You should react to the live version of this song, from Red Rocks. Absolute live masterpiece!!! Also, I agree with you on the silence/contrast Next songs for you: Riverside - Second life syndrome (please listen to this song, it is *GOD TIER* ) Opeth - Serenity painted death
Lot of great songs to look forward to! Deliverance Masters Apprentices Demon of the Fall The Lepar Affinity The Lotus Eater Hessian Peel Just to name a few. Pick any, I promise you won't be disappointed.
🔥🔥❤Opeth❤🔥🔥 Excellent reaction Jon! The 'current band' members - Mikael Åkerfeldt/vocals (clean and growling), lyricist, 2nd lead guitar & acoustic, composer and overall master of everything he does. Fredrik Åkesson also lead guitar Martin Mendez - bass Drums - Was Martin Axenrot until recently, but he left. New drummer - Opeth announced (approx. Sept 7th 2022)the new drummer to replace Martin Axenrot is Waltteri Väyrynen who left Paradise Lost to join Opeth. Joakim Svalberg- keyboards/mellotron
I used to love shredders, still do, but as I got older it was stellar 'riffs' that grabbed more of my attention. In 1984 when I first heard Yngwie he absolutely blew me away, I loved a lot of the other shredders that followed, but the last 20 years it's been all about those majestic riffs and Opeth (Mikael) writes more of them than anybody in music (my opinion). For older Opeth I recommend the whole 'Still Life' album, but I do love them all...Blackwater Park, Ghost Reveries, Watershed, MAYH. I'd also recommend the newest Opeth album 'In Cauda Venenum' I think the whole album is awesome, different than the old stuff but still amazing.
I really like your reactions! Exactly why I watch Opeth reaction videos. I think few Opeth songs really top the ones you have listened to, but if you're interested in a real ride, consider Black Rose Immortal! One of their older ones. Quite different, but very interesting.
Hi Jon, you're going to get a lot of recommendations for the Red Rocks concert (sure, I love it too) - but I'm going to do you a favor and tell you that the Roundhouse Tapes performance is a million times better. I'm confident you'll agree, since you seem to appreciate Mikael's growls so much. The Roundhouse Tapes is peak live Opeth. If you do decide to watch the Red Rocks version, I would love to get your opinion of the Roundhouse Tapes version in comparison...
I see you already did The Moore. From this same record please check The Grand Conjuration, The Baying Of The Hounds or Beneath The Mire . YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR SHIT dude!.. trust in me!.. you will not regret
Totally get what you saying about Malmsteen, I feel the same way. He is crazy talented but his songs sucks. Also agreeing with you about Mikael's growls, it is the best I have heard so far, at least counting 20-10 years back.
The mix on this album was a bit harsh on the bass. If you don't have really beefy speakers/headsets it might be difficult to pick it out at points, but it's there. Pay attention and you'll feel Mr. Mendez's tasty licks (no pun intended)
Music is the closest we come to "God" in this world! I'm sincerely curious: If this is your best one from doing this channel, what's your best all time song/album? (This is not my all time favourite track though marvellous, so it's not a rhetorical question!)
I love mikeals melodic guitar solos,he undersells himself as a guitarist as well as a vocalist, very modest man.
Enjoyed it. First time ever heard that? Has a great deep pagan beauty you have to keep going back for. Thanks for doing it

Why do people like live versions? Stupidity?
I don't know a lot of album that start with a more awesome song than Ghost Reveries with Ghost of Perdition. Amazing stuff.
I do. Still life, the moor. Blackwater Park, the leaper affinity. Oh wait, is always opeth XD
Welcome to The best song ever, and welcome to The best journey ever
Amen.

That honor is still held by Tool - Lateralus. Both the album and track are my favorites.
@@JON.HOUSE24 Yeah, it's geat! So you were a big Tool fan already before doing reactions?
