This design actually grew on me! I think it looks great. Old M2 is magnificent but this one looks great too! Unluckily this one is so expensive that I could just probably only dream about it.
I love how they made it's much wider than the standard 2 series, made the bonnet longer, the rear shorter, put an engine straight from M4, put carbon buckets and a manual yet everyone is complaning about the looks without seeing it in person. You can see who the real car guys are.
Absolutly right I think the new M2 is beautiful It really stands out from other cars These days pretty much all the cars look the same but BMW in general tries to stand out
Well I only saw it on photos till yet and still I made the decision to buy one with a manual of course 😂 the design isn’t beautiful but I think it suits that car very well. It looks like a beast and a beast does not have to look good, which is perfect in my opinion because it has the biggest and most powerful engine in its class. So it really is the beast.
At that price just get an M3. Car manufacturers are getting crazy with car prices. Stop buying such expensive cars people, or they'll keep pushing up the price until you decide to stop 🤦♂️
I think it looks alright in that blue. Some good angles. Much better than the red, where it does not look good. It is too big and heavy for an M2 though. Now we don't have an option for a small powerful BMW. This size should be the M4 or 5!
The M240 is x drive no wonder it has a faster 0-60 but in terms of handling and everything else the m2 is on a new level because its a real M and the m240 is just touched by M
It honestly looks like everyone else's melted blob. We need a whole new era of design school students. Yet another 0-60 launch-fest that sacrifices pretty much everything else. When the reality is beating EVs 0-60 isn't where you CAN win. Where you can win is making, say, a 1200kg car and laughing at the EVs that can't bend physics to shed their massive weight. A light and small M2 with about 300hp would be an instant game-changer. This? Nope. Just buy a Mustang if you want better looks and the same weight. Or a Cayman (or even a venerable Miata) if you want something for twisting roads.
@@josephoberlander Yeah, enthusiast cars are getting rarer and rarer to find and then they often arent popular, because people only want 0-60 times and not something thats actually fun to drive. This M2 here weights 1.8 tons! If it weighed 300-400kg less and had "only" 350-400hp it would be a much better car. A Cayman costs about the same and will be a hundred times more fun to drive; even a Miata is probably more fun.
@@xXYannuschXx And the shame is that 95% of the people who buy one of these never had a chance to sit in an original M3. 2700lbs and 235HP. (Euro Spec) - Fast and an absolute riot on a mountain road and could take turns at shocking speeds. Race versions where a little heavier and had 296hp. But that's literally the weight and power of the current base Cayman. BMW ** could ** build a lighter car, since Porsche can obviously do it without excessive carbon fiber or pretty much anything silly needed, even.
He's not wrong. The exposed radiator is really dumb on BMW's part. They offer nothing to cover it, and you're left with going after cheap aftermarket grilles that don't really protect it. It's a headache. I don't think any other BMW has this problem.

I love this guys sense of humor. He has never not made me laugh. Just a funny side note, my glasses are so outdated Rex wise, from the thumbnail I thought this was a Shmee video 😂. Time to make an appointment. I didn’t realize everyone converges in Arizona at the same time and how that all works. Joe Achilles, the strait pipe guys, The Smokimg Tire, BMW Blog guy, a big ole M2 test drive party.
1:50 the laugh though😂😂
Love the color, reminds me of Volvo S60 Polestar concept.
Matt please organise a drag between the M2, RS3 and the A45s/CLA45s
Hopefully drag race track won't be wet. UK weather. If dry, I think the M2 will take the win. If wet, the RS3.
I've always loved BMW M cars.
In the right colour, this M2 is bold and looks awesomely different.
I like it a lot.
Was planning to get this, but I guess I will stick to my Mazda ND (as a third car for fun) and just get the M240i when trading wife’s car. Still heavy AF but way cheaper and with comparable performance.
Get the previous gen, looks 10x better.
m2 is only like 10k more, for an S58 I think that may be worth it
Seeing this car parked and on the road over the past year, it is hands down one of the best looking BMWs in quite a few years. I'd have it over any other M car from the past decade.
This design actually grew on me! I think it looks great. Old M2 is magnificent but this one looks great too! Unluckily this one is so expensive that I could just probably only dream about it.
