    Watching Iverson vs Carter game 2 of the second round of the 2001 playoffs was still the greatest sporting event I’ve ever witnessed live. 7 rows off the court watching Iverson drop 54pts and Vince putting up 28pts was beyond exciting. Game 3 Vince came back and dropped 50 then Iverson put up 52pts in game 5. That series was a legit heavyweight war between AL vs VINSANITY!!!!!

    Being from NC ( not a UNC fan, NC STATE )I’ve seen so many players come thru. The college in my town has a college tourney every year and it’s small. UNC, Duke always come and we get to see them off season. Vince was a special player. He would shoot the shit after games and hang out. He didn’t act like a premadonna or need special attention or treatment. His game didn’t get recognized bc all the dunks. He shot lights out during the tourney one year..no dunks, and was unbelievable. Played into his 40’s…he is someone the NBA should immortalize bc he kept asses in seats and got them huge tv contracts after Jordan. Good shit thanks for posting this

    My fav player growing up and I stand by this statement, he was the most talented 2 guard ever. He had more explosiveness than anyone at the position and the best 3 point shooter out of his peers. He just didn't have the organization and drive to be better than everyone else unfortunately

    • @WalkingthroughNYC
      @WalkingthroughNYC 4 года назад +3

      @@kewan2045 actually he was among the most skilled. His issue was his drive to be the best. Outside of Ray Allen and Reggie Miller he was probably the best three-point shooting two guard star from that era and he actually had way more range than Ray Allen. Here's the first guy to really pull up three four feet behind the three-point line on a regular basis. he had pretty good court vision wasn't the best passer but he was an above average passer. He had a post game he had a fade away he could shoot the three way better than most two guards could drive to the basket and score and he actually was a decent shot blocker. He just didn't have the drive that Kobe had.

He’s top 6 on the all time three point list. And I can also say he played and lasted 22 years at that, plus the countless highlights acrobatic lay ups and just basketball plays in general , in my opinion your looking at one of the most skilled players of all time , he can dunk he can shoot he scores on every level and was actually clutch with a lot of game winners. I mean Vince carter is just a icon in basketball and that’s why he will be a first ballot hall of famer without a championship and without a mvp .
