I just saw that my name was the first to be randomly drawn. Thank you very very much, Angela! I sent you my email address just now via the one you provided and have a plan to try to help some folks in need with it in my neighborhood. Ok, going back to the rest of the video now to collect more great tips for my home. Cheers :)
So much great information here. I made my own three lists while watching. One can know something needs done but remembering it when you have time is harder if it;s only in the memory portion of the brain so having something written down and even reminders of the task at hand are always important too to me.
Hey, Angela. 🌞 While listening to your decluttering list, I mentally checked those areas you mentioned, in order to see if there's need to go through now or when the last time I did it was. Also got rid of two pair of shoes and a purse. Yay! 😊
Loved these! Enjoying your videos and ideas so much, Angela, thank you! Definitely could add to the 2-4 hour list some spaces I am going to tackle eventually here: Front Porch - ours has mostly gardening and potted plant supplies, that don't take a ton of hard decisions, mostly just time. Visually it is the first thing anyone sees of our home, and I've been avoiding tackling it all year. Thanks for this video motivating me to just go for or today! Outdoor Shed (small) - When we last moved, we had a garage full of stuff, that got downsized to just a small shed at this house (no garage). We use regularly very little out there, so again, shouldn't be too hard on decisions, just time-consuming and need an extra person for moving/lifting heavier items. Refrigerator - Already declittered this earlier this year, and have a pretty good system going. Moving from opaque to more transparent storage containers for leftovers. Also a thought: move things around at times out of there "usual spot", so you can see if anything is getting tucked away back in the corners. We waste so much less food now. But, I do need to pull everything out a shelf at a time soon to clean the fridge a bit more. Freezer (large) - We have a large outdoor freezer, that needs cleaning, inside and out. Again, I decluttered it earlier this year, and have a good idea what's in there, but that said... if I haven't used something since that decluttering, it may need to go (or make a meal plan to use it now, if it is still good). Frozen food is tempting to hold onto indefinitely, but good flavors don't last that long in my experience. Keep up the great work, everyone!
Good tips. The toy and game closet looks nice. By the way, if you have a compost and a shredder, you could shred some of that paper (no waxy or glossy paper) and put it into the compost. It is the "brown" part of compost. I do that. It works.
Thank you for the decluttering ideas . I especially like how you made reference lists . This makes it so much easier to access or take a screenshot to have handy when decluttering begins . I will start with cookbooks :) one thing I disagree about is to ripping out pages of recipes you want to keep. .I suppose if you meant the cookbook is being thrown that would be ok , but nothing worse than going to a thrift store or garage sale & buying a cookbook & later finding it is missing recipes because of that ‘ripping out’ reason 🥴
I think I just do it all the time now. Lol. My most recents were clothing, reusable shopping bags, car stuff, kitchen storage items, storage bins, cat bed baskets, robot floor duster, cleaning supplies, tote bags. A lot of times I just consider everything that might need to go as I go through my day with my tasks. My weakest area is prob the bathroom tho. Lol. Idk why as I’m prob not “primping up” near as often as all the products in there would allude to. That and refinishing/paint supplies. Lol. I think also the most recent “system evolution” has been changing up the dish cleaning system (keeping up more frequently and adapting to the awesome Dawn power spray which I love love love…and I remake my own now and just refill the bottle…game changer for me lol). It takes a few seconds to just spray a few dishes and so it motivates me more Bcuz it’s so easy and quick. I had no idea how much a simple soap dish spray method would change my life. Ha ha. And Bcuz a whole bottle only requires about two squirts of dish soap, a bit of alcohol and water. I love that also as you can really make some dish soap last a long time that way and don’t waste so much of it. And prob also Bcuz my old kitty queen is likely getting near the end, and can/will only eat certain soft foods, so it’s like constant kitty saucer washing and the squirt bottle is such a life saver in that area. And Bcuz usually there’s a few other cats around also screaming for the “good stuff” and I’m now managing a couple of cats still at the end of the kitten stages. Lol. I try, but the cat mafia is a real thing tho. Lol. I just impromptu vacuumed out the back of the Jeep just before I went to run errands the other day. I also forfeited a meal out. Sat there in the car and ate a few snacks and bought a Snapple to go with it. Lol. So I think it’s just kind of sinking in that life is just easier when you take that five or ten minutes to just deal with things right away. I’m learning perhaps to just tackle one little bite at a time…kind of as I go and no longer view things as some overwhelming massive project. Like not having to wash the whole car or vacuum out the whole car at one time. (Soft top so I can’t just run it through a machine lol). Sometimes after the rain I just take a soft cloth and wipe the outside of the car down a bit. Lol. Well anyways. I think I can see myself in slo-mo kind of evolving again. Ha ha. Looking at myself like who is this girl? But I like her so it’s all good. Lol. I think maybe more and more like my grandma every day except she fed people and I feed animals. 😅😅 Well time to go now and boil up 10 lbs of chicken leg quarters as they’ll be after me soon and my Queen Coco will be hungry again. (And Bcuz it’s cheaper and less gross than using a bunch of canned cat food all the time and Bcuz chicken is pretty much their favorite and is 100% protein which staves off hunger longer and is better for them lol. But Coco basically has no teeth left so there is that. Lol).
Cat mafia!!! Ha! That is so funny! I’m sure your kitties very much enjoy the homemade food you create for them! And, making cleaning and decluttering a natural part of your day is great! I had to smile at the Jeep reference! We are a house full of Jeep lovers around here! ❤️
@@ArrowHillCottage Aw. Thanks. Ha ha. Omg. So cool. ✌️ I love my Jeep, but she can be a bit high maintenance also. 😅😅 I’ve always loved anything with a rag top tho. Wind in my hair and all that even tho I don’t do that as much lately. A story behind that I guess but not sure most folks would understand. I feel like it was a pretty good deal as I found an older one with super low mileage. So if I can keep the rust at bay and find “obsolete” parts, I should be ok for a very long time (and at some point my kid will likely make better “rugged” use of it. Lol). But as far as the engine goes and how little I run around, it could last 20 years at that rate. (If it doesn’t rust out. But recently I’ve had a guy give it all the once over and we got a lot of new stuff in there and got rid of a lot of rusty things). I would’ve been ok with something like a Geo Tracker, but couldn’t find one when it was time to get out of jalopy land. Lol. One reason I think moving up there with my kid (Raleigh NC area) would be great. Many reasons but I know also he will help me let the top down a lot more often (it’s all manual) 😅😅 But for now it’s easy enough to just take off the back side panels every once in awhile. 2004 Sahara. 😬 Starting mileage was under 14k. Lol. Years later still under 40k. Larger classic engine, which has potential to last over 299k (or so I hear lol but not the best on gas mileage). But yes. Cat mafia. It’s like they know when a lady is single for so long and such a sucker for their little cute faces and antics. They just know. 😅😅
This is great video and for motivating to declutter. I’ve been getting some storage things on Amazon. I’ve been using my gift cards that I received from my birthday last week.
Have you never heard of recycling?! It made me sick watching you shove all of that paper & stuff into one garbage bag instead of sorting it properly & recycling it. And I find it very hard to believe that your going to pull it all out later & go through it again. 🤬
@ArrowHillCottage and you're not explaining in the video, or even here, that you did any differently. Instead, you leave a comment like this?! That says a whole lot.
Congratulations to the giveaway winners! Be sure to email me to claim your prize!

@@ArrowHillCottage hmmm is it normal to have empty cabinet space? I feel like I need to fill it.
It seems to be that the more space there is to fill (cabinets or otherwise) our human tendency is to fill it! ❤️
