Peter has always been my favorite apostle. Started out as a rough, gruff fisherman. With the Holy Spirit guiding him, he became an eloquent and persuasive speaker It took a lot of bravery to live and die as he did. I'm grateful he stood up to to Simon Magus. There are still a lot of selfish, power hungry "leaders" in the world, trying to lead us believers astray. We must pray for discernment.

The Holy Spirit lives inside us after we are saved, guaranting us a place in heaven. The mystery of the five crowns after you are saved.
Not only is our government taking away our constitution that was founded on IN GOD WE TRUST but many churches are changing and not preaching the word of God at all. They accepting the evil and bringing it into our churches. We all need to pray for discernment even with those saying they are preaching Gods word. I love reading the epistles of Peter. A simple fisherman from Galilee whom Jesus picked to found his Church. Cephas the rock lived his missionary life knowing what awaited him, yet he never once shirked his sacred duty to take the Good News abroad. May Christ grant us all the strength and courage to do the same when persecution comes to our doors.
This was a great clarity for me. Part one and two. As I am learning about the Journey of Simon Peter. I have a better understanding. My testimony is strengthened thru these conversations and through the process of learning about Jesus Christ, my whole life. (Matthew 28:18-20) God chose ordinary men and women: fishermen, shepherds, noblewomen, businesswomen to spread the Gospel. They did not share a complicated message, either. They shared and were martyred for sharing the simple message that Christ saved & is saving us. That message (which has been the consistent message throughout the Bible) is so powerful that it doesn’t need to be “hidden” because most of the world will not believe it (Matthew 7:21-23)

The "ROCK" mentioned in Mt.16:18 is the unwavering FAITH Peter expressed in Jesus being the CHRIST-the Son of God.
Jesus thereby indicated that his Church would consist of those who demonstrated unwavering faith in Jesus' status as Son of God having the power to liberate men from bondage to delusion. And upon such unwavering faith in him, Jesus would build the kingdom of God (his church) on earth.
These words of Jesus never referred to any specific religious institution (theocracy) claiming to be the Christian Church.
The "KEYS" is a reference to the esoteric spiritual techniques by which Jesus taught his disciples how to 'go within' and unlock the higher centres of consciousness to enter the highest heaven-Cosmic Consciousness.
The handing over of the keys to Peter to "bind or lose..." means, to INITIATE disciples. By this declaration Jesus made it known that Peter would be his formal (authorized) SUCCESSOR who had his consent to transfer his original 'christian' teachings and esoteric techniques-in their pure form-to all who sought to become disciples of Christ once he ascends to heaven.
Unfortunately, these original "keys" gradually were 'lost' due to the lack of initiated disciples who were worthy of being declared Successors to the original teachings of Christ. Thereafter, the theology-based religious institution, posing as the Church of Christ, compiled a selected part of the lost teachings of Christ into the Holy Bible.
