The irony of him trying to teach his son about his powers is that John Vogelbaum, the doctor, told Homelander that he deserved to be raised by a family that loved him, not by doctors in a lab. Ryan may be the success that Homelander never was.
The issue would be when he finds out he has basically been living in a prison, how would he react? Although this isn’t exactly an issue considering how well he is raised and loved in comparison to homelandee

Homelander also feel sympathy for his son because when he was still a child he's also imprisoned without friends or anything. That's why he said to Becca that his son is in a pretty prison and would hate her if the boy finds out the truth.
I don’t think Ryan would hate his mother, I think he’d be really upset but never hate her. The difference between him and his father is that Ryan was actually raised in a loving environment. And he seems like an emotionally mature young boy too. I think he would be upset, but after his mother explains the situation they were in to him, I think he would be understanding as forgive her eventually.

No one really mentioned the fact that he heard her conversation with Dr.Park from so far away, I feel like the show is not really capitalizing much on his other powers. Mainly just flight, strength and heat vision.
