Thank you!!!! Ohora should pay you, because I never would have bought them again without this. They got caught in my hair constantly and now not at all!!!
Please fix the camera angle...This is my first time watching one of your videos, and the tight camera shot is not working. I'm sure it is meant to be a close up of the nails and technique but...the nails are often not in the shot and blurry.
You know this works with Dashing Diva nail gloss too. I would put top coat on and a week later take off the top coat, trim them and put top coat back on and it seemed like they lasted longer and didn't lift. Great video!!!
@@pink1e I took it off with non-acetone nail polish remover. Full acetone makes the gloss strip gummy. Also, when you use the acetone, use it lightly. You don't have to take off all the polish. Just the first 2 layers (I put on 3-4 layers throughout the week).
Holly this is great! Thank you so much! I was working too hard, pressing after every application of acetone. Now I know a better way! I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Even seeing a “watch me work” video were you are changing a set would be fun to watch!
So is the acetone placed before any curing is done? I want to try this as I have long hair and while I haven't had hair pulling too much I don't want to have to apply top coat every week to avoid it
I tried this with Dashing Diva Glaze strips and it did not work at ALL. The polish didn't melt and the acetone definitely got underneath to the adhesive and they ended up falling off really quickly after. Maybe just a difference in what they are made of (or maybe I did it completely wrong, also a possibility). I haven't tried Ohora so maybe I will get a few sets of those to try out at some point.
Yes, I agree... I didn't really notice any effect with the Acetone Trick on Dashing Diva Glaze either. It also doesn't really seem very compatible with Zinipin, even though they are thicker, they seem to be more sensitive to acetone. In my experience though, both of these brands didn't really have any hair snagging with proper application so perhaps just skip it. :)
Ohora strips are much thicker than Diva, Color Street etc. as it is flexible and stretches unlike those other brand stickers, that why it won’t work with those stickers.
Sorry if I missed it but can I do this with Dashing Divas wraps and/or Color Street? I’m new to these and this whole concept but I like knowing tips and tricks! My mind is blown that the acetone doesn’t seep underneath the sticker and mess up the adhesive 🙀 how..what?..why??
I haven't tried that, but it could if you file your strips before curing. I would just recommend making sure you press down those tips very very well to prevent any acetone from getting to the adhesive. :)
@@yatyat2791 So far, I like it. My first set of nails lasted just over 2 weeks. My nails are wide towards the tip of my nails so I had to stretch most of it. Looks easy to do but it took me about 45 min, it felt like it took forever but only because I was watching a movie while doing it. Haha. I’m on my second set and it’s doing great. I definitely like it better than painting my nails and overspending to get my nails done. Also, I’ve only been doing manicures. My right handed so my left side looks better than my right 😅
Same here girl ^^ I just painted my Nails and it's horrendous 🤣🤣🤣 took me more than 1hr because my hands shaking all the time... So upon doing your ohora did you use this acetone technique that's why it lasted 2 weeks for you??
I actually didn’t do the acetone trick. I didn’t have a small brush and I wanted to see how it would do without the acetone trick. I just pushed down hard at the side of the sides of the nails. Thought that it may help it blend into my real nails and stay on longer and it worked! Haha. My hair did start to get stuck in my nails maybe around 12 days
Does it works with dashing diva or just this one only? Look like that a lot of works but worth it! I purchased dashing diva and loving it later I'll give it a try on vanity ohora!
I should try next time I apply ohora! I keep adding ohora dual tip into my shopping cart but I hesitate buying it. I don’t know what’s stopping me lol. Also.. I didn’t expect to see Korean in the subject line lol!!! Great job!!
At that time, I was using the Ohora primer. It's meant for users with dry nails who have a hard time removing the strips without damage. If you have naturally oily skin and nails, you probably won't need the primer.
Woohooo!!! I was so done after trying 2 different sets of strips & both snagged in my hair. I was ready to trash my last set & email the company 😆 I will try this today with my last set, thank you so much!!
Is it harder for you to do this when you apply them with your non dominant hand? Because I always seem to apply my left hand ones good and my right ones just come out blah 😂
No not really, it only works when the strips are still soft and pliable. However if they are already on and snagging and you want to try to give them a little more longevity before replacing the set, you can file down the cuticle edge to make it smoother and reapply top coat to form a new seal...that has worked for me in the past. Good luck!
@@thatohoragirl5244 So you do this BEFORE adding topcoat too? Or after topcoat, then cure? Your nails look like they have topcoat, but I don't remember you saying that you added it
So I'm just asking since you may know why I'm failing at this. I've tried this. I followed your instructions perfectly. I've actually been doing my own hard gel, liquid gel, acrylics, dip, you name it I've done it for 20 years and as much as I like these ....I cannot get them to stop snagging my hair even with your tips and tricks. Is there something I'm missing? I use nail dehydrator to make sure it's not an oily bed problem.. I've used the top coat before and after method. And lastly I've tried the tips you've given about the acetone around the cuticle and it still snags my damn hair every time I touch it 😭😭😭
It might actually be your hair. I have super fine hair and I swear everything gets snagged on it. I am going to try this tonight and see how it goes but my guess is the trick will work depending on how fine your hair is.
Ohora (and most of the other Korean brands like Zinipin and dashing diva) has more of a dome than cheap Amazon brands made in China. This is why I prefer Korean SCG, because they look more authentic and less “stickery”.
Thank you!!!! Ohora should pay you, because I never would have bought them again without this. They got caught in my hair constantly and now not at all!!!
I can’t wait to try this! I love ohora but hair snagging is my only complaint. Thank you for posting this!

