With my new setup (7950X3D, 4080S, 64GB DDR5) I can run FBW 380 (8K) at around 42-45fps for the most part, and around 30fps at poorly optimised addon airports. That's on Ultra 4K. Pretty happy with it! Whatever 2024 brings, I'm sure CPU optimisation will be had, but very interested to see what they did in the space of multithreading optimisation!
I've already upgraded - after my birthday in the summer I upgraded my PC to a Ryzen 7600x, rtx 3070 and 32gb ram. Not groundbreaking but boosted my fps in 2020 to around 60-70 fps (i was getting 20-30fps with my old ryzen 2700, gtx 1060, 16gb), so ive been enjoying the better use of 2020 for the last few months, and my reckoning/hope is that 2024 will work even better, but even if it doesn't, i should be getting 30-40fps on the new sim, which I'll be more than happy with!
The question for me is will it perform as well as 2020 & I think it will ultimately perform better with win 11 H25 (which should relieve stress on the processor by loading graphics directly from the cloud) & multithreading but won't know for sure for another week. I won't spend a dime on a new computer if mine works as well as it did on 2020. If moneys no object then do what ever you want but not everyone can buy a new PC nor needs to if the're getting decent performance. I have 4+ good years on msfs 2020 & expect a little more for msfs 2024. I'm more excited about the smaller footprint with faster loading better visuals with seasons, better trees etc. not to mention multi threading. I'll find out soon !
Mmmm yes Keep calm and Carry on as I recall, being very good advice after looking at a whole new PC. Which is a humungous price these days, here in NZ. Only a few days to go here now. Thanks. Laurie. NZ.
Am waiting on a 9800x3d to be delivered, and no doubt I’ll be waiting again for the 5090 to replace the 4090… I do play solely in VR though, so anything I can do to feed the Aero headset is going to help. The 5800x3d and 4090 combo is great, but the headset could still benefit from more power.
8000mhz Memory is not going to be stable unless the system uses a very expensive motherboard. Lower cost motherboards will have the signal wires on the same plane, or on the front and back of the board, and at these speeds, the lands can crosstalk. Then most expensive boards have multiple layers that can space the lands so that they don't crosstalk. For MSFS 2024 though, the CPU is still the bottlneck in the system. For a 13900K or 13900KF, 6000mhz or 6400mhz memory will keep pace with the CPU and will be stable on lower end boards. For 14900K or KF, 6400k is all you need, and going faster could wind up with instablity unless you have a higher end mothereboard. I tried several memory speeds on my 13900KF, and there was not really any beneift past 6000, and the cost of going faster is higher than it was worth. The game is still in the end, CPU limited, but it is absoutely correct that enabling XMP and using an XM overclock profile will improve a sysem that has XMP disabled and is running Intel recemmended fastest memory. I am a major believer in using overcloied memory, though I have no interest in ovecloocing my CPU or GPU.
@shenmisheshou7002 check out the hardware unboxed X870 roundup, plenty of cheaper boards stable at 8000MHz including the Tomahawk. Tests have shown that while MFS2020 Average FPS is very CPU limited, 0.1 lows are massively effected by memory speed.
i mean, not really still. would need 10x the power of a 4090, or at least 4-5x + better upscaling, to have an actual good VR experience. Maybe in 5-10 years. @@channelvr1293
Running at 8700k 2070Super 32gb RAM, 1440p monitor, customed to high settings, smooth asf. Streaming 1080p on Facebook Live. Averaging at 35-40 in modded airports. MSFS 2020.
I had multi-core performance issues fixed in DCS (another flight sim also demanding on hardware) by unparking my CPU cores (using Quick CPU). You may already have tested it, but in case... Very effective. Could be a good subject for your channel (if not already done, sorry for my comment if that's the case).
I have updated hardware, still kicking AM4 5700x3d. I ditched my old x570 and it showed signs of aging, got a new MSI b550 w/ 3600 64gb CL 16 ram. Recently I ditched my 6750xt to an Acer A770, say what you want about the A770 but it has brought a whole new life to my having experience and FS 2020 looks amazing. So will see if this holds up to 2024.
