took 3 - 4 doses per week. I'd suggest seeing a Rheumatologist to assist your inflammation/pain management. Once you address those issues you will be able to get back on track. Lastly, I lost 120 lbs to get to goal wgt (& BMI). Today I'm still 110 lbs down despite fluctuations of 10 lbs or so 🤗🙏🏽. You're going to kill it Brother Ty❣💯 Be Blessed 🙌🏽.
Turmeric is great to take as an anti-inflammatory. They have it in pill form. I injured my knee in a car accident some years ago and Turmeric works wonders. One a day keeps the inflammation away!💯
When you say they have turmeric in pill form do you mean supplements?? Do you mean as medication? do you get it from your doctor? Also can u get what ur talkn about frm Walmart
@@cherylmcdaniel397 yeah probably by the vitamins, i think taking the pill is easier than finding an appetizing way to eat the root, as well as the pill is pretty concentrated
Tobias! I had gastric bypass 2012. Have lots of information would like to share. Related on NASAD’s several times. I was 333lbs prior surgery, lowest weight 180, and currently 200. Blessed to be able to eat anything on moderation and not get sick.
You are going to do very well because of your positive attitude. You are following your medical advisers and doing as you should. Still on my prayer list.
The dislikes are the ppl that you addressed when saying, "don't come in the comments talking about what you get the surgery for if you're going to be eating like this," because what would be the reason to dislike a raw informational video??? ❤❤you got this and this too shall pass.
Much love man, the journey sounds rough but stay strong! Lots of obstacles but it sounds like youre holding in there really well, it's gotta get better from here. Keep resting!
Thank you for being so honest. I had my bypass three years ago. I lost over 200 pounds in a year which was awesome, but I was not prepared for all the challenges. I took INSAIDS for a short time because I had such sudden unexpected dental pain it took me to the ER twice. Before my bypass I never took NSAIDS once in 40 years. Ever since I took them I have had gastritis and stomach issues off and on. In the last few years I have had constipation, kidney stones, disk pain in my back, and dental issues. Before my bypass I was over 350 pounds but never had any health issues other than reflux. I am still grateful i was able to lose so much weight but I don't think all the complications are discussed enough. I am cold pretty much 24/7 and the inflammation is not good. I have had severe kidney stone pain three times in two years and I never had a stone before my bypass. I have had three skin removal procedures in the last year and have one left to go.
If you can add liquid turmeric to your daily regiment. Also juicing a key lime and drinking it can help rid the body of mucus . Any alkaline diet additions to your diet could also help. Praying for success in your health journey.🙏🏾🙏🏾
I don’t know you personally but I’m Proud of you ! I had a gastric sleeve 10 years ago and I took Motrin , now I have ulcers., trying to heal . I found out I have a hernia and my surgeon told me if it needs to be repaired I will have to proceed to gastric bypass. I really don’t want to do that so I’m going to try some natural things. Stay positive and look into “the medical medium” . Anti inflammatory diet and/or Dr Sebi diet. That’s what I’m about to do. Sending positive vibrations to you
Good morning Everyone, TY I'm so proud of you and your journey. I,love you and your transparency. May God continue to bless you always 🙏 ♥️🥰 I'm rooting for you & praying for you. Much love and blessings to all.
Hey TY! Congratulations on your surgery! I'm very proud of you for taking that major step. I had the gastric sleeve in 2016. Lost about 120lbs in the first year, but I've gained about 20lbs since then. By all means, follow the diet recommendations of your doctor. Give yourself a little more time before you try anything other that what's suggested. Obviously at this point I can eat what I want, but I still hard to digest beef, sweets and pasta. I drink almond milk, 1cup of coffee daily and lots of water. If I drink juice, I dilute it, and definitely no soda! Regarding exercise, don't beat yourself up! You just had major surgery 2 months ago. Your body is still healing. Do what you can do, and congratulate yourself for doing it, whatever it is! You're doing amazingly well! Patience is the key. Question: Do you attribute your current ailments as side effects of your surgery, or just as a horrible coincidence that happened all at the same time? Take care Friend!