Do you just use acetone to take off the top coat? I have a bubble I missed before curing and it's bugging me lol

Yup, before curing when the strips are still soft. Good luck!
Thank you! I'm so excited to try this!
I am so excited. Woohoo. My only issue with these solved.
Ahh you will love it!! Report back how it goes after trying it!
Hey! :) how do you remove the gel nail with gel top coat? Do u have any videos for us to watch thanks ! You rocks

I wonder if this would help with the free edge of the nail, too?
I haven't tried that, but it could if you file your strips before curing. I would just recommend making sure you press down those tips very very well to prevent any acetone from getting to the adhesive. :)
I usually seal the free edge with a gel top coat just on the edge. Then do a regular top coat.
Is this trick also work to prevent the gel nail popping out? Mine was popped out in 2 days
I just bought a bunch of mail sets and everything from Ohora and about to do my first set. I will definitely try this! Thank you so much!
How was your experience ? Is ohora good and can lasts like for 7 to 10 days to you?

Thanks! Dual End 100% worth the price. Re: the Korean, trying to cover all the bases! Working on adding Japanese next :)
Will these stick on top of gel base or builder gel?
Seems to me that if you’re using builder coats before applying these, they would stick even better because there’s not gonna be any moisture
Did you try it and how did it work?
Thank you!!! I’m definitely going to try this. Thx so much for sgaring!! 🙌🏼
I tried this and it works! But need to use a brush that is resistant to acetone.
Wow....what a game changer. Thanks so much for the tip...
You’re the best for sharing this thank you!
Did you put a base coat on first what was the primer you said you used

I love this acetone trick! But even with gel top coat and sealing the free edge, my ohora mani lifts after a few days. Any tips for that?
Hi! Have you tried a dehydrator? Zinipin Base Gel is also fantastic for helping with adhesion.

Yay! What did you think after you tried it?
Well, how’d it do after trying it this way?!?
What kind of top coat are you using? Do you cure before you put on the top coat?
I love the Ohora Top Coat. Yes I cure for the sticker layer and then for the top coat layer about 2-3 minutes each.
Thank you Holly! I can't wait to put a new Ohora set on my nails.

Pity the whole video is blurred and out of focus
i tried gel nail strips today. they are not thick at the cuticle, like the ones in the video...is the ohora brand thick strips?
Are they gel strips or semi cured gel strips? There's a difference

Have a hard time with the volume on your videos because you start whispering.
I thought acetone is a nail polish remover.
It's a solvent, which will melt down particles. In large quantities it will remove it, but these smaller quantities will soften.
Ohora have REAL rubbish customer service.
terrible video with bad sound and blurring
