This interpretation of the dialogue between God and Moses is actually pretty legit when you consider the scriptures say "God spoke to Moses face to face, AS A MAN TALKS TO HIS FRIEND"

I wonder, since God takes evil and uses it for good, and we know knowledge has been an issue since the beginning... the tree of knowledge, the fallen angels teaching technology...and because magic used to be so much more common...maybe God's people had such a hard time believing in the miracles because they just didn't know how miraculous some of these things were. Maybe the more we learn about our world now, the easier it is to see the impossibility of things without God. We've gotten so out of hand with our quests for knowledge and technology and we're just too smart we think to believe in magic and miracles, when we look at the universe coming from nothing or a human surviving something they shouldn't be able to ectr, we can be pretty confident that we're looking at something that is impossible without an all powerful God. I know seeking knowledge led me to God. I just kept getting brought back to him when searching for answers about the mysterious things in our world.
I wouldn't say knowledge itself has been the issue. I wouldn't be surprised if God looks down on people discovering things like meltwater pulse 1b, the copper tablet found on Mount Ebal, the actual, indisputable fact his son did walk our earth, and he's like "good job, you're finding the explanation of everything in Earth itself still". Then again I could understand his offense if it's done without faith to begin with too. On the 15. June 1219, king Valdemar Victory of Denmark was on a crusade to christianize the baltic peoples of what today is Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. He established a castle at what today is called Tallinn (Which apparently means dane-castle in estonian) and here he was attacked by the estonians. The battle was going badly for the danes until a red cloth with a white cross on it fell from the sky. In some versions of the story, it is said that a voice spoke from the heavens saying that as long as this cloth was held high, the danes would win, somewhat like the story of Constantine the great and "In this sign you shall conquer". The archbishop of Lund; Anders Sunesen, took the cloth to a hill and held it high, inspiring the Danes to victory, but his arms grew tired and he dropped the cloth, after which the Estonians were once again winning. Two knights came to help and with the bishop on his knees, with one knight to hold up each of his arms, he kept the cloth held high and the danes eventually won the battle. Valdemar would adopt this red cloth with a white cross; the "Dane-cloth"/"Dannebrog", as Denmark's official flag and it is to this day the oldest continously used national flag.

The notable exception to this rule is when Jesus breathes on His disciples and says "Receive the Holy Spirit..." Some rabbinical opinions (pre-Christian) therefore say that human life begins at birth. This is along the line of your thought, but it would be incorrect to say that every baby that draws breath has received the Holy Spirit, who comes to the one who has faith. The act of breathing on a person is still used sometimes when a man is ordained or when a child is baptized. It is common in pagan ritual that breathing is used to channel or receive spirits of various kinds, normally with the intent that their spirit would be superseded by a more powerful spirit, often to grant the power of divination or some kind of special physical ability. When we think of concepts like chi, we are operating with similar ideas like you said, however the eastern religions tend to de-personalize the spirits. I love this series and it’s taught me a lot but I strongly disagree with the “once saved, always saved” thing. If you walk away than you forfeit the gift the God give you. You need to repent and come back. Not saying doubting does that but if you straight up walk away from the faith and don’t come back then God is clear about names being blotted out of the book of life.
This is where our free will comes in! However, I do believe that many who walk away from the faith eventually come back through God’s grace as long as we are willing. It’s like, God will open and close doors in our life and we can choose to step through or ignore all God has for us. He has a plan for us, and he knows who all will be saved. When it seems hopeless to us God’s grace is sufficient.
Jesus says if you believe in him then you have eternal life and will never come into condemnation (John 5:24). Also Saul and Lot both have bad endings but they are still in heaven. Also everyone starts out in the book of life. When you get saved your name isn't added, it's just never blotted out. And you're removed if you die unsaved or do something unforgivable like remove from God's word. "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels." (Rev 3:5)
