What a great first review , thank you. I’m using this product with x box series s and I’m impressed with it so far, one thing I have noticed is rudder is very sensitive so I’m looking forward to watching your configuration and settings videos soon. Thanks again for a great start.
I added some electrical tape around the throttle quadrant levers, 3-4 layers added a good level of resistance to it, then add lubrication to get rid of the noise
Thanks Mark. I purchased the Turtle Beach 10 months ago. As I got better at flying, landing and takeoffs it became unbearable. The stickiness in the yoke made my landings and takeoffs too jerky. I tried dead zones and non linear curves in the settings. Still no improvement. Finally I bought the Honeycomb Alpha. The difference is night and day. The Honeycomb Alpha gives you millimetre precision on takeoffs and landing. It is that good, but a lot more expensive. The Turtle Beach is a great piece of affordable kit for the beginner. When you are learning, you don't know any better and people are going to enjoy it. If you get more serious, you need to upgrade to Honeycomb which is very expensive for the yoke and the quadrant. Your review nailed it!
Great review - thanks for uploading. It's good to know the concerns around the pitch stickiness the lightness associated with the levers. At the price point it might hold out buying for a while longer to see how these concerns fare out.
Your RUclips videos are brilliant. Very simple, clear and informative. As a novice simmer they have got me on the journey. The videos on the VelocityOne sold me on that, and I now have one of those. Anyway, now that Turtle Beach have released the 1.10 update and the detent controls are available on the XBox, it would be really good if you could do an update to the configuration video showing how you would now recommend we set up reverse thrust. Work around 1 is fine - but complex. And now that the detent capability is there I would love to see how that would influence your expert recommendation on how we should implement that in the profiles that we have created. Thanks for your good work - it is appreciated.
Mark, Great Review. I dont have this Yoke ( Full Saitek setup here....) but a friend of mine does ( on X-Box series X) and he shares the same enthusiasm as you, but sadly 'had' the same 'sticky' sensation during some pitch manoeuvres that your experiencing ( he's flying the TBM930 ) however, what he has discovered is that if his aircraft is perfectly trimmed ( and this is from a retired pilot) he finds there's no sticky input whatsoever! If the column was physically 'sticky' it would be sticky all the time, during all stages of flight! He's also had the same feedback from the company suggesting it should wear in time, and he's got the documentaion in-place for a return, HOWEVER! my friend is now saying that the column actually feels more realistic/lifelike because of this situation. He feels like the aircraft is actually ' fighting back, against the trim forces, simply because its not properly trimmed ( and you do have to trim often). He's now confident that the trim alone is the answer to his problem, and maybe yours,so maybe give this a thought/try and see what your feedback is?

One of the main reasons I bought it was of the rudder controls on the yoke, as I have a gammy leg so can't use rudder pedals. Thanks again Mark for another great video.
Hi Mark, thanks for the nice review, did the stickiness go away after some time as TB said and how about the throttle performance in time? Thanks for the answer greetz PH-DOC
Nice review! I had been racking my brains trying to work out the point of selecting profiles on the yoke itself. Now I get it😉 and know it’s nothing too critical for me. Thanks for clearing that up!

The Logitech yoke can be sticky too, my solution is to lube the shaft with candle wax. Simply rub a parafin candle hard over the shaft and move it in and out a lot. Yes yes, I know about the inuendo of lubing the shaft and moving it. :)
@@SimHangerFS trust me though, it will help and being a hard wax, it won't be sticky other than a few white deposits. Seriously, it works. Doesn't collect dirt because it's a dry lube.

I've had mine a few days Mark and reported the sticky problem to Turtle Beach, they said it will free up with use. My concern is how long can we let it work loose before they refuse to RMA it if it remains sticky. Someone else said is you apply upward pressure on the yoke the stickiness is reduced. I do hope the stickiness does vanish because the unit is a well thought out concept. My other gripe, like you, is the looseness of the 4 power levers, they really do need more resistance.
I know you can't use the throttle without the yoke, but if you plugged in a flight stick at the same time as the yoke, could you use the flight stick for control and leave the yoke itself to the side, and just use the throttle?
I really like my Honeycomb Alpha, but this yoke looks pretty nice. I like that it has triggers/bumpers for rudders, and having the screen looks handy for figuring out what all the controls do.