All my cores and logical processors are working hard under MSFS2020 and 2024 - you need to change a setting to achieve this but it is possible to optimise usage of your CPU.
I've had my i5-9600K / 2070 / 32 GB setup since 2018 and I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs with the new sim. I'm willing to upgrade in the next year or so but it really needs to make sense and have a noticeable result. The ultimate goal would be to finally test and use VR for flight simming in the future. I have a widescreen 3440 x 1440 display but it feels like a phone screen now.
I'm really hoping that the 7900X makes good use of the second chiplet and that other strategy/sim gams start using more than 8 cores. It would be nice for flight sim enthusiasts to have an option that is readily available. It might even make arrow lake useful for sim fans when you pair it with fast CUDIMM memory.
Been considering upgrading. I've got a Ryzen 7 3700 and an RTX 3070, so well in the recommended specs. I've got 32Gb RAM, but it's pretty slow by today's standards (DDR4-3200MHz, downgraded to 3000MHz due to stability issues). Will wait and see what the performance is like before making a decision. MSFS2020 is quite playable for me at the moment, although I'm running at 1080p and some detail levels turned down, but VR performance is baaaaad! Lowest detail settings I get reasonable enough frame rates, but very jerky motion when I turn my head.
Ive got a 3950x still, i dont really want to drop my core count much by buying a 9800x3d, so I'll be waiting for the 9900x3d and 9950x3d to come out and compare them all before making a decision.
I have a 5700x3d (decent die with a small overclock -boost 4.12 ghz). 4070s and 32gb 3600 ram. 100mbs internet. I had 3 hours on it tonight. . It was smooth and less stuttery than 2020. Running 4k 16:9 dlss perf. No FG. Everthing ultra except lighting settings set to high. Terrain detail 120 and object detail 120. Looks absolutely stunning. Fly the grand canyon at sun rise ...... Just wow. Ive had no noticeable streaming glitches or slow draw times. Smooth looking 50-60fps in rural areas even under 500feet with high foilage count. Btw. Get an x3d . Dont f around with standard x or intel. 5700x3d is very affordable and works well on 24 if you havent upgraded to am5 yet. Obviously. A 5070/80 and 9800x3d will absolutely rip in this game. But its not really needed yet. Unless you want vr or ultrawide 4k Havent gone to any mega cities like tokyo or new york yet. Sure ill see more fps dips there. Standard load was 70-80% gpu 8-9gb vram , 20-30% cpu , 17-20gb ram
I have a 4090 and 7900x in my build. Just hope I can get 1440p 60+ fps. Going to be upgrading to an x3d chip sometime soon so I can get that sweet 3d v cache. So pumped to pull my flight yoke back out and have some aeronautical shenanigans.
as long as you reach 100kbps or more (see via speed test) you should be fine. ask the people that pay for your internet what plan they have. nowadays you dont pay your internet per usage (like with mobile data) but rather you get unlimited access with a limit of how much stuff go through your internet.
The same that work with msfs2020. The msfs2024 is using remote playing, including aircraft’s, airport textures, etc. So you don’t need a super power PC, you will need that Asobo fix the server’s capabilities and be able to stream all the data to your PC. Remember that MSFS2020 runs smooth with very good graphics on Xbox series X, and MSFS2024 was designed to achieve that same specs.
I had a chance to test tech alpha on my "beefy" PC - i7-8700, RTX 3070, 32GB, 1Gb internet - and I share your opinion that MSFS using CPU more effectively. I had less than 12 hours with it so did not come close to any deep comparison but my impression was it behave better than 2020 on my hardware.
Thanks for the video. I have a 5800X3D with 32GB RAM and an RTX 3080Ti. CPU struggles a bit at busy airports in 1440p, but generally OK. I'm hoping that it will still be good for MSFS 2024. At some point I'll build a 9800X3D with 64GB RAM as well (and maybe a 4080), but if I can lose the CPU bottleneck by it using more cores, that would be ideal!
