This video saved me. For years I lived in sin and for half my life I struggled with porn addiction. After hear Isaiah's telling of the passion, I repented and gave myself to Jesus. Since that night I left that awful sin in the past and the temptation is gone. My life has gotten 1000 percent better. I'm so grateful to be saved. Jesus is King. God Bless you guys. Your changing lives.
Remember. Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness. To him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness
Funny to say Isaiah talking sbout god on his channel is what turned me to God . Baught a bible and started reading it myself . Never been happier . Thank you wendi
THIS!!! He pointed out meanings I had never heard put together. The uniqueness of his biblical understanding with Aidens' sprinkling in history and cultures of the time... its the best version I've heard!
I'm not even Christian and I felt very moved by the pure passion Isiah tells this story with. This always spoke more to me than a flat retelling, you can tell he truly, deeply believes. Keep it up man, the world needs more people like you ❤
Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Ya but barely. Supposedly the Roman's were spread thin in that area. And he was on thin ice with Caesar. So he was kinda backed into a corner on this. And Jesus basically told him not to think too hard on it. There wasn't anything anyone could do to stop the mob.
He was in-between a rock and a hard place. He was a pagan and didn't want to execute Christ, and Christ even acknowledged this. He still sinned by not being brave and giving in to his fear of rome and the pharisees and saducees. Christ, our king told him who has the greater sin, you or them. And these things had to happen anyway
"O Death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" --1 Cor.15:55 "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing." --Rev. 5:12
I hate that I was unable to catch this stream live. I was born on Easter so it's always been my favorite holiday and this was a beautiful telling of the resurrection by two of my favorite creators.
Wow!!! Wendigoon knocked it out of the park! I have to admit I was kinda worried in the first few minutes of the video he looked kinda withdrawn like he was going to sit this one out. But I guess he was in the garden psyching himself into what he was about to do. Well maybe that was too much, but man what a delivery. Thank you guys all three of you sooo happy weird bible is back!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
This has by far been the most impactful podcast I have ever listened to. The ways it has helped me with my faith is hard to express. Many feel the same. Please keep it up
There's so much about the Bible that makes people emotional because it's both so beautiful and so humbling to have a savior who died for us and loves each of us so much. I was crying right along with Isaiah.
I still cry when I hear Isaiah talk of Christ speaking to Mary of Magdalena... a woman that the world was a place she was alone and worthless, to be not only treated by Christ and a friend, but also given the absolute GIFT of sharing that the Lord has risen❤ it is a story that means EVERYTHING and makes me KNOW that Jesus is my Lord, my friend and my SAVIOUR
I've always found the character and actions of Pontius Pilate so interesting throughout the Gospels, especially within the Gospel of John. On the one hand, he's a politician and a Roman, a foreigner sent to oversee a part of the Roman Empire. The Hebrews have every reason to despise them for occupying their Holy Land and he has every reason to look down on them as simply more troublemakers who don't submit to Roman supremacy. And yet it seems like he does everything within his power to avoid this unnecessary death. It shows that even if Pilate didn't believe that Jesus was the Son of God, at least not at first, he certainly knew that He was innocent, or at least not deserving of death. You get a sense for his shock and surprise at how brutally the Pharisees want Jesus dealt with. Crucifixion was one of the most painful, agonizing methods of execution, reserved for those who had committed serious offenses and needed to be made an example of. Even as he washes his hands and sentences Jesus to death, Pilate did so begrudgingly, not believing the man before him has done anything deserving of such pain. It's almost like he's apologizing to Jesus when they speak, trying to tell Him that he wishes it could be another way but it seems that both of them are bound to this path. It makes Pontius Pilate so much more than a "bad guy" of the Bible, some secondary antagonist in the story of Christ's betrayal. You can almost feel his inward struggle between doing what he knows is right versus what he has to in order to keep order within his province. Realistically, do I think that Pilate knew or realizes who Jesus truly was in the end? Probably not. But he certainly knew that Jesus did not deserve to die on that cross from a legal perspective, and anyone who tries everything they can to NOT condemn an innocent man despite having the power to do so on a whim has, at least in my opinion, and honorable heart.