Hey Ty!! I had duenodual switch aka DS surgery in 2019. I was 386 and now I'm 181 lbs. I listened to your video and let me tell you that it will get better just stay with the process. I was on blood pressure medicine prior to my surgery and after surgery I kept taking that blood pressure medicine and of course which was a diuretic, I wasn't drinking and water so I got dehydrated and I had a gout attack in my food. I would suggest a rhuemotogolost, and stay hydrated and stay away from high fructose corn syrup for now. I was in a wheelchair, crutches, and a cane. I cussed and said I should've kept my little fat ass happy but that was at the beginning but now stick with the process. I'm praying for you also take care of your mental health during this process. If it wasn't for mukbang videos, and me laughing with y'all it I don't think I would've made it though this process because in the beginning all I could eat was 5 almonds and half a apple! Be Blessed!!
Hello I had the gastric bypass and every single thing you are going through I mean EVERYTHING u name I suffer from the first year. I'm n my second year and lord behold all of the same issues u have I have had came down to a hidden blood clot. Plz get check for a blood clot they found mines in my left thumb, behind my left knee, behind my right shoulder blade, and a clot in my pelvic area. So now I'm on a very high dose of blood thinners for the rest of my life. And I still can't eat regular food yet . God bless u and thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your experiences. Not very many men reports on there progress. I'm 67 and about 10 lbs from where surgeon wants my weight for sleeve surgery. I have lost around 50 lbs in 4 months intermittent fasting and weighing my food and fluids. Walking 3 miles every other day. My family thinks i should continue my diet and forget about the surgery. I have to admit it is rare to find a man talking about his weight loss journey. They seem to share more negative reaction from results of the surgery. Than positive results. Thankyou for being honest and hope you continue to improve with your health. This surgery is something i fill i have to do for myself.
Damn, Tobs! I'm so sorry to hear you're going through all this! It's inspiring though to see your positive attitude. I feel like if I was going through everything you're going through, I would be in a very negative headspace. I truly hope all your pain goes away soon.

Hello TY🤗🤗🤗 I love your channel. I just started following you 2 weeks ago. Not only is your food DELICIOUS, but you are funny, entertaining, and just give off good vibes...that help me get through my days. And your recipes.....I already hsve my holiday menus planned based off of your recipes.😁😁😁 You stay BLESSED and BEAUTIFUL!!

Hey Ty. First stay positive. Your gonna be fine. I know it seems like u been hit with a bus but believe me it will get better. I'm a living witness. I had the switch 3 years ago and my surgeon told me the same thing about anti inflammatory meds. After having many health issues I had to take some of them in moderation and I was fine with out any problems. You will learn in this journey that u will have to find what works for you & ur body because everyone is different & u will be miserable as hell. Don't get upset without being able exercise just focus on ur diet and u be able to exercise. Listen I'm on this rollercoaster with you and we are gonna enjoy this ride hunni💙.
Everyone in life has one issue or another. The weight issue has never been one of mine but trust me there have been so many other issues I’ve had to contend with 🥲. I want to thank you for sharing and I really feel genuinely happy that you’re on the other side of the journey (HEALING. No more planning, or wondering about the surgery-It is done). I wish you well. You too TY 😘
I got this same surgery at the age of 14 because of an intestinal obstruction. I really don't understand but I put on really healthy weight Up till 2015 then got sick again and had another surgery bcz of another obstruction but This was caused by adhesions. I lost plenty of weight, even had malnutrition after that second surgery. I had no idea what had been done to me.i ate food n did everything to put on some weight but with no success. No one ever told me anything about this procedure. I just found out today that this is what was done to me. Yes you can't eat a lot of things. I didn't understand why I can't eat citrus fruits freely, or certain foods such as sweet potatoes, beans, etc, the constant stomach ulcers that weren't responding to medication 🤦🏾♀️. Had I been told this earlier I'd have lived the last 14 years of my life in much less pain n discomfort.
I'm going to get the call for the surgery any day. I'm scared, and just not sure I'm ready. I take Advil a lot, as I have a lot of pain. It's going to suck not being able to take anti-inflammatory meds.
Dear Sir, thank you for posting this video. I enjoy all of your content and could watch and listen to you speak always. Such a kind and beautiful spirit. God bless and keep you safe on your journey to complete recovery. I'm such a fan!
