How excited was I to wake up to a manicure on your own nails! I would never get tired of watching you do full manicures. I used to file in one direction due to recommendations on RUclips but not anymore since finding you. I also feel cheated that I never have much cuticle to remove. I wonder if the Sally Hansen cuticle remover is not as effective as Blue Cross?? You have lovely nails!! 👏🏻

Regarding a person using an efile on themselves and damage, I’ve seen pictures of the damage people do to themselves. I’ve no clue why people post the photos, but they do. Their nails look, awful but the skin around the nails looks even worse. In the photos I’ve seen, the skin is all bloody. I’m sure some people can do less damage to themselves and not end up with bloody skin. I’m also pretty sure that there are a lot of people who damage their nails and skin and don’t post about it. I had a nail tech, licensed and who had been working many years, only use the e file on my free edge. She wasn’t comfortable using on the nail over the nail bed because she hadn’t been trained in it. (this was in the late 90’s and early 2000’s and in small-small medium town.) If a nail tech won’t use an e file without training, a non nail tech certainly shouldn’t be using it without training and definitely not on themselves.
I’ve actually gouged a finger nail with one of those curved, sharp cuticle pushers. It’s taken months to grow out ( about 3/4 of the way there!😩 Im all for the orange wood sticks now.

I have the same type of base coat! It works well! By the way thank you for your advices, my cuticules used to look horrible all my life, but now they're in a great shape!
Hello Brigitte! We remove the cuticle during the manicure so I'm sure it's the skin around your nails looks better (skin fold) because the cuticle cannot look better (especially after it's gone lol)
What type of oil for the nails? Enjoy the videos. Hope to keep my nails short and looking like yours. I have never did any kind of gel nails or nails that had to be kept up in a nail salon.

Great video! One of my challenges as well is not picking at the rough spots! They drive me crazy! I am a nurse in the hospital so using the hand sanitizers really does a job on the nails especially in winter! But I have been doing the oil soaks and the kerasal for a few weeks now so I’m trying to do better. It is a hard habit to break lol

Do you still use IBX treatment? I have been using it for a few months now and i believe it helped. I think my nails are more break-proof and peel-proof than before. They also feel strong and flexible

Another super helpful video. Thank you. Just wanted to say that I have the same kind of pusher that you said you are returning. I can confirm they are way too sharp for your average user, especially one who struggles doing their dominant hand! I haven't used mine since finding your channel as I used to use the arrow shaped end to clean under my nails constantly throughout the day (OCD). My nails feel so much better already but I've also incorporated your advice with the Kerasal, oil and moisturiser. Just waiting on the arrival of all my organic oils to start doing a weekly hot oil soak♥

Thank you for this video. As you suggest I like a dark background when I file, maybe just a dark picture from a magazine or something similar. Also, I have been concentrating so much lately on gentle filing and frequent oiling for my peeling ends I have neglected the cuticle so many thanks for the reminder.

I love watching your manicure videos. I have learned so much and my nails show it. What is the difference between the OPI repair mode and the DermaNail strengthener? Can I use both?
Hi, I have question. I messed up my nails. That beautiful U shape at the end of the nail (where nail grow out an turns white). It lost it’s shape. Does it fix itself, or is it lost cause? It never happened to me before. At least not this much.
For a bad situation you can pack your nails with Aquiphor and sleep in cotton gloves. The next day you’ll have a much better situation.
Do you use a coat every day? Or what are you next steps until you get a new manicure?
Do you know any products in the US that are similar to the countries base coat?
I usually scrape back my cuticles after soaking my fingers/toes in warm water. Good or bad idea?

Can you speak to black castor oil on the nails/fingers? Thinking of using it up before buying Jojoba oil. So far it looks great and has made a huge difference in appearance in just a day!
For the nail plate that is very dense and not very easy to penetrate you need something that is easy to penetrate (for the purpose of plasticizing the nail). Castor oil is not a very penetrating. I’m sure it has benefits but it won’t plasticize the nail plate well.
Jojoba is actually a liquid wax and it’s very similar to human sebum.

Hello :) I keep my nails short because I like short nails. Also I work a lot with my hands doing pedicures and foot massages so longer nails would be uncomfortable.

That's what happens to me - I end up with torn skin around, so it never looks nice and smooth.
If a person has ridges in her nails, is there anyway to fix this, or is this just how the nail will always be?
No fix I got a lot of them as I get older it sucks but don't buff them it will make you lose❤ layers of your nail and they will be thin

I have bad ridges and one of my nails splits from the tip to the base. I have used the OPI Repair Mode for the 6 days that is recommended and they have become stronger and no more splits. They are still ridged, but I think less so.
What kind of nail file do you use?

What are your thoughts on the ingredients in LUSH Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter? 🍋🥸 I use a thick layer of it every night on my nails, but I’m thinking of switching to Flexitol heel balm (I think it might be kind of a European version of Kerasal)
Oh, the marketing....
"Soften your dry, cracked cuticles" (we want to soften the skin, cuticle we remove during a manicure. There are 2 "skins" around the nails, cuticle and skin fold. Not just 2 "cuticles"
"And nourish your nails with our zesty cuticle butter" (you can't nourish nails. They are dead. You can't feed a dead nail. Yes, you can condition it but you cannot feed it.
but don't stop there: this thick, buttery salve is a lifesaver on any rough body parts like feet, elbows or knees. Beeswax, shea butter and cold pressed avocado oil moisturize and soften (all good ingredients, but you can make this yourself too. Very simple.
and fresh lemon infusion will brighten skin and wake up your senses. (lemon does not brighten skin. It can be actually phytotoxic. I don't know what they mean by infusion. Extract?. I don't know how this really wake up your senses but sounds and smells good I guess)
A little bit goes a long way with this one! (True)

PS. Flexitol has different ingredients from Kerasal. It has lanolin and doesn't have salicylic acid. It's different. Kerasal is available in EU with a few exceptions

The Flexitol one I mentioned is the “Hard Skin and Callus Balm” which has 22% urea, glycerine 8.00, glycolic acid 0.12, salicylic acid 0.12 and lactic acid 0.24 which I think sounds interesting 🤓 It’s also a lot cheaper to buy in Denmark compared to shipping and import taxes from iHerb, which is why I wondered if it would work - as I can buy it in my local pharmacy for €11 compared to €21, and with almost double the amount of product 🥸 (I’m a poor science student)
