i don't even play these style of games...found myself here after running out of Ahoy's video game history videos. He can go on for well over an hour about some seemingly mundane shit that he somehow makes entertaining.
Whenever I make a 6 perk class, I always consider picking up weapons I find off of the ground, making me a makeshift super-soldier, possessing what is usually 2 good weapons with good attachments, 6 perks which make me a damn super soldier, and a backup grenade for when things get wild.
i feel like im in some sort of briefing room about to choose a loadout for a mission when i watch his videos. they always leave me pumped and ready to shoot at a target
4 out of the 5 classes I used in BO2 were using the "special" weapons with double combat axes to boot. So I had a Knife class, a B. Knife class, a Crossbow class as well as an Assault shield pair with the FHJ-18 AA and it was awesome. It kept the game interesting for me and I did have my favourite weapons in my final class just in case I needed to go beast mode on some squeakers. Great video as always Stuart.
***** I use an assault shield in ffa, it pisses everyone in the lobby off when I win, even though I brought a shield to a gun fight (Or did they bring a gun to a shield fight? O_o) In fact just the other day a kid said "You fucking suck." except I won soooooooooooo....................... (I never knew Blake played CoD)
I had so much fun in black ops 2. Black ops 1 was amazing but the second one stole my heart all over again. But anytime I saw people playing with only the combat knife, at the sight of them, I was like “nope” keep your distance lol some people were crazy with that thing.
The Combat Knife is something you need LOTS of practice with. The guide explains the best way to employ the Combat Knife in a gun heavy game. Even a game of knives require some degree of preparation...
I have this exact class but with a smoke grenade instead. You know, because a ninja Tropius has to vanish into the smoke for retreat and attack on occasion...
Everyone else look at his emblems each episode, or is it just me? I've seen the Xbox logo, Steam logo, an enemy in Galaxian (this one), the spaceship you control in Xevious, and many others that I won't spoil. Keep an eye on them, it's the little extra detail that makes something brilliant instead of just good.
@@TheUKNutter lol, I’ve been having a BO2 kick recently and was watching some old ahoy videos and randomly decided to reply to some old comments to see if anybody dmed back
I love his guides and informative videos of gaming. His voice (dont take this the wrong way as I'm a guy) is just absolute perfection of description and in the analytical role and not only that, his guides are like a template to do tutorials and what not, provided your grasp of the language is excellent and attention grabbing and your tone soothing yet keeping you entertained and attentive. As for Ahoy, he can make a friggin' toilet seem like the golden piece of man-made marvels and adding to that he's punny!
I used to play a lot of black ops 2 in the day. All I remember from seeing knife builds in the field was me saying “oh shit, oh shit!”. Before getting stabbed
My Combat Knife build: Wildcards: Danger Close Perk 1 Greed Perk 3 Greed Perk 1: Lightweight Ghost Perk 2: Fast Hands Perk 3: Dexterity Dead Silence Two Combat Axes Get up close and personal so you slit them up or chuck a combat axe their way to kill them at a distance, a perfect blend of speed and stealth. P.S. Extreme Conditioning can be useful instead of Dexterity (Depending on your play style)
Equals this is for you. How does that make me stupid. You didn't mention what it was for. You said "you dont pick it up a weapon for a gold knife." Well for a challenge ya kinda do kid.
I was awful at this game, but then I decided "I'm already bad, let's just make a worthless build!" and I had the knife and nothing else. I cleaned house with like a 20/5 k/d. Nobody expects anyone to run up to you with a knife, so Ahoy's knife build is actually really good if you're fine with stealth.