I am 3 years in my journey and I keep it real. I had a PE 2 weeks after my surgery. That caused me to be on blood thinners (warfarin) for 8 months. I can’t eat meat. Now trust it was my decision to have it so I am not complaining, but I just do not want anyone thinking it is glamorous and an easy way out. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I can’t say that I regret it and TY is right think of the positives and move forward. Push push push!!!!
Had my surgery 8/24/20 and can admit that it was a heck of an adjustment learning what I could tolerate eating, and getting through the pain of surgery itself. Make sure that you follow doctor's orders, and take things slow and easy. You still have to work through reasons why you reached the weight where you peaked. Lots of inner issues, and working through them; I still deal with food issues. It is a daily process. You will be well...it will be worth it in the end. I'm glad that I went through the process in the end. Loving your theme song, by the way!!
Are u allowed natural anti inflammatory remedies? If so peel a small piece of ginger and turmeric and boil it. Sweeten it with sugar or honey, strain it, and drink it as a tea. It helps greatly when you are sick and inflammation. You could also boil it with lemon and/or lemongrass if you can find it for taste. Or you can also use a lemongrass tea bag. Trust me this helps a lot with inflammation. But idk if you would be allowed to ingest these things. But if you can, I HIGHLY recommend you try it. You can re-boil the ingredients for about 4-5 days or until they become less potent. Just use a small saucepan that could hold about 2 or 1 1/2 mugs worth of tea. The taste may not be that good at first but you will get use too it. The most distasteful part is the turmeric so you could adjust the amount of it. Peel about 2 inches of the ginger root and maybe 1 inch worth of the turmeric root. Drink the tea at least twice a day.
@@leeleemee no problem. You should try it. It definitely works. And honestly doesn’t taste bad imo. Like I said the tumeric tastes can be a bit powerful but you get used to it. It works for colds too
I had it in May I feel awful most of the time some think wow u ain't heal yet I say are u crazy I had major dang surgery . I don't really eat I drink water and crystal lite I try to eat my fruits vitamin is a struggle I am trying it and my b12 shots not getting me mo energy I have to get more vitamin bills refill . I got so sick for months I got a scope they say I have a tiny ulcer on my. Stomach on the staple. I never had a dang ulcer keep me in prayer 🙏 I will keep u in my prayers 🙏 ❤ 💙 💔
If it makes you feel better, I had Gastric Bypass 22 years ago. The first few years were rough, but it got better with time. It is important to keep an eye on your teeth and iron. Malabsorption of nutrients shows first in your teeth. I still get dumping syndrome, and I took ibuprofen from time to time and developed a bleeding ulcers. Herbal teas helped me so much, and ditching diet sodas helped too. My prayers are with you, and I send my love.❤
I'm scheduled for bypass surgery within 2 weeks, but I'm trying to decide if it's worth it. So I'm looking at vids of people who have had it to help me decide.
@remikkamaxwell nope I rescheduled it. I made an appointment 6 months from now. I'm too nervous. My aunt does weight loss surgeries in Mexicali BC. Mexico. I had a mini tummytuck done with her before I moved from California to Belgium almost 2 years ago. She knows I hate taking meds or any sort of pills, so she agreed that it wouldn't be so great to have the bypass. Although the bypass is reversible. I also thought about the sleeve, but that is not reversible, and reflux is a problem with that procedure.
Keep up the great work and I will be 5 years in November 17th I am still going through obstacles and but with the GRACE OF GOD I'm still here keep up with the great work
Thank you so much for your transparency. I am one month postop and I am having excruciating shoulder pain on my left side. It’s very debilitating, and out of all the videos that I watched no one has mentioned any of this. How long before all of your issues went away and once again, thank you for your transparency.
Thank you for your honesty. I am 30 days post op the gastric bypass and I am struggling. Can't tolerate alot of the approved foods. It seems everything makes me sick. I'm tired most of the time. But I know it is temporary, just got to hang in there.
Tobias, thank you for this video. New subscriber here! I am on a waiting list for a gastric bypass and it's scary. How do you take your cannabis? I am curious about these stages; I haven't had any education about that, so that's something I need to look into.
