i got this recently and unless i did something wrong, you CANT build all variations straight out of the box. There is not enough torsos as far as i remember, or legs. I had to make a choice which gunners i make before. Spreadsheet lists 12 Kasrkin, but parts allow you to build 10.
I'm actually seriously considering getting this team right after I finish work. Lore note, lasguns are not actually silent! There's a crack of superheated air when they're fired and the distinctive smell of ozone, so you'd both hear and smell that sniper if he takes a shot.
In lore kasrkin actually do employ “silencers” for their guns. Idk how it works, but it is mentioned in either the codex or shadowvaults book I can’t remember
@@CanYouRollaCritindeed, I still think they are gonna absolutely slap with their team rule+the AP1 on crits thing. An entire team with AP1 on EVERYTHING in an edition that has low to no AP is nuts. Not sure if they would be better in inquisition really, since you do switch some kasrkin out for odd agents right? I'm not entirely sure why they would be better in inquisition?
@@CanYouRollaCrit yeah when I was watching I already cut one soldier gun aand create volley gun :D Now Im ready! But cant decide if focus onScions or Karskins… I love them both
Just played new Kasrkin, 3+ helps a lot, melta obliterates marines. hot-shot volley gun is great too, best comms in the game, demo guy is ok. Ploys, equip and faction ability are fine too. Still was tabled by Angels 10-17, secure, champion(tac op main) vs overrun(kill op main). Any suggestions?
Played 2 games against Angels last saturday and it was my first time playing Kill Team. Had a LOT of fun with this team. I like that it emphasizes on shooting and covering fire, instead of "COWABUNGA IT IS" The look on the friends face who thought that he can easily go in-melee with kasrkins and wipe them was priceless, when he realised that effectively he is trading 1 marine for 1 Kasrkin due to how much firepower they can dish out. I lost 1 game and we had a draw on 2nd (on 2nd he decided that going full melee is a bad idea xD). Demo trooper is imo GREAT for area denial. Melta mine can 1shot a marine. Volley Gun paired with medic behind it is hillarious combo. Put a sharpshooter or melta close by for covering fire if someone wants to go close and its a menace.
@@CanYouRollaCrit I suppose there are times in advance where you know "I really need initiative going into the next TP", but it'll feel bad using it and then rolling a 6.
If I had to only do one, would a Sergeant with las pistol and chain sword be better or a sergeant with plasma pistol and power weapon? You said the hot shot pistol is better for proking abilities, but that you would always go chainsword and plasma.
So maybe a stupid question but please forgive me since i'm a complete newbie to kill team; but does the faction equipment count for every one of the operatives? i dont fully understand if "friendly kasrkin" counts for the one with the equipment or for everyone in the kill team
The energy snipers not being silent after the first shot makes some sense; there's a big red laser beam pointing to where they're at every time they shoot. Giving all the snipers heavy and a mobile profile makes it feel like they're designed to just get one big shot per battle, so I think I'd have rather their profile with silent be a one off rather than only the FIRST shot they take.
So for the sergeant load out you initially said you'd always take the hot shot las pistol and power sword but then later in the video you said you'd always build them with a plasma pistol and chainsword. Which do you actually recommend?
Here's my question, how do they compare to the Tempestus Aquilons? The two teams are very much alike in appearance and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the comparison.
I spent the week end kitbashing these guys from tau kits (breachers + pathfiders + a xv15 for the volley gunner), hope I didn't waste (way too much) time 😂
So on the recon unit, i dont see that it reads differentlyfor the kasrkin than when its used for inquisitorialagents. So i dont see where the unit is better for one team than the other. The issue as I see it is, it gets to use a kasrkin strategic ploy, even though it's a kasrkin, while being used in inquisitorial agents. The ploy isn't any more powerful for either team, as it activates the same way for both, it's that it is avaliable to the other team at all that is the issue? So the unit gives both teams and boost, but neither is a better boost than the other
It gives Inq a 5th free strat ploy that also works on all their more powerful units, so they can dash up melee units as well as stuff like meltas and plasma etc so it is better because you have more offensive pieces that get free mobility
How large is the melta mine token? is it at least as large as the models base? Couldn't you place it under yourself and just stand there shooting, anything that charges you gets hit and you take no damage
How's the flamer gunner? I was really hoping flamers would make a comeback in the new edition, at least against hordes, but you not mentioning it at all doesn't give me much hope.
I don't understand why you say that the Recon Trooper is better in Inquisition. Maybe there's some subtleties I don't get with the Inquisitoral team, but on paper, the rule looks the same. He can Relocate for free, including two more operatives (Kasrkin or Inquisition) that are within 3" of him. But he always has to be the target of the free Relocation ploy.
I'll copy/paste again: - Gives Inq a 5th free strategy ploy - Works on all the Inq operatives so lets them push up their melee and other threats up for free The ploy is not balanced working around with Inq operatives. In Kasrkin its fine
The damage those gun butts do is sk funny thematically, like wow only 1 damage less than their guns in some cases, I get it's like that for rules sake but thinking about it is funny
@@CanYouRollaCrit 'you cannot use that ploy with an inquisitorial agent kill team unless this operative is selected' reads as only the trooper, not the entire IA team to me, I’m respectfully having trouble understanding why people are reading this as an exploit but maybe I need more context
