I've been using this polish for a couple of years. It is absolutely fantastic but it quickly gets thick in the bottle if you don't clean the bottle opening and close it tightly.
I love seeing you paint nails on older hands and the result is lovely. My mother is 80 and has always had beautiful hands, occasionally she lets me paint her nails and seeing how you care for your mother makes me a little emotional 🥲kisses to you both xxx
Absolute perfection. Nothing feels better than looking after your mother's hands as a nail technician. Your attention to detail and gentle touch is a luxury to all who are serviced by you.
Didn’t know that she is Anna’s mother. But right at nudging back the skin and shaping the nails it was obvious, her nails have exactly the same form as Anna. 😍
So happy to see a Mama SL manicure! Been missing her. I have such ridged nails that I usually avoid polishes with no base or top coat. The finished polish looked nice on your mom’s slightly ridged nails. And I agree. Definitely not a one coat polish in my opinion. I’ll be interested in seeing what it looks like in a week and the removal. Whether it stains. Thank you for showing us this product. Always a joy to watch you manicuring! ❤
I have watched lot of your videos in last 48 hrs. It's surprising that after this many years of RUclips it's first time my timeline showed natural nails bcz all I see are acrylic or some artificial nails to the point I thought nail salons don't do natural and I can't have artificial and natural nails are different in many ways than artificial. I am so thankful to you. I today shaped my nails watching your tutorial and let's see how I keep up with in. Thanks a lot again.
Oh my gosh, so nice to hear from you and I’m very happy my videos inspired you :)) Try doing your manicures weekly even though it might seem there is nothing to do. It’s easier to maintain good nails than to fix disaster :)) and if course just a drop of oil after most of hand washes and nudge skin back if it has a tendency to stick or stretch. That’s it. Oh. And some light exfoliant at night :). Good luck!
Dr Dray posted a video yesterday about nail ridges. In this video she recommended not cutting or pushing back the cuticle (she referred to the Proximal nail fold as cuticle). I have been following this dermatologist for years and respect her advice on skin care. I also know that you highly regard her as well. However I also highly respect your advice to obtain healthy natural nails including recommending that we regularly "gently" push back the PNF. Now of course I am confused! Another lovely manicure for your mum!
Great manicure and I love the place products like this hold in the nail world. I love recommending products like this for an at home manicure or an extended trip. You get a professional manicure before a vacation and about a week or two in you need a refresh. Even if you used a light color you can still feel “polished” 😉 and put together until you get back home to your manicurist. Or you are just someone who rarely gets to the salon and you always do your own nails. Thank you for sharing this brand because it’s a type of polish I love and find very useful. ❤❤❤
9:19 I totally get keeping things sterile! Retired nurse here and my husband is a tattoo artist. So, I get single use items. Maybe you could give it to the person you are using it on for them to use on their own nails at home, if you’re worried about waste. If they don’t want it, toss it. Or keep doing it the way that works for you, because it’s your business mama! Run it how it works for you! 😉 Thanks for the video! Love the color.
Ps. I mean the one time use items like buffers and emery boards and orange wood sticks I give to the clients. The metal tools I sterilize in an autoclave. :). I just don’t agree with a notion to keep the used tools till next visit or have the client bring their own tools advice. First clients would not have all the tools I need (for pedicure there are quite a few high quality tools I use plus drill bits) and second how do I know if the tools are clean and not carried on the bottom of the purse since last pedicure 😅. It’s shocking that I have heard dermatologists give that kind of advice to general public. If you can’t trust the salons cleanliness then don’t go there at all.
I agree about the ingredients thing. I just found out my favorite top coat was discontinued because the brand decided to go “10 free” and I am heartbroken over it! According to other customers the one they kept isn’t as good or shiny and I am so disappointed over it. Now I’ll have to find something that compares to it and ugh how annoying! I had already found my holy grail but because of some dumb marketing ploy I have to search once again.
Thank you ❤, almost 7 weeks ago, my hand and nails looked horrible, I had stopped getting acrylic nail extensions, I tried Biab, but which didn’t really help my natural nails grow stronger or longer. I had just worked the yard without gloves, my nails short, torn, cuticles a mess. I always bit my cuticles. I looked at my hands and thought this needs to change. I searched and found you. Daily, cuticle oil, cicaplast for hands, every 3-4 days, Essie or emi strength on my Nails, pushing cuticles back, filing, I didn’t have the right tools yet. I wished I had kept before pictures, today my hands and natural nails never looked this good before. My cuticles look fantastic, I just bought your kit, and will have the right tools finally:). Basically after a week I saw a difference which really makes you want to keep it up. I’m trying to convince my mother now, she hasg brittle nails, as she worked in restaurant, but she is retired now, and has for decades, extensions. It’s just nice to not have to go in for an 1-2 hours every 3 weeks. Just daily 5 minutes, will do now. Thanks !
