i prefer Microsoft now after watch the video and actually it’s a bit impossible for Brazilians to get a 3090 because it costs about 20 minimum wage. Xbox is much more affordable for Brazilians and it does a good job as we can see. I’m glad.

Years ago, I gave up on flight sims because my level of obsessing with performance outwayed the actual enjoyment of just playing. Now, with my Series X, Thrustmaster Full Kit, LG CX TV and Razer Keyboard and Mouse I'm perfectly happy to fly again.

Same here, I stopped years ago after realizing that I was spending more time tweaking and looking at the FPS count rather than actually enjoying the simulator. I am running the flight sim on a Series S and I am extremely happy. Still wondering how much better it would look on a Series X.

Great in depth video Mark, you raise some points I hadn't considered (on both sides). I think from a VR perspective and freeware add-ons, it's a no brainer for PC users. However, I think it's remarkable how they've managed to port the sim over to the X Box, what an achievement! Take care.

I just want to thank you for not only this video but other videos on this channel. Having watched most of your videos & I have now purchased MSFS202 for XBox-X as it made perfect financial sense. I've been simming for a number of years now & my last PC flightsim rig cost me over £2500 back in 2016 sadly that PC doesn't run the current titles so when i told my wife that I wanted to spend £3500 on a new PC she nearly had apoplexy. Luckily for both of us I found this video & for a 1/4 of the price of a new PC I now have this on XBox & I am delighted with it so far. Please keep the XBox videos coming & thank you once again.

Hi Mark. You have no idea how good your video did to me. I'm a fan of MFS and was very frustrated that I was missing this new 2020 because I wouldn't spend US$2000 on a PC. When I watched this video, it changed everything. I already ordered my Xbox X and I can't wait for the day I receive it and start enjoying this fantastic sim. Thank you very much for publishing this very informative video.

First class guide, Mark, thank you. I think the PC with your 3090 GPU was definitely more crisp. Given I only need the hardware for MSFS I am going the XBox route if I can ever find one to buy. The lack of VR on XBox is a definition negative but given the price point it’s not exactly a huge investment to waste if I subsequently upgrade to PC. A kind of training rig!

Wait until they update it to directx 12 on pc. Xbox series x runs directx 12 already. So Fps and visuals should have lot more room to improve. If you are interested into becoming a commercial airline pilot you will want to start with a $4000 PC and yoke and go from there. Hello from Phoenix Arizona. Thank you for the video. You’re one of the only channels that I’ve seen the talks about flight simulator in the hardware that you might want to use with it. I’m a private pilot, but I can’t fly anymore due to a medical issue. And I have played flights in the past but it’s been about 20 years. So I’m thinking about getting the latest version, but I’m a Mac user so I would have to invest in a PC and I’m not sure exactly what kind of hardware I would need. Anyway, I know your channel covers out thank you and looking forward to watching your other videos.

    Great review - thank you.
My issues with PC flight Sims are now; Cost, conflicts, Windows (updates and other cr@p trying to enforce obsolescence upon my PC and me etc), also tweaking settings. I used to enjoy the cut and thrust of that kind of thing, now? I just want to fly a quality flight sim, fully accepting that I'm not in a real aeroplane (I'm not yet a fan of VR). In addition with the current complexity of MSFS 2020, it won't be possible to run a dedicated air-gapped PC? Thus at this stage I'm almost done with Microsoft PC based software - as I'm not a fan of Microsoft or Windows 10 etc.
X-Box? New to me. As I just want to be able to use my pedals, yoke or stick, it might be the answer. My current stick and pedals are common or garden, popular, if Xbox can't accommodate those? Then I may have issues. Having products from third parties would be a nice to have too though in Xbox.
One thing that would be good is some sort of ATC add on in Xbox so as to speak with real people and have realistic ATC.

I’ve played FS for 20 years and I came to the point where I can’t justify for 1 game, replacing my laptop with decent specs for over £1500. I purchased the Xbox S to see how I got on and what I thought of it. After a few days of it my thoughts are instantly…….
Lack of a 2D or flat cockpit style……moving controls about and adjusting the view seems clumsy. Sometimes I can’t see over the nose to land.or see.
No Tower View at the airports…..truly showing the livery and flight models. Viewing your landing and crabbing in crosswinds etc and other aircraft movements.
Unable to record or replay parts of your flight.
I hope some of these maybe in future updates……other “Flight Sims” can do it! If anyone can through any light on these I may continue the journey with Xbox!

Most of us would give them extra time to insure they get it right when updates or fixes go public. Thanks for your fair and open analytics, Mark!

Honestly, I play on the Xbox Series S and you get a very capable console with good visuals for a way cheaper price. Let's face it, were not comparing a high end PC to an Atari system. If you must have the latest and greatest to be the king of the block than have at it, I'm good the the S.

Just the review I needed. The XBox X in my country costs abt USD 700/-. For USD 700 you can get a Ryzen 5 3550H, 4GB GTX1650 with 8GB RAM. So do I go for X or will the equivalent PC for $700 that I mentioned above do the job if I add an extra 8gb ram? I don't need 4k. 30fps at 1080p is good enough at high settings.

I have this on Xbox series X and have been blown away of how well it runs. I’m not a serious flight sim guy myself, mainly because I fly for a living, on the A320 to be precise. The general aviation stuff seems pretty good, however I’m massively disappointed in the Airbus, it literally does not work how the real thing works at all, I understand that 3rd party versions of the Airbus are a lot better than the stock version, which in my professional opinion is a mess.

That's coming from a guy who's been building top tier PCs for 35 years (since I was six). The Xbox entertainment experience is just exceptional. It requires zero user savvy and makes changing from game to game as quick and easy as changing TV channels. I admit I might have been too conservative with the 2023. date - however when taking all known details combined with the development factors and the continual support for the existing version and business entities into account - no stable release of the new X-Plane platform will be available before the H2 2022.

Hi, I know his video was recorded a while back, so hope you see this message. I want to get my son either a Xbox or PC or gaming Laptop for Christmas. What would be the best choice on a budget? He is only 9 years old!!! But so enthusiastic about flight simulators and wants to become a pilot in future. He even has a RUclips channel with tens of thousands of viewers regarding planes and flying!!!! It’s all beyond me lol! But the obvious upgrade is to Microsoft Flight simulator. So what device should I get to run it (and also record the flights for RUclips) without going rediculous on price for a nine year old? (We are based in the UK, plus abroad at times, so portability is a bonus). Cheers

I would recommend an Xbox series X. Portable, less hassle with configuration etc. Recording on RUclips is the only draw back, bit more complicated. Need a video capture card for live capture or usb memory stick (64gb or more) to record session….then transfer to pc for upload to RUclips. Xbox headphones recommended for recording voice.

RUclips must be psychic !!...I built a new gaming pc about 6 months ago but couldn't find a reasonably priced mid to high end graphics card so went with a Nvidia 2060 RTX 6gb , for the most part it runs very well and since the sim update 5 I can run MSFS 2020 at ultra settings on 2560x1440. I spend more time fannying around trying to tweak the settings and running it in vr with my Quest 2 to fairly frequent moments of frustration. A slightly different way of looking at one aspect of the end summary about good first year support and things getting strained now with the Xbox version out - I'd say that PC players only got the level of game you've seeing in the first year as this was always funded with a dual pc/console release planned so PC players have got used to something which wouldn't have been supported to that level if a PC exclusive. You needed the console gamepass bucks to get the platform where it is now. Some would be happy I guess with a lesser PC only game but I don't subscribe to the view the console will hold this back, the console made this what it is in the first place thru funding.