The EMP is for getting rid of ground scorestreaks(Guardians and Sentry Guns) and enemy equipment. Players just get an EMP effect(no HUD, sights don't work, etc.) The concussion is better for actual players. It slows them down to crawling speed and their turning speed is shot to hell for up to 10 seconds. It also stuns enemy equipment for a few seconds If you're getting rid of enemy scorestreaks/equipment, use the EMP. If you're trying to stun enemies so they're easier to kill, use the concussion
Completing the later challenges for the combat knife was a pain in the ass. What pisses me off the most though, is you don't secure a title for this weapon once finished. However, it was still satisfying getting knife kills altogether! Nothing makes me laugh harder then when an immature player screams at me over the mic hehe My build - SOLID SNAKE Combat Knife Perk 1: Lightweight Perk 2: Cold Blooded Perk 3: Extreme Conditioning & Dead Silence Tomahawk x2 Concussion or Flashbang Perk 3 Greed Wildcard Danger Close Wildcard
I absolutely adore the knife. Iam on PC by the way. I got it diamond, its the best gun of game for me, and its extremly fun to use. Challanging too. My loadout is: lightweight + ghost cold-blooded extreme conditioning + dead silence There are 3 points left, I usually pick a Sniper rifle as my primary (but never use it, I carry it just to get the cool sniper skin with hoodie) and maybe I add a smoke nade and an axe.
Assault Shield sucks. Every time I used it enemy just go a little bit to the right and kill me even I always face them. In the killcam, it show that I didn't even turn to him!
When Stu uses the combat knife, it seems he's playing against N00bs. When i play with the combat knife, i play against the swettiest tryhards frikin ever. Though i'm really not the awesomest player to begin with.
Those of you wanting the 10 kills with a class with no items (Wetwork challenge) equipped can pick up enemy weapons to complete the challenge. I remember getting Precision Master by doing that on Hijacked, it felt like an episode of Noir.
that makes perfect sense, and I'm sure that Stu even considered fast hands as a viable option. Its probably an extremely good alternative for cold blooded, but in his experience it probably wasn't as good for some reason. just use whatever perk you want, I don't care.
I use engineer instead of tac mask. It allows for detection and avoidance shock charges as well as bouncing betties. Being able to charge through any placed defences really helps when taking out campers/snipers.
I have only ever used a knife on Black Ops 2 except when I decided to do the camo challenges for every weapon. For me I agree with having all three greed Wildcards, but for perks I'd choose: 1A. Lightweight for maneuverability and the ever useful lack of fall damage. 1B. Blind Eye to stop the irritating Hunter Killers, Stealth Choppers and other AI from killing you so you can keep on your guard. (I've thought of experimenting with Ghost for a while but I find using a Counter-UAV works to keep you silent) 2A. Hard Wired to make sure you always have field advantage against enemies. Especially since they'll get cocky and rush thinking you don't know where they are. 2B. Cold Blooded to keep you safe and hidden from sights and locators on that cheap-ass Target Finder and MMS, as well as the advantage of your name being invisible to enemies. (Perk 2 has always been an "Any choice will do" system for me, but I think these work best for me). 3A. Dexterity gives yet another advantage of maneuverability through the ability to climb and mantle much faster meaning you can run behind cover should you be getting shot at. 3B. Extreme Conditioning, again for maneuverability more focused on speed so you can power around every place. (Tactical Mask is a good idea too, same with Engineer. But I find that Tac Mask becomes redundant when you can use the pairing of Lightweight and Extreme Conditioning to safely sprint past Claymores Bouncing Betties and Shock Charges) For equipment I use either a Black Hat or EMP, like with XboxAhoy comparing this to a class for a Ninja you can strategically hack/destroy equipment and steal Care Packages at a safe distance without being spotted. Also with an EMP you can quickly disorient, disable equipment and Sentries/Guardians. I'd choose Black Hat for a stealthier approach and EMP for a more hands-on one.
i usually found perk 2 to be my perk slot in this game that i always have perk greed on (considering i hate picking up weapons when i do go on a good streak i use scav on all of my classes) but, if i'm not running perk 2 greed i have perk 3 greed considering i always use tac mask as well, i hate being concussion'ed and everything like that it annoys me way too much, especially when i am not against snipers i am up against msmc users throwing concussions, EMPs or flashes depending on their classes, hell i have ran into a few who ran tactician and just ran flash and emp i of course didn't really mind, although the EMP did get annoying, he was obviously going for the 100 point assist thing considering you get both the EMP assist and the flash assist if the opponent was both flashed and EMPed he was also putting up uavs constantly so, i would say it was a good strategy.
