    I enjoyed watching Moses and Evelyn Ashford as much as any athletes since. Neither of those athletes were ever mentioned in doping rumors.

    • @1972dsrai
      @1972dsrai 3 месяца назад

      That doesn’t mean they didn’t though. There are very few if any that have ever been completely clean. If not outright doping most are using TUE’s now to get around regulations. Back then the USOC was also helping cover up positive tests for certain athletes.

      I grew up in the 70s and 80’s. No one questioned Moses. People tried to immitate his training techniques as one of the first to use tech. heavily to guide his training. Drug rumors? I agree with everyone on this thread. I subscribed to T&F News in those days and never saw a single accusation. Good video about a legend though.

    Without doubt best athlete ever, I ran (very amateurly) at 2 meetings he was involved in and never seen anyone to compared with him.
    Ran with Seb Coe once, in same meeting as Henry Rono who I considered the best due to his amazing range but Ed was the best. Not may have won in Moscow, he could have stopped after 4 hurdles, changed his shoes and still won.

    Its well known that the USOC in that era helped cover up negative tests for athletes who were expected to medal. Carl Lewis despite his protestations was doping in 1988 yet only Johnson got caught. I still think something fishy went on and he was possibly set up by the US. He wasn’t stupid enough to still have traces of steroids in his system for the final and knew exactly how long was needed for them to clear his body. I’m not saying he didn’t dope as he’s admitted he did, but he was far from the only one. That 100m race is still amazing to watch. He was truly amazing and completely trounced what was an elite field.

    Ok Sports Dive, your tactic worked. You lied in your headline and got a view, but now I am very angry because you let me to believe something that wasn't true. And now, even though I have never seen you before, you have made a bad impression and I don't ruined your credibility with me. Was it worth it? And just to be clear, you said Edwin Moses "Finally" confirmed the rumors... clever way to lead the viewer to believe he admitted to doping. This is not cool. Can't build a channel with tactics like this.
