I've been using Studio One for many years and I always watch Mike's videos without hesitation because I know I'm going to learn something I didn't know before.
Great to hear Daniel. Thank you!
so very very true!
Yeah, and a wonderful agreeable accent
Thanks for your professionalism in not complaining about what a DAW does not have. Criticizing is ok about what could be better; some youtube channels take complaints about a DAW too far, especially about Studio One. I have used this DAW for over 8 years; it's my go-to program. I really enjoy watching your channels; thank you for the great content.
Thank you Jerome. Honestly, I think if people like the software, it's my job to simply help us all get the most out of it :)
Mike, I have been producing Music now for a few years and purchased and used StudioOne since the beginning. Last year started using Ableton Live and have struggled learning it as it is somewhat different. Missed using StudioOne and have now gone back to it and glad I did. Stumbled on your channel and now I have tutorials I can understand and use in my workflow. Subed and liked for future reference. Your instruction is professional and enlightening at the same time. Thank you and Cheers!
Glad I’ve found Mike’s videos. You are the help need. I’m new. But I’m learning.
Just had to make this a separate comment. Mike, you really are a gifted instructor. As I follow along in virtually all your videos I come up with questions related to your discussion and you seem to uncannily provide the answer to the specific questions that arise in my mind. I am guessing that a lot of your subscribers have the same experience. It's like raising your hand in class and getting your question answered. Pretty amazing really. And a big thanks for starting the dedicated S1 channel.
Thank you so much for your kind comment, it's really appreciated! I think I just like to explain things the way I'd like them explained to me :)
You couldn't have stated my feelings any better. Thanks.
Would love to see more on the bend tool as you suggested
Yessir you should make more of the tutorial
Really enjoying this series on Studio One Mike. Thank you.
Fun for me too thanks John!
Great Video. Thanx Please more usage of the bend-tools.
The more you show me about studio One the more I like it. I have been using cakewalk 1998. I think it would be an easy change. Thanks' Mike. You are helping me make my final decision.
Good stuff.
I've been using since Studio One 4 and rarely stray from the arrow tool with split as an alternate. So you taught me something, lol.
Great videos , I have been learning a ton from your channel. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
That's definitely helpful, thank you so much!
You missed my most used function, and that's double tapping with the arrow tool in the upper section of the clip to split. :)
A great tip, thank you!
Yeah agreed - was looking for the same comment because I use this function with the combi- pointer/range tool all the time, most useful. Thanks for the video, been an S1 user from v1 but still happy to pick up additional tips.
Super helpful video - thanks a ton!!!! Keep up the amazing job Mike!!
This is fantastic!
Thanks Jake!
Great and informative video
Great tutorial.. thanks
Thanks MIke and your were right...long time S1 user and still picked ups some great tips. Cheers!
Thank You Mike
I like your easy to follow and understand tips on Studio One. I can learn useful basic tips from your tutorials. Have subscribed.
7 thumbs up!!!
very helpful.. thanks
Didn't know about pressing the #5 key. Mute Key and the play key. I send a heartfelt vote of appreciation to you! Keep the vids coming! You are an excellent Professor!!!!!
Haha, I'm the 1000th subsciber, awesome videos, keep going!
Nice! A place in history :)
Mike, Thank you for this video. Because of you, I’m learning Studio 1 very quickly.
Thank you for this.
My pleasure :)
Thank you for this
My pleasure, thanks for watching :)
Thanks Mike. As a recent convert to Studio One from Cakewalk, I highly appreciate your new channel. As to these editing tools, I knew where they were on the toolbar and what they were for, but I never understood how and when to use them. Until now!
Glad its helpful Graham!
Keep it going mike. Your presentation style is quite effective.
Thank you Lynn!
Some stuff I knew and some I didn't...always good information . I tend to keep things simple...
It's a good way to be!
Yup... I confess. LOL!! This old dog learned a thing or two. REALLY liking this channel and content, Mike!!
Thank you!
As a new Stuidio One user, I'm finding your videos super informative...okay, time to move on to the next one. Keep up the great work
Thanks heaps, I’m a complete novice and am learning so much,
Great tutorial! And yes, although having used Studio One for several years, there were many details in the edit tool collection that I was not aware of.
Awesome :) Glad it helped!
Another great tutorial! I have been using S1 for a few years (emigrating from Cakewalk). Until now I have had a very shaky relationship with the concept of secondary tools vs linked tools. I am also guilty of using the arrow tool combined with mouse and drop downs to do things that are so much more easily accomplished with the basic tools already in the toolbar. Thanks for the step by step explanations of each tool!
Excellent and really useful video! Coming from Cubase (and not looking back), there's still a lot to learn :) +1 for a bend tool / bend markers deep dive.
Thank you, I'm glad its helpful!
I’ve been using Studio One Pro since version 2. I did learn a couple new things with this video. Your videos are concise and to the point. Thanks for sharing! If you would, could you do a video with more details on the audio bend functions (moving, stretching, quantize, etc.)?
New subscriber - this one won me over. Been using Studio One for a few years now. This is the most comprehensive editing video I have ever seen. Presonus should have hired YOU to do their videos! Would love to see an in depth video on quantizing values and how to best set them for drums and guitar.
Thank you so much. Suggestion noted for a future video!
Love the keyboard shortcuts and macros. I found a lot on accident when I’ll hit wrong buttons lol. Didn’t know about shift plus range tool (I typically use range tool for clip gaining on as need case as music plays). Never knew about transform tool 🙂. The bend tool-I get the idea but can’t do it so I use Melodyne for changing length of notes lol. Thanks 😊
Glad its helpful. Many thanks to you as always :)
I use the keyboard shortcut K to split the event - more intuitive to me. But this is a helpful video - learned a bit about the automation curves that I had always botched before. Thanks.