Best moment is Yuri and Jakub!
Great video wish I had the cash for that car.
I love how they made it's much wider than the standard 2 series, made the bonnet longer, the rear shorter, put an engine straight from M4, put carbon buckets and a manual yet everyone is complaning about the looks without seeing it in person. You can see who the real car guys are.
One boy in my area crush his own with a sonata front by front the BMW got demage than the sonata
Absolutly right
I think the new M2 is beautiful
It really stands out from other cars
These days pretty much all the cars look the same but BMW in general tries to stand out
@@amuaaron2040 Cool story. Don't what that has to do with anything tho
Also everybody also sad that the m3 m4 was ugly when they were released and now everybody loves them it will be the same with the m2
At that price just get an M3. Car manufacturers are getting crazy with car prices. Stop buying such expensive cars people, or they'll keep pushing up the price until you decide to stop 🤦♂️
It looks like a big toy car
Bu yorumu ben yapıcaktım😂😂
RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU HAVE BEEN WATCHING CARWOW FOR A WHILE NOW 🖐️✋
Yes
You buerk
🙋♂️
shut up pls
This kind of comments is getting old now.
12:05 the paint looks metallic in that shot
I think it looks alright in that blue. Some good angles. Much better than the red, where it does not look good.
It is too big and heavy for an M2 though. Now we don't have an option for a small powerful BMW. This size should be the M4 or 5!
I think the blue washes out the lines. Red and Brooklyn grey are the best choices in my opinion.
Stole the blue from the N
M2 weighing almost 2 tons. Something is wrong at BMW.
Horrific cars. Unreliable as it gets.
What a laugh on 1:50 🤣 like giving a child a toy... 😄
0-60 same as a 240i, and the M2 was on a downhill! Benefit of four wheel drive.
The M240 is x drive no wonder it has a faster 0-60 but in terms of handling and everything else the m2 is on a new level because its a real M and the m240 is just touched by M
Where do you see the downhill? It was literally up after like 100 meters. Also it was a single try.
An RWD beeing as fast as an AWD is an absolute win in my books
What in earth happened to the styling of this generation 😬
China happened. They just LOVE the "big nose" design of BMW there.
No adapted cruise control? Perfect!!!❤
I kind of like it. Certainly stands out. Though for 60 grand there are some very good slightly used motors about - I'd want a good used RS6 for that.
Just saw one in the flesh. It looked plain, the front doesn't suit it and the backend is hideous. Such a shame
He's not wrong. The exposed radiator is really dumb on BMW's part. They offer nothing to cover it, and you're left with going after cheap aftermarket grilles that don't really protect it. It's a headache. I don't think any other BMW has this problem.
The M2 was always my dream honestly, I love the new one but the front just looks Lego like to me, still though might just get my order in 😅
It doesn't even look like a freakin car anymore, let alone a PROPER BMW car
10:03 FALSE !
Please people do not listen to BLLSHT from market influencers like this guy does !
I've driven both the M3 in RWD and the 4WD and the TRUTH is that RWD is the best experience !
4WD is for the people who don't know how to drive RWD with that high power !
So i've told you the RAW TRUTH !
Because you know this people in the media all they DON'T WANT to tell you is that "the RWD is NOT for incompetent people" !
lets admit it, this m2 looks like a complicated box... whereas the previous m2 looked sooooo good, almost like a monster in stealth
That's nice..... the shock tower brace shows you exactly how much of the engine sits ahead of the front axle.
One exactly the same where I worked today, what a machine tbh I was speechless
I've been waiting for that crossover!
Love the straight pipes guest appearance 😆
Great to see the guys from The Straight Pipes!
I thought these were the worst looking M cars when launched... I now think they are the best looking out of all of them... not sure how BMW do that but they've done it for quite a few cars. They look better after a couple of years. I don't think the big grill move will ever work though. Glad the m2 never ended up with them. Great review.
BMW grills must be the biggest ongoing drama in the world, man. I can't even count how many different grills we've seen in the last 3-4 years.
in 10 years this car will be a legend mark my words
Have you tried measuring from Everest?
Finally famous Mat