I’ve seen this line and am interested in the opaque white. I have ridgy nails and no longer use a buffing block. I want to test to see if it’s the white polish I’ve been searching for when it comes to diy mani pedi 🥰
I love how clear your channel is it’s helping me a lot while I study my nail course. However we learn that you should not seesaw the nails when filing natural nails. How come you do this?
Thank you for the video. I want to try Opi serum too. I was reading on instructions that you suppose to put 2 coats and let it sit for 10 minutes before applying mail polish. Then wipe it off with alcohol or acetone before applying nail polish. Do you wipe it off or is it ok to keep it on? Does it make a difference in the longevity of a manicure?
Anna; what is your opinion about the process that some manicuristas do; who purposely overflood the nail w/ polish / go over the skin and clean up with tools after?
In the late 90's I use to get my acrylics done at a salon and everyone had their own ziplock baggie. Inside was our name card a wooden stick and a purple buffer block. I was super young maybe 18-19 but I haven't thought about that in a long time. I never spent more than 55$ for a full set and that was with "design" as they called it back then and $25 for a rebase IF we came every 2 weeks. We never had gel polish but we still sat under a UV light. Huh. weird.
I really don’t think having dirty, used tools sitting in a ziplock bag (retains moisture) a good idea sanitation wise. Perfect breeding ground for bacteria. In Canada this is absolutely against health department regulations.
Enjoyed seeing this done on mature hands. 😊 Would really love to know how this polish lasts though please. Based on how the video began I was waiting for the update to be revealed at the end of the video. 😢
Is it important to cap the free edge of the nail with polish , or top coat ? I didn’t see you do it , so I was just wondering. Love all your videos btw 🩵🩵!!!
As a vegan, I'm actually also annoyed by all the vegan labeling. Just because something is vegan, doesn't mean it's good for you. Oreos are naturally vegan, but definitely no health food. That being said, there are some non vegan polishes. Actually for example the regular Revlon polish (Super Lustrous) has silk as an ingredient, so not vegan. These Ultra Snap polishes look great 👍
The colours of the nail polish are beautiful and I put on two coats and the diamond top coat. Couple of days later and I'm already seeing the colour deteriorate and chip. Shame because as I say, the colours are great.
From this brand? And you mean they stain yellow or the color of the polish (like you can't remove the last bits of color) Yes, if the nails are porous the removal can be difficult.
Yes this brand. They stain the color of the polish. Removal can be messy, the color will get everywhere instead of absorbing into the cotton pad. You have to be careful with them. They have good formulas and coverage. And I like the brush.
1) I did remove the cuticle with e-file 2) Not everyone wants their skin fold cut 3) you don’t treat dry skin by cutting it, ask any dermatologist 4) I’m not sure you meant it but your comment came across very rude esp all caps mean yelling. It’s very important to me to know where ingredients are sourced from. I live a vegan lifestyle and I only buy products that are vegan, cruelty free and free of toxic chemicals whenever possible. If a company is not clear about the ingredients, I won’t buy it.
All the nail polishes on the market at vegan. The vegan term in nail polish is a marketing gimmick like selling hydrating water. All water is hydrating.
Also non of the polishes contain toxic ingredients. I mean when used as directed. Like for example alcohol is toxic but you can wipe your nails with alcohol but drinking huge amounts would be toxic.
Beautiful as always, Anna! I love this colour so much I'm wearing it myself at the moment. :-) I agree with you on the cap - it's not the best to apply with, which is such a shame, seen how great the brush and overall quality of the polish are! I hope Revlon will perfect it with time.
Also, so we don't pass misinformation along to those who trust this channel & its creator there are A LOT OF NON-VEGAN nail polishes about there. In fact, Sally Hansen only has 1 line of vegan nail polish called Pur, not ALL Maybelline nail polishes are vegan. I would definitely suggest looking up the ingredients on the polish if that's important to you. 🫶
Hi Amanda! Can you tell me which ingredients in the regular Sally Hansen polish are animal based? Honestly asking. Here is more info written by a chemist and cosmetic formulator : nailknowledge.org/blog/do-vegan-nail-products-exist

I think this manicure looks lovely, and I appreciate videos where you discuss how “high street” nail polishes perform. Thank you.

The name is in the title and link is in the description box :) I can't remember now how long I dried it but I usually mention that in the video... :)
Did the spray work after 5 mins? Were the nails dry?😊
No lol. I use it as substitute of oil in that case. I don’t find the spray makes them dry faster.

The colours of the nail polish are beautiful and I put on two coats and the diamond top coat. Couple of days later and I'm already seeing the colour deteriorate and chip. Shame because as I say, the colours are great.
