    😊❤I like your videos! I'm getting everything new, again since its previous owner didn't use it for a while and only turned it on so it wouldn't get damaged, but I'm happy to have an Acura TSX 04 😅😊❤

    Quick Question/long story: I also have an '06 TSX - GREAT CAR - 5-speed auto with NAV and 176000 miles. I noticed a significant drop in fuel economy at around 140,000 miles. I've since replaced the fuel tank pump/filter and both oxygen sensors. I just saw another video about 'ignition coils' on a 2.4 liter Honda. Symptoms include an engine code in the 300-range, rough idle and the smell of gas. Symptoms on my '06 include 'slow' to start - doesn't turn as fast as it used to - and the smell of gas. It also idles slower than spec...between 600 and 700 rpms. But, it hasn't thrown any codes (yet). Is it my ignition coils? Replacement looks pretty easy. I was about to try installing new fuel injectors but bad injectors don't seem to fit the problems I'm having. What would you do? I used to get 40 mpg on the highway if I drove like an old person (55 mph), now I can barely crack 30. What's up with that?

    • @GTContent
      @GTContent  Год назад

      Sounds like you have a fuel leak issue if your smelling gas. Check the lines for leaks (going to be difficult since it evaporates).

    dont need to remove anything if you have tiny hands. A socket that fits knock sensor with 6 inch extension is doable from outside.

    Nice repair video. You make it look easy. Have you thought about getting your tsx reflashed and doing a review about it?

    • @GTContent
      @GTContent  6 лет назад

      I thought about it. But this is my daily driver so it wouldn't make any sense for me because I like the car as is already. Who knows, I might change my mind in the future :-)

    • @vando1267
      @vando1267 6 лет назад

      GT Content, for a daily, I would highly recommend the reflash as it works well even with stock components. It lowers the VTEC engagement to around 4.9k rpm, throttle is a lot more responsive and redline goes to 7.6k rpm. Plus, the reflash provides a much more linear power band without the hp and tq dip when vtec is engaged.
      There’s a forum member in the tsxclub forums by the name of “Littlebo” that offers the reflash service for $200. The great thing about it is that you don’t have to ship your ecu. He can remote connect through your laptop and reflash the ecu through a special dongle.

    • @j_white1305
      @j_white1305 6 лет назад

      Van Do How does it impact the MPG? I have a 06 TSX daily as well and I haven’t done anything to the engine. If I’m careful I can get 30-34 MPG on the stock motor that’s carefully maintained.

    • @GTContent
      @GTContent  6 лет назад

      Van Do Interesting. Now that makes it even more tempting.

    • @vando1267
      @vando1267 6 лет назад

      J_ White, I personally have not experienced much difference with MPG after the reflash. Although I rarely get over 30 mpg unless it’s on a long highway cruise. With heavy traffic and a/c on, I’ve been averaging about 22-23mpg. Without a/c with same conditions would net about 24-25 mpg. What I really like about the reflash is the improved part throttle response and the rev hang issue (with 6MT) is non existent.

    To who ever replaces this. The bracket could only be removed from the bottom. Those size bolts are 12mm. So you going to have to remove the plastic cover.

And the ecu send engine code and say check emision system

    I am really curious if you have driven a 2009-2014 TSX; I have one in a 6MT, and would like your thoughts on it?

    • @GTContent
      @GTContent  6 лет назад +1

      I haven't driven one, but I have been a passenger. It's much roomier than the first generation and refined.
      As far as, the 1st gen vs 2nd gen, the 2nd was not an evolution of the 1st gen. The 2nd gen was more like the TL of that generation (larger & heavier), but with the 4-cylinder (underpowered). There is a reason why Acura currently offers the TLX (combination of the TL+TSX) and the ILX (TSX replacement) which returned back to it's roots.
      Just my opinion. I could be all wrong. Lol

    • @ssj4david
      @ssj4david 6 лет назад

      GT Content thanks for replying :D. I wasn't pleased at first when my car came out with the same amount of power as the CL9; although what I heard is, my car's only 110lbs heavier than the older TSX, and it appears the engine is turned for more mid end torque from the factory. Tbh, definitely underpowered still. Nonetheless, after I threw in a Rear sway bar upgrade, it still felt surprising tossable in the corners; kept up with my friends Lexus ISF in the bends~