Enjoyed the video, however, there is a simple build that helps counteract the knife's miniscule range, and provide you with better attacking power. Perk 1: Lightweight, maximum movement Perk 2: (Wildcard), Scavenger, Fast Hands, allowing for faster use and resupply of concussion and Combat Axes Perk 3: Extreme Conditioning, again, maximum movement Lethal: (Wildcard) 2 Combat Axes, this allows you that extra range needed Tactical: 1 Concussion, to help flee or close distances
I have all weapons Diamond so i know what I'm talking about. I love this build but i would have dropped the Perk Greed 2 and Cold-blodded for a C-4 and another concussion for that extra defense and offense. Its a good combo, the c-4 clearing out a room of killing multiple enemies, also slowing down enemies for you to go in and take that last few kills.
I had this gold when Stu spoke did this and I would recommend switching the concussion for a shock charge when you reach the challenges for bloodthirsties
I gotta say BO2 had the worst melee hit detection, so as a melee only player, it was one of the cods that I didn’t really melee in all to often, but when I did, I had more success with the tac knife on a handgun, as I found it was more accurate, and knifed faster.
He's doing his videos in unlock order after the weapons that unlock right at the start. If you was watching his bonus video from his AhoyXbox channel, you would've known.

I have only ever used a knife on Black Ops 2 except when I decided to do the camo challenges for every weapon. For me I agree with having all three greed Wildcards, but for perks I'd choose:
1A. Lightweight for maneuverability and the ever useful lack of fall damage.
1B. Blind Eye to stop the irritating Hunter Killers, Stealth Choppers and other AI from killing you so you can keep on your guard.
(I've thought of experimenting with Ghost for a while but I find using a Counter-UAV works to keep you silent)
But I find that Tac Mask becomes redundant when you can use the pairing of Lightweight and Extreme Conditioning to safely sprint past Claymores Bouncing Betties and Shock Charges)
For equipment I use either a Black Hat or EMP, like with XboxAhoy comparing this to a class for a Ninja you can strategically hack/destroy equipment and steal Care Packages at a safe distance without being spotted. Also with an EMP you can quickly disorient, disable equipment and Sentries/Guardians.
I'd choose Black Hat for a stealthier approach and EMP for a more hands-on one.
This Loadout has always... given me the edge.
i usually found perk 2 to be my perk slot in this game that i always have perk greed on (considering i hate picking up weapons when i do go on a good streak i use scav on all of my classes) but, if i'm not running perk 2 greed i have perk 3 greed considering i always use tac mask as well, i hate being concussion'ed and everything like that it annoys me way too much, especially when i am not against snipers i am up against msmc users throwing concussions, EMPs or flashes depending on their classes, hell i have ran into a few who ran tactician and just ran flash and emp i of course didn't really mind, although the EMP did get annoying, he was obviously going for the 100 point assist thing considering you get both the EMP assist and the flash assist if the opponent was both flashed and EMPed he was also putting up uavs constantly so, i would say it was a good strategy.
LMAO I love how serious your videos are but the water melon killing has me rofling good job Stuart
Enjoyed the video, however, there is a simple build that helps counteract the knife's miniscule range, and provide you with better attacking power.
Perk 1: Lightweight, maximum movement
Perk 2: (Wildcard), Scavenger, Fast Hands, allowing for faster use and resupply of concussion and Combat Axes
Perk 3: Extreme Conditioning, again, maximum movement
Lethal: (Wildcard) 2 Combat Axes, this allows you that extra range needed
Tactical: 1 Concussion, to help flee or close distances
Omg, the guy going out the window went flying
I have all weapons Diamond so i know what I'm talking about. I love this build but i would have dropped the Perk Greed 2 and Cold-blodded for a C-4 and another concussion for that extra defense and offense. Its a good combo, the c-4 clearing out a room of killing multiple enemies, also slowing down enemies for you to go in and take that last few kills.
This man can make anything interesting