Thanks for really precious information. My Yoke often time stuck when pull or push and move uncontrolled in a big step. You have any idea how ro make movements smoother. Use oil or something?
I had purchased this directly from Microsoft store. Had to return it, as the yoke was "sticking" and not sliding smoothly. It made take off nd landings impossible. The only control I enjoyed and was made well, was the Trim Wheel.

Did anyone have issues with the trim wheel not responding? Its not registering in the when scanning, nor is it showing in the training menu on the yoke.
I had to click to scan input for elevator trim then turn the wheel about 3 full revolutions or so to get it to recognize. Make sure you're scanning on the quad if using PC, not yoke.

Any fix for the Cursor toggle? I am having issues during the training mode on MFS. I have to use my Xbox controller to access the Cursor feature. This is unfortunate since I've only owned this for two days.
How do you control rudder on final approach and power at the same time? One hand on yoke and the other on power. You can’t do this in this controller. Is there any rudder available to add on?
@@SimHangerFS yes I understand that. That is sooo wrong. You have to have one hand on Power all the time on final approach. Any real Pilot knows that. What you should have done, is to comment this. When you say you won't compare this device to the Honeycomb because they are aimed at different markets.... Can you explain what you mean by that? What market is the honeycomb aimed at, and what market the velictyone? Thanks!
A "clearly defined center" in the pitch and yaw axis is something that does not exist in a real aircraft and technically does not need to be there, but is there and something that I personally find to be extremely annoying about this yoke. Any fix for the Cursor toggle? I am having issues during the training mode on MFS. I have to use my Xbox controller to access the Cursor feature. This is unfortunate since I've only owned this for two days.
Can the twin engine jet setting be used with twin engine prop?
Yes, I have a number of config guides for this unit on my channel.
How do you control rudder on final approach and power at the same time?
One hand on yoke and the other on power. You can’t do this in this controller.
Is there any rudder available to add on?
You use the trigger buttons, left and right on the yoke to control rudder, the triggers are an axis.
@@SimHangerFS yes I understand that. That is sooo wrong. You have to have one hand on Power all the time on final approach. Any real Pilot knows that.
What you should have done, is to comment this. That the solution they give us to control rudder is very very wrong. And they should have the option for rudder pedals. ASAP.
When you say you won't compare this device to the Honeycomb because they are aimed at different markets.... Can you explain what you mean by that? What market is the honeycomb aimed at, and what market the velictyone?
Thanks!
The Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo (you have to include both to compare to V1F) fall into a very different price bracket. Circa £600 vs £350.
A "clearly defined center" in the pitch and yaw axis is something that does not exist in a real aircraft and technically does not need to be there, but is there and something that I personally find to be extremely annoying about this yoke. I wish someone would post a video that includes a view of the inner workings of this yoke to explore the possibilities of eliminating that bump in the axis travel.
Did the stickiness wear off after a bit of use? Thanks
Partially
@@SimHangerFS thank you, I’ve just ordered one which arrived today and haven’t even opened the box yet, but wondering whether to or not. 🤔😂
Great video ! Have you tried it in vr? If so, any issues ?
Linear throttles are great, but top levers too sensitive in VR.
@@SimHangerFS Roger that. Had any problems with actual VR itself not working and/or causing crashes?
@@johncrichton4341 yes exiting and returning to vr often crashes.
Hi Mark how do you start the engine via velocity 1 thanks.
So quick question, im using the single prop config. Whenever i hit the view button to toggle cursor, nothing happens. Im am also unable to use the pov switch #1 to move the cursor in the menu. This is what the manual says will move the cursor and i have checked to make sure the buttons are right on the game and they are…
I couldn’t get it working either. I believe it is a known bug in the default config
So you can only fly twin engines and down and not like the Boeing 747? With 4 engines
It's possible to buy and use only the throttle stand alone with the port c? I like it but of course I prefer my Brunner yoke and don't want this yoke
No, TQ is not stand alone.
Any updates on the small pitch adjustments?
Trim is very well implemented now.
hi, i heard that the twelve front leds (SIP) are not working yet, they say they will work with a future update, is that true?
Do you know when it might come out?
SIP is under beta test right now. 😀
@@SimHangerFS this is good news, thank you :).
I ordered velocity one yesterday, where can i follow the updates? Discord, facebook ...?
