- Today I decided to make a Super Mario Galaxy 3 Fan Trailer that's actually good. The reason I'm doing this is because there's so many other trailers online that just make me cringe. Don't get offended by this though fellow Galaxy 3 Trailer Makers, there's always room for improvement...

The song fits so well, because it isn't trying to be more grandioius and instead fits the idea of Super Mario Galaxy 3 being a return to something you've missed for the last 10 years... It has such a nostalgic feeling. If they ever made a Super Mario Galaxy 3, they should really try to focus on the space theming, as the atmosphere of SMG1 is something that I still yearn for to this day

Welcome to the club you can never leave. We never meet, only monitor how much super mario galaxy you play on a weekly basis. Don’t ask us how we know, it’d be a pain to explain the camer- I mean... methods...

I think this is a wonderful trailer you made but in reality Nintendo won’t be returning to SMG anytime soon or possibly never. I’m glad that there is still a community that still surrounds this game and with all of what this community has done gives something better than an SMG3 :)

I don’t think Galaxy needs another sequel, the second took a lot of songs, bosses and general ideas from the first already so it’s clear it would be a lot of work to do for an outcome that feels half baked. However a game like this would be awesome to see, I’d just prefer another out there unique 3D Mario game or possibly sunshine remaster
I don’t think we’ll ever see a proper remaster of sunshine, obviously because of 3D All Stars. Though a sequel to sunshine would be incredible
Considering the time gap, they could make a galaxy 3 aimed at adults that grew up with the first 2. As if every level were designed for people who beat the perfect run and kept the challenge rolling. They could even call it like super mario galaxy 3: nova challenge or something to denote that it's more difficulty oriented

@@lordroy88 Yeah but, aside from like 3 areas, Odyssy's 2D sections had 2d-Mario-style gameplay too, SMB1-style and with SMB1 sprites, with a run button, tile-based jump height, etc., rather than still maintaining the 3D Mario style of gameplay but in 2D like in Galaxy's 2D sections, with the full 3D moveset and behaviors and stuff. So it's not the same, and the times when Odyssey does do Galaxy-style 2D areas are super rare, there's only like 3 that I can remember.

For some reason some times I would actually dream about super Mario galaxy 3 levels like last night the galaxy was like a under gound water base were you had to be fast because the base was breaking in pressure and was flooding

Okay, so the main "problems" with this trailer (though it is definitely better than so many other fanmade SMG3 trailers) are first, that there's Isle Delfino, the main problem being that it's hard in an actual Galaxy 3 for that to work context-and-story-wise, since the game is...well...in space, so just seeing pure model-import/remakes of Isle Delfino in a Galaxy game is just something that would not be in there. The thing with Whomp's Fortress and Twisty Trials in Galaxy 2 is that, while they're both from 64 and Sunshine, those stages in particular were already just floating out in a vast void so they work, and if you'd wanna set up some canon you could say that they were always far out in space and that the paintings just warped you way out there. But Isle Delfino does not have any of those attributes, so as much as I think it's really cool, it's just not something you'd see in this form in a real Galaxy 3 trailer.
Second, that really scuffed "dive" move lol, totally not obvious it's just the long jump with the unused dive animation applied to it lol.
And finally, this trailer STILL uses that weird crappy fanmade Galaxy 3 logo that's like 7 years old at this point and doesn't look remotely official in quality lol. Definitely need a new Galaxy 3 logo that actually looks official, because we've been using this not-so-good one for long enough now (no offense to whoever the heck made that logo originally though).
So...only the first point is actually fairly serious, the other two are little nitpicks and poking fun lol, so all in all, pretty good trailer, and definitely not a cringey one this time!

there are two whole galaxy games and my brain still has the audacity to be upset that there won't be a third one

A third SMG would need to deliver entirely new creative and wacky gameplay ideas as well as a god-tier story to tell, and that's something that mods simply don't have

Odyssey 2 can wait Sunshine 2 can DEFINITELY wait, Super Mario Galaxy 3 needs to be a launch title on the next Nintendo Switch! Like Odyssey was an amazing 3D game and it was a jam but there was just something so special about the galaxy games. And even going back and playing it again on switch. It's not nostalgia. There was just something so beautiful about it that not even Odyssey was able to replicate. Yes Odyssey had better gameplay and it was a beautiful looking game but there was just something about the charm and setting of the Galaxy games and the way it played that not even using Cappy beat.