I heard that using any drugs or alcohol can lead to possible problems if done after surgery. That is a drug or alcohol addiction that was totally unexpected may occur in people who never had a problem with them prior to surgery. A family friend still has trouble with it because of opening the door to it post op. What do they say? To be forewarned is forearmed. I wish the best for you all.

Hey love! I will keep you in my prayers that God give you some relief and fix things so you can live normal and comfortably!! Keep the faith!🙏🙏❤❤
Praying for you a speedy recovery feel better soon sweet heart God bless you
I got this same surgery at the age of 14 because of an intestinal obstruction.
About to have Sleeve surgery April 29th. Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations! Me Post Opp 9 days gastric bypass
Yes day by day by day so proud of you, stand strong. God is big.
Wow very informative! Thank you so much! ♥️
I appreciate the transparency. I hope all the symptoms you're experiencing go away soon.
I'm feeling your positive attitude....

I have some of those pains. I will be praying for you 🙏❤.
Great seeing you you look great thanks for sharing your time and thoughts
I'm going to get the call for the surgery any day. I'm scared, and just not sure I'm ready. I take Advil a lot, as I have a lot of pain. It's going to suck not being able to take anti-inflammatory meds.
Dear Sir, thank you for posting this video. I enjoy all of your content and could watch and listen to you speak always. Such a kind and beautiful spirit. God bless and keep you safe on your journey to complete recovery. I'm such a fan!
Thank you for this! I love your spirit
Push push push!!!!
praying for you. get well soon and keep up the hard work
Gm hope u feeling good💖much love😘😘😘

Hey super proud of you keep pushing trust your process and love you for keeping it real I just love you
Thanks for sharing your truth and journey
Had my surgery 8/24/20 and can admit that it was a heck of an adjustment learning what I could tolerate eating, and getting through the pain of surgery itself. Make sure that you follow doctor's orders, and take things slow and easy. You still have to work through reasons why you reached the weight where you peaked. Lots of inner issues, and working through them; I still deal with food issues. It is a daily process. You will be well...it will be worth it in the end. I'm glad that I went through the process in the end. Loving your theme song, by the way!!
Tyfs! Amazing Intro! Love and Blessings to you and your entire family! 🙏🏽💕
TY I am praying for you God will see you threw this. This too shall pass. You have the big part done. Nothing but love for you 🥰🥰🥰
I love you Ty & I love your transparency 😘🥰🙏🏾
Thank you so much for sharing these natural herbal/ root tips to combat inflammation.
@@leeleemee no problem. You should try it. It definitely works. And honestly doesn’t taste bad imo. Like I said the tumeric tastes can be a bit powerful but you get used to it. It works for colds too
God bless you TY and I hope you get your health back soon...
@@ondisgeens9991did you get the surgery? I did Wednesday now I’m nervous 😮
@@remikkamaxwell You actually got it done already? How is it so far? I do wish you the best and better health.😊
Keep up the great work and I will be 5 years in November 17th I am still going through obstacles and but with the GRACE OF GOD I'm still here keep up with the great work
You know what TY i am sorry you going thru the pain you going thru but TY you strong you got this.
Thank you so much for your transparency. I am one month postop and I am having excruciating shoulder pain on my left side. It’s very debilitating, and out of all the videos that I watched no one has mentioned any of this. How long before all of your issues went away and once again, thank you for your transparency.
You look good and keep up the good work. Myf riend had the surgery , the only thing she experienced is always wanting to eat. She's doing great.
Thank you for your honesty. I am 30 days post op the gastric bypass and I am struggling. Can't tolerate alot of the approved foods. It seems everything makes me sick. I'm tired most of the time. But I know it is temporary, just got to hang in there.
22 years out now, and I encourage you to watch for heavy cream in recipes. Massive dumping syndrome!
Turmeric. Black seed oil or eat a spoonful 2x a day for inflammation love. Proud of you
Thank u so much for sharing your journey and by the way you ate looking very nice keep up the good work God bless you TY🥰🥰🥰
I had gastric bypass and I still take NSAIDs. I had it done 12 years ago. I’m actually prescribed NSAIDs by my doctor to take 2 times a day.
TY im so sorry about all the struggles but i know that you will get through this and thank u for you honest 🙏🏽
Happy to see this ! I’m having surgery in a few weeks ! ❤️ thank you ty ✅
