I had a friend who was Lutheran but I grew up Fundamentalist Baptist. Apparently grape juice for communion and baptism.not.having much importance is strange. And by importance I mean that we don't believe baptism seals or has anything to do with salvation.

If I’m remembering correctly, Benjamin is also biologically Rachel‘s son.
That’s the main reason why during the whole Joseph story ark in Egypt, Jacob was so against Benjamin going with them.

Was going to comment this but see you already have. Little facts like this are important for the story later. Also Rachel died when Benjamin was born thus Jacob was very attached with Joseph and Benjamin. They are all he had left of Rachel.

Could y’all please do the Corinthians? It started my journey back to God many years ago and 2nd Corinthians 12 10 is tattooed on me to remind me when I’m feeling weak and down trodden is when God is all the stronger for me. I got it the first time I tried to get sober, didn’t last long but after 4 more years and 7 years in total of addiction and darkness, my daughter was born and was the light that has for more than 8years kept the shadows at bay along with God. He has always been in my heart I just couldnt face how much I had let Him, my family, and myself down for so long. Guilt and shame another tool of the devil. I started watching these randomly one day and it 100% made me cry and reminded me Christ died to take that sin and shame from me and God loves me just how I am flaws and all no matter what. I know y’all hear this all the time but thank you and God bless you ❤

Keep in mind that Abraham pimped out his wife to King Abimelech "because she was too beautiful," so much so that he would kill Abraham for her if he knew she was Abraham's wife. She was in her 90's, he was over 100. So they go into the nation and settle down, claiming to be brother and sister. Abimelech then gets a dream from God, telling him she's married and that he will die if he doesn't relinquish her to her husband, which he quickly does.
This is the wild stuff that they don't teach in Sunday school. It's also crazy to think that this was within 10 generations of Noah. It's fascinating.
Edit: It gets wilder. The above was the second time he did something similar, in Genesis 20. He also did the same thing about 24 years prior, that time involving the Pharaoh of Egypt.

The younger generation is not averse to it they just believe that alcohol can lead to sin if one gets drunk.

I was raised Lutheran and we had real wine. I now go to a nondenominational (mostly baptist) church that does the grape juice thing. Personally I prefer the wine route, however I understand why the grape juice is used instead based on the cultural alcohol problem the USA has. The church does not want to cause one of their members to stumble if that member has struggled with alcohol use in the past.

1:42:ish…prayer is not a sacrament, Catholics don’t teach that. You might be thinking of confession or conflating teaching about the Real Presence. Uniform prayers are designed to avoid heresy, but you can just free flow too.

1:09:35 in my congregation we don’t the priest father exactly for that reason, and a priest isn’t really supposed to be a mediator, but more of someone who has more experience, understands the teachings and kind of a shepherd. The priest at my church said that priests have been bad shepherds for a long time, so now he wants to be a good one. He’s really nice.
Edit: when I’m say “He’s really nice” I’m talking about God. I don’t know why it came out as me talking about the priest. I’m tired mates
1:18:14 in Quebec, “colonizer” is the equivalent, and it means idiot. “Èy, Écoute, Colon!”
1:25:36 my fav verse, 2 sam 12:7-12, MSG “. And if that hadn’t been enough, I’d have gladly thrown in much more. So why have you treated the word of God with brazen contempt, doing this great evil? You murdered Uriah the Hittite, then took his wife as your wife. Worse, you killed him with an Ammonite sword!”
Why is the Ammonite sword making it worse 😂

Because he used the enemies of God to kill a servant of God. He didn't even do it himself.
