Vampire the Masquerade. Ain't played this game yet, but it rubs my curiosity.
Yo, wanna add The Void to that list. It's the real obscure game from the the studio behind Pathologic. You play as a color farmer. In purgatory.
Allegiance.
What happened with the community is quite interesting. I wonder if we could learn from it. The game was/is epic.
Star Sector.
Also known as Star Farer. Quite interesting, the dev has done a solid work at making everything interesting and ironing out anything that isn't.

Total Annihilation re-made by fans. Started as a 3D viewer for Total Annihilation. Best online RTS I have ever played.

Don't forget the rouge squadron games
Episode 1 Racer too.
And the arcade machine was insane.
@Fire and Ice Kinda wished KOTOR was more like Jedi Knight in battle gameplay, yet deeper in every other aspect. Jedi Knight feels like a kid's game, where KOTOR was existencially serious.
@@kaspartambur Especially KOTOR 2. It's still some of the most thought provoking philosophy I've seen in an RPG some 10 years later after my first playthrough. And the twist in KOTOR 1 was so well executed. Great games all. The most important thing about all of them is that they were all way good enough for us to excuse any flaws they had.

I always loved how this game portrayed the Star Wars universe as being so dark and gritty
better than rogue one ever did.
Star Wars is dark and gritty outside of the movies. If you want a good example please watch Clone Wars. It may be a "kids" show but they got away with a lot for their restrictions. It honestly shows probably the most brutal depiction of Star Wars (within canon currently so I'm not counting Star Wars Legends) there is.

@@1PROTOSS Don"t bring back the memories, I cried when we lost Sev. God, I have to play it again
I always liked Fixer. His no-nonsense, by-the-books attitude makes him a great trope character to round out of the cast. even if he isn't as edgy as Sev or as funny as Scorch i think he brings the whole team together in a way that a more colorful character couldn't. the most emotion he ever shows is when he's sneering at the "filthy bug vermin".
I especially like that he always uses the numbers to address his team instead of using the nicknames. You're not "Boss" to him, you're 38. Its a nice touch.
The game would not be the same with any of Delta removed or changed. While Scorch was always and always will be my favorite, Fixer helps balance everything out perfectly. While Sev and Scorch are the jokers of the team (the Haggard and Sweetwater equivalence from Bad Company 2), Fixer and Boss are the serious ones (the Marlow and Sarge). Neither are devoid of personality but just keep everything in check.
If the team was made up of all Scorch and Sev types of characters, the game wouldn't be nearly as good, and same vice versa.
I also love that whenever he does sass you it’s always so passive aggressive.
Like, “38, maybe you should leave the explosives to 62”.
His the straight-man,
That's why.
I was just replaying the game and noticed fixer calling me "Commando Boss" once rather than 3-8.

Fun fact: the Viking choir at 4:05 is canonically an ancient Mandalorian song about killing Jedi if my memory is right.
if your memory is right, that has gotta be the coolest subtle foreshadowing ever
It's about loyal brothers fighting together and fighting people who aren't loyal and how they're from corouscant
Pretty clever foreshadowing
That's honestly the best way to add foreshadowing, and is kind of epic when you think about it.
An army of clones, cloned from a mandalorian jedi-killer, end up killing off nearly all the jedi, fulfilling the mandalorian dream to kill all jedi.
I'd say "Ironic" but it's not, it's just a clever coincidence.

I remember when this game first came out. I ended up getting it on release day - didn't even know about it beforehand. Took it back to my barracks, me and 3 friends sitting on the couch. The first time I fired it up we were in awe of the graphics. And the first time that windshield wiper went across the visor? We LOST IT. We just couldn't get over the ridiculous detail!

Scorch is slightly faster than any other commando when arming explosives, Fixer slices terminals/doors faster as well, and Sev goes for headshots when you have him in a sniping position. An AngrryWalrus
Don't be so quick to deride it. Many sci-fi and fantasy series go out of their way to do this, from Star Wars' Aurebesh alphabet and Star Trek Klingonese to the tongues of Elves, Dwarves and Orcs in LotR. It helps add an extra layer of authenticity to the setting, as people subconsciously recognize the structure and cadence of a proper language, even if they can't understand what's being said. ngl, THIS was the game that I had the biggest "scared shitless" moment as a kid, during the star destroyer level.
i was always so scared during the section where you are by yourself with the super battle droids
To be fair, I wish it did more with that. You have the first level in the ship, which is some horror movie stuff, but all you fight are scavenger droids. Then the setting becomes brighter and you fight Trandoshans in a more of an action movie style. There's the occasional horror moment or two (like when you jump down the hatch and find yourself in a dump site surrounded by the bodies of clone troopers), but the overall vibe is an action one, so the first level teases you with some horror and then it never delivers more than that. I wish there was more of that tone that we got from the first Assault Ship level, but amplified. Maybe a jumpscare, some stuff that really makes your hair stand up.
"Return to Mt. Krumpet to play his trumpet"
so everyone named "their spots" back in the day, good to know I'm not alone. Blood Gulch on Halo had a spot we called Cheese and Crackers, it was great.

