    I just discovered your channel and let me tell you I really enjoyed how slowly you explain everything, rather than just blazing through it all like most channels do. Ive had my studio one for some years now and I've gradually learned quite a bit, but still need more years of experience of course. I get a bit stressed out at times because most channels talk so fast and i have to rewind 20x to get what their doing. I just subscribed and will be making a folder of all your tutorials involving studio one for sure!! thank you!

I am currently in process of making my studio business a full time career and I've decided to niche down on just strictly audio editing work for now to keep my business model simple. Hi Tim, thanks for all the great info in your videos, they've helped me a lot. I've been looking for a solution to an editing problem, but so far no luck. I've copied sections from a guitar track that I've pasted on to a new track which I also need to edit, using the bend tool as you've described. But when I edit the original track (from which I've copied the section) changes also. I've tried renaming the new track in the inspector but to no avail. Do you have a section somewhere dealing with this, or do you know what I could do?
    Thanks again for all the help, best regards,

    Thanks for this video. It helped me. Another question.I am just starting out with Studio One. Is there a command available/I can create that will delete everything from the cursor to the start of the track/from the cursor to the end of the track. Not a section or region - everything? So let's say I am playing an audio track and I stop at a point and want to delete everything to the left or right of where I stopped. I know I can highlight or split, etc. but that's a few steps and since I do this all the time I would prefer a single keystroke to do this. Any input is appreciated in advance.

When I want to be precise with what I call the vertical cursor line so I can cut out or otherwise mark a very specific section of the audio often time I cannot put that line in the exact place I want it. When I attempt to drag it to where I want it It will "jump" to a spot either a little bit to the left or right of where I want it to go. What is the procedure to place this cursor line EXACTLY where I want it? Thanks.

    Tim, this is really helpful -- much better than the StudioOne documentation, which is nearly useless. I am hoping you can answer one question for me -- how did you get to that screen in the first place (early in the video when you say "Here we are inside Studio One")? You've got several (I think three) horizontal bands that I assume are "tracks," and then the fourth horizontal band, on the bottom of the screen -- is that also a track? Or is that an editing band of some kind? I keep trying to erase an accidental noise I made with my bass while recording a bass track, but when I click the eraser and then click the eraser symbol on the noise in the bass track, it erases the entire bass track instead of just erasing the brief noise. Sorry for asking such a detail question, but I don't know how else to find an answer.

    • @TimTalksAudio
      @TimTalksAudio  4 года назад

      The three additional you are seeing, are different layers or takes for that channel in question. The fourth is a bus channel with automation lanes showing, in this instance, volume automation. If you are trying to cut out a bad note, you should find where the next good note begins and simply cut the event there, you can then erase or mute the funky note.

    • @TimTalksAudio
      @TimTalksAudio  4 года назад +2

      When you time stretch something to be longer, there are processes that make audible "artifacts" within the audio. Try it out for yourself. Record yourself saying a short sentence, then time stretch it way longer than you should and listen back. It will sound digital. Great question though! I may make a video about it!

      H Z Tan glitches....as you’ve already read...it’s the poo you don’t wanna hear because it’s imperfections...sometimes you will get this when you pitch change vocals for example.....artifacts can also occur from system drag because the cpu is not handling the requirements of your DAW

I searched for a tool to edit an error that would be simple in protools without using a destructive plugin. Quite an oversight as I use this tool in protools for more detailed audio editing retaining waveform length. When I googled the feature, I noticed it was in discussion in 2017!!. Hmm... Do you mean MIDI chords? You can drag Midi files into your system via the built in browser and then drag them into new songs. If you are talking about within the same song, you can hold down OPT/ALT on your keyboard and then click and drag the midi event anywhere you want. I hope this helps!

    How do you clear automation points

    • @TimTalksAudio
      @TimTalksAudio  Год назад

      you can single click on anode or point and hit delete, or if you need to clear out a large area, you can use the range tool, highlight the nodes in question, and then delete!

    If i have a beat of 2 bars and i want to paste it to the next 50 bars..whats the shortcut?... Basically paste it many times in a row. I had to take my cursor and paste it manually at every beat 😑

      "D" on your keyboard is "duplicate". As long as your event is trimmed to the bar, it'll be a perfect repeat.

    I've left Protools after 22 years due to Avid's corporate fascist subscription plan and am looking for a suitable replacement DAW. I have Logic but can't stand it for audio editing and loved Protools way of handling audio. What's Studio One's own version of shuffle or ripple mode that is featured in both Protools and Logic? I rely on that a lot for editing interviews. Keep up the great work.

      Studio One does have a feature that will do this! It's called ripple edit mode and can be turned on and off as needed with the click of a button or keyboard shortcut!

    Is anyone able to enhance the audio in 1 of my videos I’m in a life or death situation. I’m being psychologically tortured with a traumatic recording of myself being raped and tortured and has been made to look like consented to and accusing the people as they’ve edited out the torture nd said they gave me my rape fantasy not that they’re responsible for me having 1. I was 14 and given Valium and other memory shortening drugs and psychologically set up to think I was just having a nightmare as house furniture was rearranged so bunk bed in living room and set up in front of a webcam. If I don’t get audio enhanced so I can figure out what iv been set up for I won’t be able to stop it from happening in time
