- How to clear the Recent Files list and completely delete songs in PreSonus Studio One 5.
#StudioOne
The Recent Files list on the START PAGE in Studio One shows you your recent files. You can clear these out by right-clicking a file and removing it from the list.
Or, right-click in a gray area, and clear the whole list.
But, clearing the Recent Files list DOES NOT delete the actual song.
To delete an actual song and all the files, head in to your file system and delete the folder.
Be sure to backup anything you need to keep! By default the Mixdown folder will be where your bounced out completed songs are - so be sure to move those somewhere else if you need to keep them.

Studio One. My partner since 2010. I had Protools and Cubase there because I'm Midi Man and Audio Technician. So Cubase for pre-production and Protools for production. I've change everything for this one Amazing Perfect Dawn for me.
My brother, these videos have probably added years on to my life. 🙌🙌
Thanks XD
Just what I needed. I feel younger because of you.
Thank you a straight answer 🥳
Do you have a video on how to recover or restore a deleted song in Studio One? Or is it possible ?
I’m not as tech savvy as I used to be but I really hope this makes room on my “recording device” so I can record guitar from my focusrite. It just stops recording and says I need to make recording room😭
Wanted to mention that on a Mac, after you have deleted the songs off your drive, the songs list will still show the songs until you close Studio One and reopen it. Not the case for recent files, but the songs tab.
Is there a quick way to play and delete files from explorer or using Studio one? I have a lot of old song ideas on hard drive. It would be good to play and delete as you go top to bottom.
Try using the Browser in Studio One. You can preview the media files or load sessions and figure out what you need to keep or delete.
In the BROWSER, Files tab, Volumes, navigate to the folder(s).
@@BenoniStudio That is fairly quick thanks. Would be nice if Presonus had a quick preview function in the browser file structure so you just click the folder name and it played a rough mix low bit sample file
though. That would save time loading a session or looking at cached files in preview.
Nothing happens when I right click!
Why on EARTH would you delete the windows level files and folders with ARCHIVING them first? SHEESH!
because they didn't need to be archived.
@@BenoniStudio Said the man who's never been robbed of all his equipment. Trust me. You do not miss the computer, you miss what's ON the computer. I was cleaned out twice!
@@johnston.scott64 Again, what was delete in the video did not need to be archived. They were empty sessions for demonstration.
@@BenoniStudio that's a mistake I made as a younger kid. When you think you don't need something when you get rid of it. 2 months later you realize, you slap yourself in the head and say fuck I wish I didn't delete that!
@@BenoniStudio - Simple, have you ever gone through your garage and cleaned out all the junk? In a month later you needed one of the objects that you threw out? It's not like digital storage takes up a whole lot of room, and it's easily manageable unlike your garage which is probably filled up with trash. There's a company called 1-800 junk or something like that maybe you should give them a call next time you want to delete all your previous sessions.
