I’m a owner of the 2022 gr supra and I got to tell ya the more you drive it the more you will fall in love with 😍 it’s a beautiful car and am glad and happy to own one!!!

It is stil a BMW with Toyota badges. Toyota insulted there followers. They build the GR Yaris and corolla. Toyota was just lazy to build there own Supra.
Any problems with it yet?
@@jeanduplessis8038 we can't say Toyota was lazy they could have made it a baby LC 500 or just did what Lotus done used the reliable Toyota 3.5 V6 and supercharged it they had plenty of options I think they just want to try some different

When I was in Supraforums in the early 2000s, there was a running joke that the MK3 wasn't a Supra. They just called it a MK3. As an owner of two of them, I found that gag hilarious! 😅

You mean Toyota and BMW Supra? Toyota was literally involved with the creation, design , development of the Supra MK5.
@@borla4491 that's true. However, many people believed Toyota was responsible for "engineering" the B58. In one interview, Tadasan said toyota only suggested for parts to be replaced that didn't meet their standards. I owned a 21 Supra for a few months and it wasn't a bad car but it did have the typical BMW electrical glitches that showed up. Either way, I'd choose the BMW supra over the overpriced teggy type S anyday.

And you fail to mention that Toyota was part of the Chassis development and literally designed the Supra.

Also, I can tell you literally don't know that the MK4 A80 Supra (4th Gen) is clearly a Lexus SC400/300 underneath (300 already having the 2JZ series engine, LONG before the existence of the MK4 from the 400/300).
While the MK3 A70 Supra (the best selling Supra to this day. NOT the MK4 Supra which sold poorly!) is based on the Soarer.
And MK2 A50/A60 Supra is based on the Lotus Excel
The best compliment for the A90 is that it is currently the most engaging BMW chassis, paired with a great engine and even a manual :) G8x are bloated and digital in comparison
Comparing G8x M with A90? You wish man. Compare with 340i 240i z4 etc. It's no match for s58 G8x. Plus it's 90% BMW parts.......

Back when the A90 Supra was unveiled and they said it was based on the Z4 everybody and their grandmother bitched about it being a BMW and not having a 3JZ. I for one think, that there wouldn't have been an A90 Supra if it weren't co-engineered with another company, just like the GT86 I might add, or it would have been 911 money, which would have made it much less desireable. As for the 3JZ part, no such thing exists. Eversince the N54 came out, BMW have been perfecting the 3.0 turbo I6 with the B58/S58 being the pinnacle of that evolution in both reliability and tuneability. I honestly prefer the A90 Supra to the A80/MK4 Supra.

Toyota was literally involved with the Supra MK5 A90/J29. Along with the Design, Development, and Creation.
The B58 inline 6 is not exactly the same engine you will find in any BMW(there are different Variants of the B58. There is not just one B58)
Plus the current generation (G29) BMW Z4 wouldn't exist without the MK5 Supra
If I was to spend $50-$60k for a car, I would get a Supra.....not no Civic or Corolla no matter how great.
I have a civic type r and I currently destroy Supra’s on the street. I do however have 560hp 515 torque 😅
@@carlos242242You do know that there are literally different kinds of the Supra MK5? There are B58 inline 6 ones including the GR types.
And the B48 Inline 4 Supra MK5s
IMHO, the previous generation Supra looked better.

Especially when the MK4 A80 Supra was literally a flop in sales throughout the decade(the MK3 A70 Supra is the best selling Supra to this day. NOT the MK4 A80 Supra). And while stock, the RZ Supra A80 MK4 Turbo trim had its hands full against C4 Corvettes(base. Regular models while stock) of the 1990s, including the Dodge Vipers. And the Pontiac Trans Am Firehawks and WS6s which those costed less than the Supra, while with light mods amd better tires gave the Supra MK4 a fight
90% BMW parts with Toyota budget. We all know it's BMW not Toyota.

Just to be clear - the B58 engine featured in the mk5 Supra, does NOT appear in any BMW M car, despite this video implying that it does
Watch the video again he never once said that. He said the Supra has its own variation of the 3 series b58 that's exclusively made for the Supra.
@@MrLyricalMessThat's only in Europe, right? The "headyfold" B58. In the United States they introduced a different variant of the B58 after some time, with external exhaust manifold and better top end performance. Probably shared with the Z4 and more Bmw's.
@pokest225 I believe it's worldwide the engine that the Supra uses is called a B58M30 01 it is specifically made for the supra with most parts being different. the engine you find in the 340i and other bmws is called the B58B30M0 and B58B30O1. And for the M Model all M engines start with an S instead of not B. @tristanmayor6302 does not know what he is talking about.
@@MrLyricalMess I think they changed the Supra B58 variant in the USA. And went up in power from 340bhp to 382bhp. External exhaust manifold, probably different turbo and some other parts too.
About the M variants, yes. They start with "S" code.

funny to me that the only supra that was entirely all toyota developed was the 3rd gen that was clearly missed in the vid. It may have been accidental though If not a true supra enthusiast making and editing it.

What was the whole point of showing the mk4 Supra and older ones everyone knows about it the car everyone hate is the a90 supra I used to hate it but it grew on me I wanna own one eventually

This was the worst thing toyota could have done. It's a modified z car with a bmw engine. Dgi engines suck because of what it cost to clean the carbon out of then. The mk3, and mk4 surpas are the best ever built. The 2jz gte remains king

Yeah and this car is a complete joke. No matter how much you tune it, the previous 4th generation Supra still always dominates it and still most every other car out there still to this day with it's legendary 2JZ.
