Hi and thanks for your video : I've just got into this 'Home Flight Sim' stuff with a view to build an experience basis in X Plane 11 from tutorials and literature study before looking at booking flying lessons one day. I have a Turtle Beach Velocity One Yoke (plus a new computer to manage the program needs along with a Logitech rudder pedal unit). I was planning to go with Microsoft Flight Simulator Premium 2020 , but chose X Plane 11 after some better reviews. But, I'm having problems mapping in the controls now with Velocity. The TPM Linear lever controls (throttle, props, mix) and right side programmable buttons don't respond to what I've tried to adapt them to (eg flaps and parking brake), all that works so far with the yoke is pitch, roll, yaw and rudder control with the yoke triggers and the view perspectives on the D-Pad. I have followed a video guide for X Plane, but only have the operational responses I've listed. Any advice that can help is appreciated, thank you!
I don’t like the throttle buttons but I understand with the dual throttle controls. Very rare to see TPM controls on a yoke, makes it a very attractive option. I have the saitek yoke and it’s meh.
Hi, great vid. Is it possible in x-box flight sims to pair two yokes together to get that realistic visual configuration like the typical dual yoke set up we would see in most single engine training aircraft ? I want to teach my wife to fly the sim and a realistic looking set up where both the controls work would be great.
It looks like the vernier throttle/prop/mixture controls are just kind of "for show"? It looks like rather than having them only turn left/right unless you press the silver button, they can always be moved forward/backwards?
No pushbutton to unlock, and no twist to adjust tension. All for show. Plastic cheap-ass. This is the cheapest part of the unit. The vernier only pushes in and out, and it's a light aluminum rod with colored plastic ends. Sad.
Can I still use my Saitek rudder pedals with this yoke? This will make a big difference in purchase options for me. I'm using a gaming PC at the moment.
the Turtle Beach has served me well for 2 years of full use. It shows no signs of wear. Buy it, it is the only one with integrated throttles and vernier style.
I can't believe he didn't show it. It takes less time to disconnect the throttle quadrant than he spent talking about it. There is a USB-C cable connecting it to the yoke, and a plastic retaining clip you press in to release, then slide the entire quadrant to the right.
It’s very comparable. Both have 180-degree roll and are well made. Turtle Beach includes a trim wheel and throttle quadrant, which is a separate product for Honeycomb (Bravo). TB also works with Xbox, which Honeycomb does not at this time. However, the Honeycomb Alpha is a great yoke and right now our most popular. Shaping up to be a Coke/Pepsi contest.
i know this is 7 months ago but you can move the throttle around even if its not connected to the yoke, tit just has to be connected with the wire, thats why the wire is very long.
can someone that uses this in PC share the working mapping file... C:\Users\(name)\AppData.... inputprofile_(xxxx...numbers) is a xml file... thanks in advance
This one may get closer to a racing sim than other flight yokes, due to the 90 degree roll distance. 90 degree on both sides, as demonstrated in the video. No force feedback on this unit, though.
Need compatible foot pedals with Microsoft Simulator XBOX SERIES X - Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flight Universal Control System Can anyone recommend compatible foot pedals?
You'd have to come up with some sort of mounting solution, there isn't a clamp or anything on the throttle. However, it detaches from the yoke and is connected by a USB cable
Mine is going back. My right hand buttons crapped out, no right hand brake and no right rudder, had it fixed, not long had it back same issue, it's crap, so going to demand a refund, not want this crap.
Turtle Beach needs to address the following issues with a firmware update: 1. Rudder pedals (specifically the toe brakes) are not found almost every time the system is shut down and up again. 2. Random and sudden faulty elevator axis wheel input to + - 100% which causes uncontrolled crashes. And these mechanical issues: 1. Sticky yoke 2. Throttles that are too loose Get it together Turtle Beach and stop selling crap!
This is the second review you have done that I have seen on a yolk where there is a huge delay between your input and the aircraft on-screen response.
whtas yoke was the first?
Just to let you know. 2 years after you posted this it was still helpful in what i wanted to by for Flight Sim 24

Don't forget the Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke, recently released - that also works with the xbox
We'll have a review of that one soon!
Yes and it's also £100 more expensive 😄
that's what I was thinking I'm planning on getting that yoke.
that table where did you get it?
I don’t like the throttle buttons but I understand with the dual throttle controls. Very rare to see TPM controls on a yoke, makes it a very attractive option. I have the saitek yoke and it’s meh.