Very well said. This whole thing just speaks to the fact that the Bible is a book of stories that ACTUALLY happened. All of the nuances of what people want and feel are REAL. These people were hungry, cracked jokes, tried to get a good job in their community, got confused, they're real people. All of these stories follow people that God wanted to share with us, and just from the honestly condensed text we see a living breathing society of people that the "main" character live with. 1 Samuel is probably my favorite right now for pure storytelling.❤️❤️
His passion while reading and telling the Easter Story is better than any sermon on this I have heard since I was a child. It is a blessing to have heard this.
I am in the midst of my first bible read-through and listening to these podcasts throughout the process is truly enriching the experience. Thank you guys for the passion you bring to the bible and the insights you provide which I had not considered. This listener appreciates the work.
This episode couldn't have come at a better time. I was going through an intense bout of doubt. So, I put this video in the background and played some video games. (The games were Mystia's Izakaya and Hotline Miami, btw.) I feel more assurance now. Thank you, guys.
I've never gotten emotional listening to the resurrection until I heard Isaiah speak about it. He makes it real. This series is one of my favorites of all time. Love you guys! Happy Easter!!! He is Risen!!!!
Watched this Easter morning. I wasn’t able to make it to church this Easter but Isaiah’s retelling was a better sermon than I could’ve gotten anywhere. Thank you three for bringing God to me this Sunday. Have a blessed day
“But go to my brethren, and say unto them: I ascend unto my Father, and your Father, and to my God, your God.” “Three times you denied me, three times you are restored.” I legit cry every time I hear and read these
Thank you Isaiah for your telling the story of resurrection, Easter. Your own emotion touched my heart on this most beautiful and important story. Very wonderful. Very moving. I appreciate you.
hearing isaiah talk about anything biblical has connected with me and made me feel closer to God than any sermon from any preacher aside from the night i was saved im so thankful that someone with such passion has the platform that he does because he is the best representation that i’ve seen of what i feel a christian should be
As Christians we should all aspire to have the love for Christ that Isaiah displayed here; Never before have I heard such a beautiful and passionate telling of the Easter story
We’re all lucky Wendi is so devoted to like, standard Christianity. Dude could cult us all up. It’s always so interesting listening to these as an atheist who was raised very secularly. Thanks y’all😊
i don't believe in god at all but you guys made me actually listen and understand religious people to some capacity for the first time in my 26 years. thank you for making me more open-minded!
We know it’s hard balancing all the things and how little this makes opposed to the other content I just truly do appreciate you spending the time on us. Something about your energy is just so infectious you mean so much to millions of souls and god truly does shine through people who have true love for Christ
It’s crazy to me that the best Easter sermon I’ve ever heard was from a goofy RUclipsr named wendigoon holding a comically large Bible. Nearly brought me to tears. I’ll definitely listen to this again for Easter
Catching this late, gotta love waking up at 4am for no reason, but at least i have the most entertaining bible study podcast ever to keep my spirits up
Absolutely amazing stream, been a long time since I cried like that. Couple fun facts, the "guards" stationed around the tomb would've numbered between 16-20 troops depending on which century they were pulled from, and the wording on how the stone was rolled away implies that the rock was rolled up and over the tomb. This means that 16-20 of the best trained soldiers in the world were scared out of their minds by a bright glowing man shoulder-pressing a boulder over a hill. (relatable)
25:11 Something that i always find is glossed over, is that Peter, James, and John weren't just sleeping because they were tired. In my version of the Bible, it says "And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow". They were sleeping because they were depressed. Their teacher, savior, and friend was about to die and there was nothing they could do to stop it. And i truly find it heartbreaking. 54:32 One firm belief that i hold is that God did furthermore put the decision to deliver Jesus from his sacrifice into the hands of men. Pilate had the choice outright to set him free. His wife even came to him and told him "Have nothing to do with that just man, for i have suffered much in a dream because of him". I believe that was a crossroads of sorts. Pilate had the choice to listen to his wife, but instead chose to do what the people wanted over his warning.
1:23:56 Another aspect that kind of hit one day was that one of the events that took place during Jesus' death was that the temple's veil was ripped. Now its a custom that when a Hebrew is mournful or repentant of something, they would tear there shirts open. I believe this was God adopting a human custom to show that this event was heartbreaking for him... That he'd have to see his son die in such a painful and slow way.
