I’ve got the bigger side cutters, no problem with the pivot on them. I have damaged the cutting edge slightly cutting screws though so be wary of that.

Klein do make some nice tools. At about 2:26 you said the cushion grip screwdriver was not for the European market, but I brought one of those to see what it was like, and it is stamped both ASTM1505 for American market, and IEC60900 for European / UK market so it should be perfectly fine for use in the UK.
There are also several manufacturers that offer insulated tools with a different coloured layer beneath the outer one, either white or red - it isn't unique to Klein.

Hi mate I will double check that, I didn't say they weren't suitable though just that some company's are anal and will only let you use vfe certified tools. Or so over heard

@@danstoolroom7700 No worries, you are right that if the tools are only to ASTM standards that some companies, and probably the Health and Safety Executive, may challenge the use of them if there are equivalent items to UK accepted standards. A lot of the American manufactured items Have come across though will have dual ASTM and IEC standards, so it shouldn't be a problem.

i have wera and wiha 1000v vde tools, and here in the US they stand out because most of us Americans use Klein's

Actually there is no special European or American reg for insulated tools. They are all based on the international IEC 60900. The VDE certifies that the manufacturer in its manufacturing and testing procedures complies to this international reg, which is in Germany the DIN EN IEC 60900. In the UK it is the BS EN IEC 60900. These are the localisations of the international reg IEC 60900 for 1000V insulated tools. This regs change from time to time, now todays version is from 2018.
The other Klein screwdriver also has the VDE sign on the shaft 😉
The small Klein diagonal cutters didn't convince me. Had trouble cutting 1.5mm² fine stranded, instead of cutting it was ripping the fine strands. Solid conductors are no problem, but they don't like smaller fine stranded conductors. With the 8"model I have no issues, they also cut the smaller fine stranded wires without problems. I noticed this while replacing a plug on a vacuum cleaner, standard issue: The outer sheathing of the cable failed on the moulded plug so the wires were exposed.
For the big meter tails I would use cable shears instead of diagonal cutters. Using diagonal cutters will bring them out of shape, making it harder to fit ferrules on the fine stranded tails.
The thing with the cable shears: Absolutely normal, they all do this, no matter which manufacturer. After all these are shears. For the big cables almost every manufacturer, Klein also, makes ratcheting cable shears. And one thing: Never cut steel with cable shears, this also includes steel armour!

Yea, all the American insulated tools have the VDE-GS certification symbol as well--even Harbor Freight Quinn.

@@danstoolroom7700 you see I make very good use of my meters and stuff and 30 bucks is pretty steep increase in price and even though that the tools are not rated for voltage my journeyman who blew up my f****** lineman's but she paid for new ones did not get shocked with them so yeah it's not rated for it I wouldn't work on live electricity with it but I don't see the increase in price being worth it if you use your safety equipment properly and you check for shared neutrals you're pretty solid