Triggers, the top buttons you have for left and right brake are bumpers
Does the elevator axis return to neutral? When you pull back on the yoke, dos feel real?

Yeah, I’m pretty sure you don’t need to push them in to control mixture and stuff
Yes, not really vernier like everyone says. They don't turn or have a push button.
No pushbutton to unlock, and no twist to adjust tension. All for show. Plastic cheap-ass. This is the cheapest part of the unit. The vernier only pushes in and out, and it's a light aluminum rod with colored plastic ends. Sad.
cool rev
i wonder if it works with iMac with M1

Yes you can.
Where did you buy your desk?
Which one do you recommend the Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flight or Honeycomb Alpha&Bravo? As they share similar designs.
having both, the Alpha and Bravo are the way to go....the Turtle beach...sucks
@@doubleitp trying to decide between the 2 myself... can you expound on why/what you do/dont like on both?
the Turtle Beach has served me well for 2 years of full use. It shows no signs of wear. Buy it, it is the only one with integrated throttles and vernier style.
@@doubleitp well yeah and the alpha/bravo combo is also about $600 total soooo
How can i buy this yoke in Brazil?
Can I detach throttle quadrant from the yoke? Thanks 4 your time
Disregard.

Thanks for the video, how do you compare it to the Honeycomb Alpha controls?
That’s exactly what I wanna lnow

@@sportyspilotshop hows the pitch feel from the turtle beach compared to honeycomb does it use same ball bearings or different mechanism
Can I move that throttle compartment to the left side of the yoke ?
i know this is 7 months ago but you can move the throttle around even if its not connected to the yoke, tit just has to be connected with the wire, thats why the wire is very long.
Can I use it with P3DV4 sim
They could have developed a separate hardware component for the rudder controls such as a foot pedal instead of triggers.
They are developing them currently and they should be released this year
@@bfife22 They have them. They work very nicely on my XBox Series X
@@YIFlywhich ones?
For Xbox series x you need to add their joystick and jet throttle combo and plug the pedals into that. On Mac and Pc, they just work in usb port.
@@YIFlyis this a good buy for the Xbox x? Would you recommend? Thanks
is it wireless for the Xbox ?
Can I mount the logitech panels on it?
This
Are there any foot pedals that work with the Xbox?
Yes, but they come separately and they are $300
can someone that uses this in PC share the working mapping file... C:\Users\(name)\AppData.... inputprofile_(xxxx...numbers) is a xml file... thanks in advance
would be great if the LCD could be used as an AP display....for ALT, IAS, VS etc.
Any feedback from the yoke like I would feel in a racing sim
no yokes have that
This one may get closer to a racing sim than other flight yokes, due to the 90 degree roll distance. 90 degree on both sides, as demonstrated in the video. No force feedback on this unit, though.
Tca thrustmaster is xbox compatible however its almost double the price 😳

How would you compare it thrusmatser yoke?
Which one
Can you use your oculus
Yes with MSFS2020.
I'm 😨😫scared to ask how much it costs.
200€ up to 500€ depends, you can get a slightly damaged one from amazon for cheap.
i mean lil scratches on the plastics.
I have question can you mount the throttle somewhere else or does it have to be connected to the yoke?
You'd have to come up with some sort of mounting solution, there isn't a clamp or anything on the throttle. However, it detaches from the yoke and is connected by a USB cable
Thanks, here's a comment for the algorithm.

My throttle doesn't work a good portion of the time
It's hilarious; they literally have a category on their support site called "One side unresponsive" or something close to that.

Do we really need to spend more than $400 to get something decent?? The quality per dollar is seriously lacking in this space.