Thank you Isaiah for showing us your passion for The Lord. It was beautiful to listen to.(as I normally consume yalls videos at work). Both of yall are shinning examples and encouragement for me on my renewed walk with Christ and have both helped me tremendously in renewing my faith!
thank you so much for such a beautiful, emotive and historically accurate account of the cross. you have truly captured the majesty of Jesus!! I've been watching this podcast since it started and i've listened to every episode countless times, about 2 years ago now you guys really changed how I viewed my faith, and at the end of last year I have fully surrendered myself to Christ and He has worked miracles on me. So thankful for you guys, God bless you all!! also i entered this video fully knowing Isaiah was gonna cry hahaha
Dang. Listening to this at work was risky evidently. I managed to keep it together when Isaiah was getting emotional at the story but got thrown over the edge with the lotr quote.
Such a passionate and amazing Easter story! I showed this to my family and they said it was their favorite Easter story yet. If you guys ever read the comments, I’d love to see you guys go over Paul’s story (any part of his story, but especially Acts). It’s a long shot, but I bet there are loads of history and passion to Paul’s story
Binged through the playlist of all the weird bible episodes over the course of a day- This one. This was the one that broke me. "Rabboni" just opened the floodgates on my eyes, just AHH, good job, Wendigoon, lol
Found this so beautiful and moving to listen to. Isaiah's telling of the story of Christ's death and resurrection meant more to me than I thought it would. Thank you all.
Also! 1:29:32 the veil of the temple was rent in two!! Meaning that we no longer need a sacrifice and priest to enter into the pressence of God for us. Our high preist is Christ, and he dwells in us by His grace. The foreberance of God.
It’s my understanding that that LotR quote wasn’t actually Tolkien. It was added by the writers for the films. It’s really good though. I love LotR. The part that gets me is the houses of healing when Aragorn heals Faramir and Faramir immediately recognizes Aragorn as his king. The symbolism there is awesome.
If you decide to use the excuse to buy chocolate eggs and do the egg excuse of "oh prosperity" thing and bunny "let's have fun" thing, yeah you will make it a pagan holiday. If you decide to pay respects to Jesus Christ's by taking a couple of hours of your day, or spent your day in personal/group prayer and/or eat bread and drink a wine (or something with/of grapes if you can't buy a wine) then you are doing it right. It's up to the people to decide how they want to do, the order and message is there, God allows people to do what they want to and we are all judged for it. Eggs and bunnies has nothing to do with Jesus, Idk why it is so difficult for people to understand everything on this world is tainted with sin and deception one way or the other.
My rec on Easter movie viewing is "Risen (2016)", starring Joseph Fiennes. It is a story about a Roman soldier who is assigned to investigate the disappearance of Jesus' body, on fear of an uprising. Clavius goes around interviewing the various followers of Jesus, and such Romans as one of the guardsmen assigned at the tomb, until he unexpectedly encounters Jesus in a house in the Jewish district, along with his apostles. The sum total of both his investigation and meeting Jesus makes him decide to follow Jesus, helping Him and the apostles avoid the raid. He witnesses a healing and Jesus ascension, and heads off on his own travels as the other apostles are also heading out. I did not sit and watch it solidly, at the time Mum watched it, but what I picked up of it made a really interesting story. I like that it is more the POV of an outsider, a Roman looking at the situation and puzzling through it, to eventually find something special and fore-swear his Roman polytheistic beliefs in favour of Christ.
One thing that always makes me cry as a grown man, comes from Tolkien, but is used frequently by an amazing author: Nick Cole. He uses the phrase, "One day, everything sad, will come untrue."
A really good book that deals with mystery cults, neoplatoism, and gnosticism is "The Gospel and other Greeks" by Ronald Nash. Also great job on the retelling of the crucifixion and resurrection.
30:40 Hmmm, just like modern times. The weapon of war at the time, the sword, was illegal for citizens to own but Jesus says it's important to own one for self defense whether or not it's legal. I wonder how this relates to modern times.
