    These have been life savers for me. I'm a teacher, I'm not rich. The gel strips have helped me stop biting my nails and the price is decent. I personally use Dashing Diva. They are gel strips and I have had them last up to a month. It takes practice for sure but I love all the different designs. It's fun for me. But I do splurge on gel pedicures once a month. 💜

    I've been using semi cured gel strips for a few months now and love them! Much more durable than regular polish. There are a few tricks you can use to keep them from snagging your hair. I also recommend using a gel top coat even if the directions don't necessarily call for it. They look much better and are even more durable with it. So happy to see you try these!

    I started using the Sally Hansen strips years ago. Tried Incoco strips(now Color Street). Also tried Dashing Diva. The regular dashing diva strips are ok but their gel cured ones are amazing!! Color street is my favorite for the regular nail strips. I use a UV gel topcoat over them. I can get up to 3 weeks of wear on natural & hybrid gel. You can bling them up as well. Lately I've been doing my own nail art but if you're strapped on time then the strips are the way to go!!

    I prefer shorter nails so the few times I used the regular peel+stick style strips, I'd cut them in half and reshape the larger ones and I'd get three full manis out of a pack. There was one brand that had enough for me to eek out nearly a fourth; in that case, I used coordinating polish for two nails.

    A UV squish light helps with preventing hair getting caught. Just press on all sides of the nail before curing. Also, do not slather oils on freshly done stickers (that loosens the adhesive) and I do mine before bed so that they are not exposed to water until the next day. 😊

Overall these are good to have on hand for quick nail designs if you don’t have the time. Great video !!!!

    A trick to not get your hair stuck at the edges is by using acetone to thin the edges. I use a nail art brush to brush the acetone around the edges about 10 times per nail. I then use gel top coat. I also find it easier to cure the nails first and then cut off the extra length.

  • @XgreeneyegeminiX

    I use these. All different brands but dashing diva I find at tj maxx for less than 5.00 a pack. They are 100% worth the money IMO! if i paint my nails with gel polish it peels withing 7 days. I've tried like 20 brands 3 lights ph bond many top and base coats and I can't get then to last more than 7 days.... but these last me 2 weeks. I usually change out at 10ish days because of grow out! I work in the medical field and wear gloved 7-9 hours a day and wash my hands atleast 100 times.... these last better than any product I've ever used.

    • @charlenejo2490
      @charlenejo2490 2 года назад

      Yup, I love Dashing Diva. The only problem is, with all the moisture my hands are exposed to, between washing/sanitizing my hands and washing dishes, sometimes the moisture gets trapped underneath the nail strips and causes a little bit of staining or fungus.

    I use to use them, both the peel and stick and the gel strips. I found that if you have an apex on your nail, they won't fit, even when you stretch them. These are made for the bare nail, not for sculpted nails. But some are better than others. It depends on the brand. But they dry out so fast. I prefer using gel out of the bottle over these strips.

    • @NailCareerEducation
      @NailCareerEducation  2 года назад +31

      I would much prefer using the gel from bottle.
      These are basically a hack for those who don’t want to use it from a bottle. And for those who may not have the patience for the skills to apply it out of the bottle. And there is obviously some compromise when using a peel and stick one size fits all situation

    Can you do a video on like proper cleaning of tools for us at home that do our nails? And how not prevent you from getting allergic reaction to product? I have been very careful at not getting product all over my skin and still got an allergic reaction after over a year of doing my own nails.
    Thanks suzie!!

      Oh that sucks eh. Sorry to hear that. Allergies don’t have much to with not being clean, it has everything to do with yr own bodies sensitivity and uncured product - so many variables like the lamp the amount ingredients the product and how you use and incompatibilities. 🙁but yes good idea

    I have some polish strips from Color Street, I find they aren't as easy to get off the backing paper, I have some on in between my nail appointments. It's nice to not have the mess around my cuticle and skin from nail polish though.

    My favorite semi cured gel nail wraps are by Jelcie. They're stretchy and the strips are longer so you can get more manis out of them. Removal is very easy too.

    Polish ( shape) in a downward motion. Not side to side. That will loosen the edges

    Well this might be just for me. I always have trouble with ordinary polish drying quickly and not ruining the design in meantime. And with gel i hate it. I don't like soaking it with the acetone. I have quite short nails. I like to keep them short. Don't like long ones too much. I might just have to try these

    If it doesn't fit your nail all the way you can stretch them

    I would recommend NOT prepping the nail with acetone as acetone will break down the gel and is really harsh to be leaving on your nail and cuticles. I would recomment alcohal the alcohal pads that are included or your own rubbing alcohal. Also, if the square shape does not fit the shape of your cuticle try using the other end or the gel nail which is more round.

      Acetone will Not affect the gel it evaporates immediate
      All acetone does is remove oil

    I’ve been using nail stickers from Shein with a gel top coat for durability. They’re not all created equally 😆 Some are so thin and tear easily and some are great. I tried the semi cured gel ones for the first time yesterday. Wow! The application is so much easier. They don’t curl up when you apply them, they hide nail ridges, they don’t crease or bubble. However, I never experience hair snagging with the plastic stickers but the gel ones are snagging.

    Love watching your videos Suzie! I do have a question so if anyone else can answer for me from experience. I’ve been wanting to try these so bad but I am a mom of 2 boys and am constantly doing dishes and bath time and such. Can anyone attest to how well they last through the soap/water trials of motherhood 🤣

    Anybody here manipulating these semi cured strips with a non gloved hand start getting an allergic reaction? I am curious to know if these are a lot less risky to handle with bare hands as opposed to getting some gel polish or gel products on your hands repeatedly.

    very interesting product i wonder how it is removed? do you have to soak/file them off? or can they just be peeled off?