This is a game I come back to every 2-5 years. I don't know why it is so replayable. Probably because of the characters, movie-eque presentation with 0 pre-rendered cutscenes. The squad really made this game amazing for me. I think the cast of characters in a game are extremely important, as they are who you spend all your time with. In this game, they really managed to give all the squad mates likable personalities. When they are giving each other a bit of banter it seems genuine, like they are really squad mates that have grown close over time, even if that just means they crack jokes at each other's expense.

A shame that it never got a sequel in order to improve on what was a pretty decent foundation.
One of the best Star Wars game i've played.
I wish Order 66 was included in this game. But it came before Ep. 3 released, so I get the reason for it.
They could’ve hinted at it, like at the end boss says “alright, new mission, and it’s different than any we’ve have before”
I would hope that the squad would be more intelligent than other clones, breaking away from the new empire and joining the rebels
"Kamino has a prophecy that says you're destined to kick ass in space."
Now that might be among your best lines of the whole series
What I REALLY love about this game is how much damn _personality_ they gave the commandos, even Fixer (the boring, smart one) gets his moments.
Sev, first character in a game that had an emotional impact on me.
I swear to God, that beginning part with Anakin is some TOP NOTCH comedy.
Heard it was Lucas that felt the commandos needed to have more distinct personalities, which ended up being a good change from the earlier more cold stoic tone.
You just called a republic ship a star destroyer. And the music is in mandalorian
Star Destroyer is a type of ship, like Corvette and Frigate are. The Venator-class is a Star Destroyer aswell for example. The Acclamator is afaik too small to count as Star Destroyer though.:)
Technically a Star Destroyer is a class of ship, that includes many different ships, including the Republic's Venators. However this ship is an Acclamator class assault ship, which I think is too small to be classified as a star destroyer.
Alright then, my mistake
The reason the Acclamator is not a Star Destroyer is because it was manufactured by Rothana Heavy Engineering, and Star Destroyers are manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards.
Rev BladeZ Do note that there's a Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser around.
When's this channel going to blow up? The production quality here is top notch.
God I loved this game. Especially the mature tone that deviated so much from the prequels. The atmosphere was amazing
Always good to know whenever I wanna play an old game on pc, MG posts fixes in his reviews. Thanks man!
Needs a remaster. So much nostalgia
Lewis Carlo I got ya

Sorry people, got to get to the restroom really hastily.
Alright someone please explain the "It's on the edge of the system" joke to me.
He is a sniper. He legitimately saw the ship a million kilometers away.
This are the best review for old games in youtube, and the most importante talk about the fixes for this olg game crashing all time, thanks bro really
Reminder that Sev survived according to Star Wars Clone Wars TV Series.
Nah that scene was in the middle of the clone wars. That mission with the Wookiees was at the end of the war.
Nokte Reminder that the sequal would've been about Sev helping form the rebel alliance.
no he didnt (im sorry, we will never forget you sev)
the game ends showing yoda and the republic fleet landing on geonosis which is in the middle of episode 3
Jerec 12 writer of the books said so when he was interviewed.
According to Wookiepedia, Engineering lead Brett Douville said that Sev was going to a major player in the formation of the Rebel Alliance in the planned sequel that got scrapped.
"Return to MT. Crumpet and play his Trumpet" I fucking died
Normally i hate nitpicking, but actually the second chapter takes place on an Acclamator Assault Ship, not a star destroyer
WELL ACKSHUALLY 🤓👆
"I hate nitpicking"
*Proceeds to nitpick*
@@josipcingel3909 i did say "normally", and this is not the "normally"

like why would anyone know that nuclear warheads in space could be used as a last ditch point defense system by detonating at the right spread to create an optimal plasma field to disable incoming missiles/strikecraft?
Found you on Bellular's suggestion, watching vids now and subbed love you so far man.
Something about this game's sound effects and music really built the gritty, spooky atmosphere. I love it.
This, KOTOR and Dark Forces are probably my favorite Star Wars themed games
One of my favorite Star Wars games. Been binge watching your videos lately love the content.
I've played this game off and on for years since junior high. It came as a demo in Knights of the Old Republic I believe. Then I bought the game later on. It's a fantastic fps for 2005 and it is n my opinion part of the golden era of Star Wars games. Kinda part of the tail end. From 1996-2005 is the golden era. There were a lot of cancelled projects that I would could of happened before Disney bought Lucasfilm.
Game definitely goes up there with the star wars battlefront, empire of war, and kotor games.
