Awesome song and vibe, Aaliyah. People say his performance in Rio 1992 was also mindblowing with the crowd backing up his vocals. Wish I was born back then 😅
I was just hanging out with that beast that’s on the drums behind Sebastian, Robbie Affuso just a couple of weeks ago. We all went to high school together in Wallkill, NY. His younger brother’s Alan’s band was playing. He’s an excellent drummer in his own right. Super gracious guys. Thanks for all your wonderful reactions to all these great artists. Love your reactions. Bye friend!
Sebastian (Baz) Bach (not his real last name;) was Canadian, and he proved to sound even bettter live than in studio! Their ballad "I Remember You" at Wembley '91 is his very best vocals ever, btw!
@@Zapattack321 Along with many other Canadian entertainers, he became an American citizen soon after hitting it big-time here in the States. Jim Carrey, Norm Macdonald, and John Candy are my favorite former Canadians. God bless the Maples! 🍁
I don't know if you have reacted to Steelheart, but most singers are blown away with his voice an range, She's Gone is a good example of his high notes
These guys kind of got lumped into the "Hair Band" category by their record company and it's too bad because they were better than that. Their debut album was initially way heavier but the record company made them tone it down to be more commercially viable. The band made sure the second record was heavier as a result, the title track (Slave to the Grind) would be a great reaction along with "I Remember You" from the first album (as others have suggested). Great reaction as always!
As a musician, I’ve always felt that genre doesn’t matter. It’s the performance and the communication of emotion from performers to audience that is the core of what we do. So great to see you appreciating music from such varied performances
Nice, they had some big hits back several decades ago, this is one of their best. I suggest doing the official video sometime, great original song and mix. Keep on Rocking! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶
You should check out the song “In a Darkened Room” official video, it cuts to a live moment in the official video. The subject matter of the song is really dark, but it shows the depth the band had to tackle subjects in a “real” way and how brilliant Sebastian was at conveying the emotion of a song.
Yes One Guy Already Commented on Checking out (I Remember You.)...Really Showcases Sebastián Range...Also I Think he's Done some Broadway....Dr Jekyl or Something I Think..
Now you see why I have always loved Sebastian. His voice is real. Not made by computer or anything like that. He's purely genuine and I truly think he sounds better live than studio. One of the very few!!
Skid Row had some great high energy , Youth Gone Wild is another high energy song and Remember You is a song that really show cases Sebastian’s vocal capabilities. Thanks for producing your content , a good break during the week
Aaliyah great job with your reaction to the live performance of 18 alive from Skid Row this video is from there time opening up for the maine group that's why the croup it's feeling there performance.
Hi Aaliyah, I love that I see you branching out in Music to mold your vision, I'm now 65 but my first real endeavor into Music was at a very young age when I first sat in front of the TV, that big square box with pictures😁, when I saw The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show when I was 6and I fell in love with the fact that I wanted to be like them, a Musician, and I was, not that big😒, but I dreamed🤔
Sebastian was a standout in the singers of the 80's, he had a very strong vocal range unlike a lot of the posers who flooded the hair metal scene back then. Saw them with Bon Jovi and thought Skid row should have been the headliners. Any singer can sound good in the studio but pulling it off live without the aid of electronic support is the real deal. Your reaction to this shows you know greatness when you hear it. 🤘🎤🥁🎸
There lead singer at this time was Sabastian Bach who might know from his actions on the television show Gilmore girls and his stent on Broadway in Jerked & Hide..
I was at this concert, a young long haired, fresh faced 17 year old. Right near the front. Skid Row were phenomenal, was actually more impressed with their performance than Guns N’ Roses, who headlined. Great times 🤘🔥♥️
This song was one of my main jams way back in the day. The official music video had been released and was in heavy rotation. I recommend it for two reasons: 1.) you’ll get to hear Sebastian’s studio vocals, equally as impressive, and 2.) the video uses movie-like footage, dramatic enactments, to flesh out the story of the lyrics. I still love this song.
Aaliyah, Love your reaction channel. So... I don't know if you've ever watched a TV show called Gilmore Girls back in the day but Sebastian Bach was in that show for several years as a band member of Hep Alien. It was a band created for the show. Sebastian played a guitarist named Gil and that started in season 4 I believe. Anyway, some fun information for you. Have a great week ahead and keep up the great work reacting.
So awesome I was just watching your reaction to wasted time yesterday. Check out I remember you or even quicksand Jesus. Keep on bringing the 80s stuff, I really liked the reaction and review to nobody's fool from Cinderella!
I can not sing very well but my heart is with classic music/folk rock AND for hard rock/metal. And I think they had the same roots and/or struggles with the conservative societies
Hi Aailiya...just discovered your channel. I've been checking out your reactions to hear your observations and input...and your performances as well. Could you please react to "Come Sail Away" by Styx. Styx is a rock band from Chicago. Their roots trace back to 1961 when twin brothers John (drums) and Chuck (bass) Panozzo joined up with their neighbor Dennis DeYoung (vocals/keys). By 1970 they added two more guitarists John Curulewski and James "JY" Young. They released their first record in 1972. This song is one of their biggest hits from 1977. By then John C had left the band and was replaced by Tommy Shaw (vocals/guitar/songwriter). This is not live..just video footage sync'd over the studio recording. Dennis has one of the most pure tenor voices in Rock, and has a more traditional delivery/vocal style but he has the power and range that gave Styx it's signature sound combining elements of Hard Rock, Progressive Rock and Pop elements. Thanks. ruclips.net/video/e5MAg_yWsq8/видео.html

Sebastian Bach had the best pipes in Hard Rock imo. I was 16 in 1989 and played the hell out of their self-titled debut album on cassette. Please react to more Skid Row. My favorite songs of theirs are Wasted Time, 18 and Life, I Remember You, Sweet Little Sister, and Youth Gone Wild (in that order).
Sebastian was a powerhouse of a singer. He really wanted to be a heavier band but the record label picked their slower songs & lighted their sound to be more commercial. Then grunge came along and ended hair metal era. I saw Sebastian several times & too bad he didn’t have a longer career as he could really sing live unlike several other bands. Need more Pat Benatar and Fire & Ice. Powerhouse female rocker of this era!
Sebastion used to live about 15 minutes away from where I am now. He had a reputation of being a hard partier and getting thrown out of local bars. I forget how long ago it was, but during a rather devastating rain storm a lake across the street from his house breached its banks and his house got flooded out. Sadly he lost lots of his rock memorabilia and stuff the band had accumulated over the years.
1997 Valentine's Day and at Alpine Valley to boot, I went to see Van Halen & Collective Soul to open. Last second C. Soul cancelled. Replaced with Skid Row! Best unexpected gift I ever received. Show started lil late but then Skid Row walks out instead of C. Soul!? Lol priceless
