I bought this plugin by BX_ after hearing a comparison test by another popular mixer on RUclips. Compared to many other channel strips, I found this one incredibly nice to hear. Don’t be fooled by the “hiphop” reputation… it has very nice treble too, better than the other SSL’s and Focusrite SC I heard on the same track. 🎉
It’s definitely not shit‼️ And I have to say, out of all of my SSL plugins I own, I’ve been reaching for this one more lately, especially for vocals. It sounds amazing 💯
@@StudioLife101 Sean you never tried the softube eli Mike-e comp it's sound like a distressor with the option to saturate from the fatso. I always use it as a distressor and it sound more real than the uad one, even tough the uad one is still very good.
This is on sale right now if anyone's interested till March 18th. I'm struggling to choose between rhis or the 4000 E. I make hip-hop mostly and know they are both great in their own way. Hmmm.
Not really....TMT creates slight differences between channels.....eq....panning...saturation...so although useful for getting an analogue style sound, it can quickly create smeared mixes if used on everything. Think of it as creating a desk that needs a service...😂

Probably my favorite SSL channel plug. I own the UAD version as well but this one seems to have a more authentic tone.

Not an SSL guy, but the 9000J is to my liking. Not quite sure, but it's in between the the G/E and the Amek 9099 (see you there ...)

Definitely go with the 9000 then. Unless you're making old school boom bap hip hop.