Man i could listen to Isiah talk about the bible all day. Im not christian nor have i read the scripture but ive been meaning to for 15 years i really ought not put it off any longer. Anyways happy easter may everyone be safe this weekend.
As a former enemy of God, rescued by grace that I can't comprehend, the image of our precious savior washing Judas' feet with full knowledge of what's to come... That's my Jesus!❤🎉
In all truth Isaiah's telling of the Easter story is as good or better than any I've ever heard. It's been said already, but the reverence and emotion he tells it with reminds me that God is with us. There is no need to despair for he has risen.
Thank you, Lord, for loving us so much and so generously; to give us Your Precious Son as an innocent sacrifice to cleanse us, so that we might be reunited with You in eternal glory. Christ is King.
The reason for eggs at Easter is very simple. Through most of Christianity, and still in some traditions, Easter/Pascha comes after forty days of Lent. During Lent believers were supposed to fast from meat among other things. So your chickens have been producing eggs for the last six weeks, and now the fast is over and you can finally eat them. And you have a lot of them. You're gonna have some crazy egg parties. Yay meat!
Real men get misty-eyed from the glory of God
Christ is King
He is risen
Happy Easter!
easter is still a day away 🤓
Amen
This video saved me. For years I lived in sin and for half my life I struggled with porn addiction. After hear Isaiah's telling of the passion, I repented and gave myself to Jesus. Jesus is King. God Bless you guys. Your changing lives.
That's amazing! Good for you.
Fantastic! Welcome a new brother!
It's wonderful how quickly Christ's peace washes over, eh? Now comes the rest of your life.
Welcome, brother 🙏
Praise the Lord brother, so glad to see another man added to the kingdom of Christ
Remember. Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
To him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness
Isaiah’s passion telling the Easter Story was better than any sermon I’ve ever been to. So blessed I could catch this live. 🙏🏼💪🏼🔥🗣️😎✝️
One of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard
Funny to say Isaiah talking sbout god on his channel is what turned me to God . Baught a bible and started reading it myself . Never been happier . Thank you wendi
THIS!!! He pointed out meanings I had never heard put together. The uniqueness of his biblical understanding with Aidens' sprinkling in history and cultures of the time... its the best version I've heard!
Same
I tear up every time I hear Isaiah read Scripture. His reverence makes me feel closer to God, than I ever have while sitting in any pew.
I'm not even Christian and I felt very moved by the pure passion Isiah tells this story with. This always spoke more to me than a flat retelling, you can tell he truly, deeply believes. Keep it up man, the world needs more people like you ❤
Trust Christ as your Savior. Every Word of the Bible is true and pure.
Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
I don’t think that there’s anything more worthy to get emotional about than Christ’s resurrection ❤✝️
Pilot: “Not my problem, I wash my hands of this.”
My guy you are IN CHARGE
Ya but barely. Supposedly the Roman's were spread thin in that area. And he was on thin ice with Caesar. So he was kinda backed into a corner on this. And Jesus basically told him not to think too hard on it. There wasn't anything anyone could do to stop the mob.
He was in-between a rock and a hard place. He was a pagan and didn't want to execute Christ, and Christ even acknowledged this. He still sinned by not being brave and giving in to his fear of rome and the pharisees and saducees. Christ, our king told him who has the greater sin, you or them. And these things had to happen anyway
I think it's extremely clear that Pilot is just a judge, watching the jury condemn a man he knows is God to death despite his best efforts.
"O Death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" --1 Cor.15:55
"Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing." --Rev. 5:12
Powerful sermon from Wendigoon. Thank you for being so passionate when talking about the Lord.
Isiah's ferver when discussing the Crucifixion reminds me of my father's. Good Friday was his favourite day of the year.
Cried during Isaiah talking about Jesus seeing Peter and him swimming to the shore after his resurrection and I’m not ashamed to say it
yea same. could kinda hold up during the mary thing, but peter killed me lol.
I'm an atheist and that broke me I'm legit in tears😂
man i don’t know if i stopped crying the whole time he was talking
Praise be to the risen God.

Nothing more wholesome and heartwarming than Weird Bible after wrestling with the boys. Thank you guys for helping bring the light back into my life
I first watched this stream Friday at work and had to go to the bathroom to dry my eyes, a beautiful painting of the Kings victory
i don't believe in god at all but you guys made me actually listen and understand religious people to some capacity for the first time in my 26 years. thank you for making me more open-minded!
