- I hope you enjoy my rambling on about my challenges this year with simultaneous teaching. After a lot of trial and error, and technology issues, I purchased and iPad Pro, a pencil, and GoodNotes to digitize my teaching life:)
Check out www.ProfRobBob.com, there you will find my lessons organized by chapters within each subject.

Huge props for taking the effort to figure out how to teach well for your students while being virtual. Continue being awesome!
Thank you 😊

Interesting overview...I am a grad level university professor who just started using an iPad (pro) 12.9 with pen. Because of the docs all being electronic, i can select a paragraph and enter thoughts feedback, etc. Be mindful of your naming conventions (for tracking), but feedback is tactile & quick, AND you can rapidly enter pictures/graphs/paragraphs from other sources to emphasize what your point. Just slide them in! Amazing world we live in - thanks for taking the time and for your use-case overview.
Thank you for adapting and continuing to bring us content. I would not have made it through my college pre-calc series without you. Now, I am studying for my NES 304 Secondary Mathematics Certification exam. I am teaching through Canvas and WAMAP (an online math interface).
Wishing you great success on your Certification Exam. We need a lot more good math teachers!
Thank you for posting this video- I have been trying to navigate the same thing in my Alg 2 and AP Calculus classes. I have been using a similar setup. Glad to hear great minds think alike! You have however changed my life by showing me the iPad- Canvas/File side-by-side. I don't know why I wasn't using the iPad to grade in Canvas! Thank you so much for all you have done!
You are a great teacher
Thank you...and thanks for choosing this channel to learn from...BAM!!!
Please take time to like, sub and share this channel with everyone:D
Sir u r not a professor but a magician because the u explain really enthralling
Hi. Art teacher from Bosnia. You really ease your work. I used ipad mini for years ataching it to projector. Notes, photos, videos etc. Like you said : no more heavy equipment for cary. Now , i thinking to buy ipad air 4 , i think it will be enough .
Have you considered pen displays like Huion Kamvas or Wacom Cintiq? It gives you more room to move than an Ipad. The only thing that stops me from using my Ipad to teach is it does not support cursor highlighters like Windows does. I know the laser pointer is very handy. However, with Windows, you can have that cursor highlighter that is always there. Students can see exactly where you are writing each time. The advantage for Ipad is the Apple pencil and touch screen is superb! I was able to replicate this with my Microsoft Surface Pro though.
I have not heard of those yet. Thank you for the suggestions. The new year is approaching and I am hoping all goes well and my students are all face to face again. I am hoping my teaching goes back to normal, but if not I will keep your ideas in mind.
check how Teacher "eddie woo" does it
his system with ipad and stuff is good and i think he even explanis how he set it up
Great sharing
...and thanks for watching and subbing!
Please spread the word and share this channel with everyone...BAM!!!
My solution to this is to use the software that comes with the smartboard (loaded onto my laptop) and the artists graphics tablet I purchased. I can write very clearing on the screen with it. It's how I do my zoom classes everyday. I also bought a stand-up desk so it feels more like I'm standing and presenting to the class vs just sitting in my chair at home.
My stack of Calc books is working for now. Long term an adjustable stand up desk on my wood desk is a great idea. I found the marker lines to be too thick for my liking in the smart board software, and the more I write the slower the response from the virtual pen. We will get through this together Bloosee😄👨🏫
@@profrobbob tabletop risers desks can be found at Amazon for well under $100.
@@Bloosee Thank you so much for the suggestion. And it's even prime day! So I might even good a really good deal.
@@Bloosee I was just about to ask you about the adjustable stand up desk. I am using a Wacom and Smart software in my simultaneous classes (Alg II w/ Trig, AP Cal, AP Stats) and am tired of sitting so much.
@@WedittsPlaythings I knew when school started up that I could not sit that much. I feel better and think my voice is better standing up (its how we normally teach). I picked up an adjustable riser for about $70 on amazon, I just put it on top of an Office Depot folding table.
Sir, this computer is amazing 🥰
Hi ProfRobBob,
To you and yours, "Please be well!"
You are not just a MathWiz but, also a Digitally Savvy Denizen :)
You have shared with us an interesting presentation about how you teach digitally in your immediate class-room.
Greatly enjoyed the lecture.
Do you know any good tips for teaching with the iPad? I'm studying music education in Scotland and I'm about to go on placement in the next semester as part of my 3rd year, looking for as many tips I can get or apps I can use for teaching in general to make things fun and exciting :)
I wish I could afford an iPad of biggest screen size and an Apple Pencil. I wait till next year. Right now, I am using vintage iPad 4. I want to app Keynote, but doesn't recognise my vintage iPad.
With your new iPad, I bet you do some digital painting.
Thank you my teacher
You're welcome...THANK YOU for watching and learning!
Such great insight and finding out ways to educate well. I noticed you keep everything in GoogleDrive via Files (is that correct?), and does that communicate with GoodNotes easily? How do you go from one to the other? And if you keep everything in GoogleDrive, when you make edits on the document in Goodnotes, does it change the original file as well? I think with some other PDF apps, when you edit the PDF located in the cloud, it actually updates/changes the original file as well. I'm trying to figure out a way to streamline the process for notes, files, etc. Thanks.
Sorry your message got lost in the sea of messages...I'm sure you figured something out by now but if not...message back and I'd be happy to answer any new questions! I mainly use Google Drive as a back up and an easy method for transferring files from my Android phone to Apple iPad. The are times the internet does not work, therefore my active files... edited pdf's... basically any file I actively use in class is in Goodnotes. If the internet is down my class runs unaffected. Everything I do in Goodnotes is in PDF form. I am still using Goodnotes everyday with my iPad projected onto my smart board though this makes my smart board just a fancy LCD projector now.
what do you use so you can share your iPad screen on the projector?
What's that app you use to grade the students?
Would you and your students be able to use the desmos graphing calculator app to work with a calculator on your iPad?
Good luck!
Thank you!
How did you digitize your textbook?
I used my phone camera and a pdf app making a small pdf of each section.
They took your chalkboard away?? For shame! Actually, you can only find them at colleges now. Your laser pointer thing looks very Jedi knightish, light saber, cool. Thanks for sharing the merits of Good Notes. Gave me some good ideas. Isn't the Apple pen cool? I love mine. There are lots of videos already made for Graphing Calculator functions. You just have to search them. But yes, it is much harder to teach students how to use a graphing calculator now.
try to watch the organic chemistry tutor, he teaches kinda that way ,, and also prof leonard that teaches on white board ,,, your awsome
Organic Chemistry Tutor is great. I should add him to my suggested channel’s list. Maybe I should use dark theme paper for my Tablet talks. Professor Leonard is awesome as well. Thank you!
Which size ipad are u using? 11 or 12.9?
I am using a 12.9 inch iPad. I often have two windows open side by side when grading tests, writing tests, or working solutions in a new book I am using. For how I used my iPad now a school year later I would buy a 15 inch model if they made one!
Good Luck
good
The ones watchin from the beginning to now are the real 9 year olds😢
Are you doing some research?
No. Just working like crazy teaching this year and working solutions to my new book I need to use next year.
@@profrobbob crazy is good than in that case im also crazy.
i was doing some research on this stuff and came accros "turn it in" my uni uses that with "blackboard collaborate", it works quite well
but than i came accros this google thing that teachers like you are using, i just cant remember how and what is it called but it really seemed realy good
i just can remember it was a "google" kinda thing