A good tip thanks Gary :)
Hey Mike! Thanks for your hard work in helping us to use S1 more efficiently. I've been using S1 since Ver 1. The Editing tools are great if you know where to find them. About 9 years ago I bought a keyboard dedicated to S1 from "Editor'sKeys".One of the best purchases I have ever made to use with Studio One. Initially , you have to get used to looking at the keyboard differently, it has a colored key system to help with navigation. It's easy to forget this asset and your video has "somewhat" put me back in charge of my S1 editing "game" and has been a good reminder of how to use the editing functions and find them more quickly.🤓 Thanks again, Mike.
Thanks Mike. This was a great video and please make a video how to use the bend tool.
Thank you. Yes! I'll be sure to do that :)
Oh you show a lot of the "little things" that make Studio One even more awesome.
hey its my pleasant retirement hobby, and you've soothed much of the frustration
of learning the complexities.
Speaking of soothing, your videos are top quality; you are a natural teacher.
I'll play them while doing domestic duties for the calming effect,
then sit and replay with total attention (and a notepad lol).
Yes dive deeper into advanced bend tool please and thank you.
Thanks, definitely learned some new tricks! I don't use the eraser tool or listen tool at all, as there's so many other ways to do stuff in Studio One.
Thanks, Michael. I'm glad it was helpful!
ok I learned a lot of stuff
Glad to hear Cleon!
Really² helpful just when I taught that I knew almost all the functions of SO1 editing tools you just amaze me with new tips.
Now I need help with "Sound Set Builder".
In your next video please do include How do you create your own Sound Sets, I came across some old videos on studio sound sets topic they are all done in the previous version of SO1 and it's not clearly explain.. I have some collection of loops and sample I want to organised this sample into sound sets.. Thankyou
I'll add that to my list, thamk you!
Plz make next episode of this tutorial (if not already done)
I really appreciate your show. Lots of great information. I would love a show dedicated to routine principles and techniques. I have a presonus 192, Grace m108, tascam mh-8. My problem is I have a dangerous Dbox summing unit that I’d love to connect but as of yet don’t know how. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Mike and fellow keyboardists. I love these videos!! Mike, you have Studio One down cold! I do have a question that is really bugging me and hope you or one of your followers can help or point me to the proper video. I am trying to figure out how to set a virtual instrument to 1 or 2 keys only and split the rest of the keys on my controller to a different sound/virtual instrument. I came very close (or so I thought) but, no dice. I am using S1v6 and a Roland DS keyboard.
Thank you all in advance!!
John
On the listen tool I think you can play the whole song by clicking on the grey bar at the top where your bar labels are located. Not sitting at my DAW at the moment.
As usual, your video is clear and most importantly concise. You avoid the habit to drone on incessantly for 7 minutes before getting to the point. I also like that you keep things in small chunks so I can go to a specific topic and get information quickly. It’s one thing to know what you’re doing, it’s another thing to communicate that clearly and in a linear fashion. So many RUclipsrs jump around to sidebar after sidebar.
It would be great if you could do a video on groove editing, and audio bending and quantizing. The current collection of videos are not as clear and thorough as they could be.
I did not know that! (1:26)
Knew them all.
Damn! I'll have to find more!
@@studioonerevealed and you will....it's guys like you bringing us users kinda full exposure on the software...and also 'reminding us of what we've learned but forgotten to use.....
Please do a video about the bend marker. I believe we can quantize a sample recorded live and that is not on the grid perfectly.
I just got on the studio one monthly pay. I have had it for two days now, and your videos have helped a lot, Do most people just buy it outright instead of subscriptions? Thanks
Lots I didn’t know😳
Glad to hear that! Well, kinda:)
There were quite a few things in the video that I didn't know. I think it would be great if you could make a more in-depth video on how/why to use the bend tool.
I'd like to do that Doug :)
I have Studio One 6 and am a beginner at creating music. Im having trouble finding a way to fade in and fade out my tracks.
I found if I press my scroll wheel I get a little window that shows all the selection tools I can choose from
How did you get rid of the splits and allow the track to become one unit again, I have a series of short recordings/tracks that I want to combine into one track
You can select the clips and bounce them (control B) or you can merge them (control G -less permanent) .
@@stephencarter8625 Thanks Stephen
My recording room is not sound proof. Is there an edit feature in Studio One that could make my recording sound as if it was recorded in a sound proof room?
Ctr+1 cycle doesn't work in my SO 6.0.1 on win 10 pro
We are still missing the " scrub tool".
True!
@@studioonerevealed Hey good morning from Montreal !
I still don't know why they haven't implemented the scrub... Doesn't make sens...
Cheers !
Agreed, a scrub tool would be useful. As a work around, you can analyse with Melodyne (don’t know if the basic version is still included with S1) and use its scrub function if that helps!
@@stephencarter8625 Well it might, but not user friendly… I do 100% live music so lots of audio editing. No grid nor quantization.
All DAWS I have worked with since 1997 😏 got a scrub tool. And one other tool would be the « waveform pencil corrector » like in ProTools.
Very convenient to repair audio glitches.
Cheers !
Box sings....
Wow thanks for showing this!Just usually use the fade in/out range, splitter, and erase tool.Been trying to get around the automation tool but can't seem to figure how to "engage" it.This helps immensely!🤖🦾