Thank you, Isaiah. I feel the same way. I often have to hide my tears during mass. Maybe if I just let it show more people would understand.
I think it is pretty symbolic that Barabbas was spared because of Jesus. Showing that even the worst sinners will be saved by his sacrifice.
i remember finishing Mathew a couple months ago and i was definitely weeping. god bless you all✝️

About to get on a midnight shift, sees new pod, is very happy to work
Kinda glad I didn't see the notification when it came out for the same reason, about to do an 11-4 shift 😂
We are so back! He has risen!
Binged through the playlist of all the weird bible episodes over the course of a day-
This one.
This was the one that broke me.
"Rabboni" just opened the floodgates on my eyes,
just AHH, good job, Wendigoon, lol
Found this so beautiful and moving to listen to. Isaiah's telling of the story of Christ's death and resurrection meant more to me than I thought it would. Thank you all.
The best part of each month, hope you guys have a great Easter
Isaiah's retelling of the Easter story was so beautiful. I teared up when he did
I love this. Thank you guys for being so excited, interested and reverent of Christand what He has done for us. Love from Missouri.
I love the discussion of Scripture and the history surrounding it. Thank you for a wonderful lesson.
Also! 1:29:32 the veil of the temple was rent in two!! Meaning that we no longer need a sacrifice and priest to enter into the pressence of God for us. Our high preist is Christ, and he dwells in us by His grace. The foreberance of God.
Yay new episode of the weird Bible podcast I love this stuff and I appreciate all the work y'all put in to these
What an AMAZING conversation ❤ 🙏
Thank you, gentlemen
This is good guys! I like that yall are just normal dudes talking about the bible! Thanks for putting yourselves out there.
This is how Christianity should be teached, you guys bring what so many figures in my life can't (true passion)!!! ❤❤
Listen to this is the only time I’m teared up listening to Bible stories
1:53:23 for when people tell you Easter is pagan
@@Beta_Mixes tbh, use the days after Easter to do all of that, considering the week after the day of Easter is "discount chocolate week" anyways lol
Missed the livestream, been busy for a month, but finally listening at the end of Holy Week ☦️
This is about to make me cry at work
It’s hard to hit my targets in War Thunder when I’m crying with Isaiah in his retelling
I want a double portion of Isaiah's love for Christ
I want Helldivers lore! Also, I'm super happy that you guys are back.
I dont tear up very often, but isaiah describing mary magdalene's reuniting with christ got me
The moment Jesus tells Judas to do what he needs to do, I’m pretty sure the Bible says that an evil spirit entered him
Doggone Wendigoon! Making me cry at work haha. Thank y’all for videos to listen to while I work.
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
30:40 Hmmm, just like modern times. The weapon of war at the time, the sword, was illegal for citizens to own but Jesus says it's important to own one for self defense whether or not it's legal. I wonder how this relates to modern times.
Just realized it’s almost three hours absolutely love when y’all go longer!!!!
I'm surprised they didn't mention the garden streaker in mark 14
Man i could listen to Isiah talk about the bible all day. Im not christian nor have i read the scripture but ive been meaning to for 15 years i really ought not put it off any longer. Anyways happy easter may everyone be safe this weekend.
can't wait to watch but I know i'm gonna cry like a baby
As a former enemy of God, rescued by grace that I can't comprehend, the image of our precious savior washing Judas' feet with full knowledge of what's to come... That's my Jesus!❤🎉
In all truth Isaiah's telling of the Easter story is as good or better than any I've ever heard. It's been said already, but the reverence and emotion he tells it with reminds me that God is with us. There is no need to despair for he has risen.
1:46:54 - 1:47:09 I am going to unironically use this in those times
One of the best episodes thus far. Happy Easter.
I love this channels content, and hope it continues and reaches many people ! ❤️
He is Risen!
Yay meat!
The "Lost Years" of Christ, between 12 and 30, I think He was living a quiet life as a carpenter.
Thank you guys.
Happy easter everyone. We are truly blessed that our saviour died for our sins
