I just paused this video, stood up and threw away a filthy , very old hair brush I was carrying for years in my purse that i take at work every day. I had a brand new hair brush in the bathroom drawer being unused and collecting dust! Thank you so much for reminding. i was always embarrassed of that old brush but always forgot to take action!

So amazing Kelly 🙌 easy-peasy decluttering win and you have a new brush to use!

I want to add to this list:
    Gloves with holes
    Broken storage containers
Food storage containers with missing lids
Missmatched cutlery (if you have enough)
    Mugs with cracks
Vases that are too small or too big
That book you started reading but didn't like
Worn out pyjamas (especially when they have holes)
Towels with stains (animal shelters love to take towels and blankets!)
Cables for electronics you don't have anymore or broken cables (recycle if possible in your area)
Random trash you find along the way (wrappers, tissues, price tags, opened envelopes)
Biscuit tins that don't close properly
Accessories for things you no longer have - could be parts of something, but also things like trah bags that are too small or too big for your new trash can
Decor you never really cared for
Candles you don't like the smell of an candle holders you don't like - they seem to multiply!
    Fridge magnets
    Redundant hangers
Pens that don't work or don't work well
    Cleaning supplies you hate
Last but not least: Always take out the trash and do the small thing you stumble across. Make the phone call, write the email, hang the picture on the wall, list the thing on eBay, put the shirt in the laundry hamper, make the note in your calender, unload the dishwasher, put the clothes away. Acting on those small things is the best clutter prevention.

I’m glad this video was about decluttering the easy things, not the difficult sentimental things! I often hang on to “important” documents that seem important at the time, then a few months later no longer have any value. Decluttered!

When you mentioned broken crayons, I remembered making scribble cookies. You grate the crayons and put a variety of colors together in a muffin tin, then melt it in the oven. Take it out to cool then pop it out and you have some one-of-a-kind crayons. I have also heard of using crayons for color in your candles.

We have a little tote for "used" batteries that we use for holidays. Christmas and Halloween decorations use them easy. Once they get taken out of the decorations, they get recycled.

I’m definitely guilty of the frozen food. I always think I will eat it soon, but then it is left for another couple of months. I just feel guilty to throw away food 🥺. But you are right...I will defrost my freezer this month and throw away the food that is in there already for too long 😊. Thanks ❤

    • @MiaDanielle
      @MiaDanielle  Год назад +1

You can do it 🙌 And if you separate defrosting your freezer from the decluttering, you could achieve a quick win within 5 minutes!

Lol. I usually cook whatever was frozen (for God only knows how long lol) and “taste test” it. 😅😅. Most times it’s all fine. There were only a few times that it didn’t taste so good but never made anyone sick. Other times it’s at least good enough for cat treats (meats anyways). Then if they don’t eat it, the raccoons or strays prob will. 😂😂 It was really surprising to me how long some of that stuff lasted and was just fine. Lol.