Same specs here. I'll probably get a 9950X3D, and 64gb, and leave my 3080ti untouched. I run mostly PMDG737 and Fenix A320. I guess the 9950X3D might handle these study-level aircraft while being at complex airports much better than the 9800X3D. Just a guess. Still need to wait for the release of MSFS2024.
I upgraded 2 years ago (i913900k/rtx4090/32Gb 6400 ram/z790mb/1000w psu) and this continues to work great for me (mainly PCVR). Sounds like there isn't going to be the need to do any further upgrades for msfs2024. Maybe I'll be able to ride things out until nvidia rtx6000 series gpu's are released in 2-3 years, lol!
i didnt wait. I ordered a 9800X3D with a 7900GRE and 64gb ram. Had to since my current system is a ryzen 5 3600 with a 2060 and 32gb ddr4. Couldnt even run starfield at ultra on 1440p ;)
For those primarily using Microsoft Flight Simulator and doing a bit of productivity work, it’s hard to justify spending extra on a mid-to-high range PC, especially when the simulator itself isn’t fully optimized. You end up paying a lot for only a slight improvement, even with the help of artificial frame generation (FG).
Im going VR 4K each eye. I imagine the RTX 5090 should handle it. Ill give my 3080ti a shot at it first. From watching reviews i can already tell im gonna need to upgrade.
I've got a Ryzen 9 5950X with 64GB 3600mhz DDR4 ram and a Radeon RX7800XT, My screen is a 34" Alienware AW3423DW Oled UHD 1440p ultrawide, I can't stand VR due to it's low res and having to wear glasses due to poor eye sight is a big turn off for me, I use Beam eye tracker which i love as i get all the eye candy my display provides, I'm pretty confident i am covered.
Also, it would be wise to rent FS2024 (via Microsoft Game Pass) before buying. Its a sure-fire way of testing the exact game on your very PC before committing to the full software cost.
One factor I’ve never seen discussed is multiple monitors. I have a main 4k display screen up on the wall. But then a couple of touch screens dor pop out instruments, charting, and a windows desktop. Are these low-demand extra screens a burden for the GPU?
Guys, what do you think about my setup? Is it enough for the new one? - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Zotac RTX 4070 Super - 64gb Crucial 3200mhz DDR4 - Samsung NVMe 990 Pro 2TB It depends on the plane and scenery but I get between 40-120 fps on Mid-high settings on the current sim
I am really hoping frame gen is a feature in MSFS2024, I very recently picked up an RTX 3050 and I hope this will allow me to play MSFS2024 at reasonable performace...
Benchmark difference between the 7800 and the 9800x3d are not worth buying it...i would wait at least 2 gens before even considering replacing the 7800x3d.
I have a 7950X3D and I use Process Lasso to assign flightsimulator2024.exe (and only that file) to the vCache cores. As an experiment, I tried assigning it to the non-vCache cores, and even all 16 cores. I found there was essentially no difference in performance, so I've set it back to the vCache cores only, letting Process Lasso manage all other processes on the other 8 cores. I found that puzzling, to say the least. Perhaps turning off Windows Game Mode and disabling Xbox Game Bar, along with using the Ultimate Power Plan, and using Bitsum's Core Parking app to disable core parking has something to do with it. I think what's happening is that I'm GPU bottlenecked (3090 Ti 24GB.) I can't complain about performance, as I run 4K with DLSS - Quality and mostly Ultra/High settings with TLOD=245 and OLOD=175, and get 50-70 FPS in most cases without frame gen. My conclusion is that FS2024 doesn't use X3D the way FS2020 did, so a faster non-X3D CPU like the 9900X might be the best option. That's purely speculative, based on what I've seen as far as performance is in my testing with my particular system. As far as RAM goes... 64GB all the way. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
I’m already building a new pc for Christmas because why not . 9800X3D, MSI X870E carbon wifi mobo, 64GB of ram and my existing RTX4090. Should run MSFS2024 just fine
Great point--idiotic to assume anything and upgrade in advance. See what early adopters with various systems report and give Asobe some time to work the inevitable initial bugs out before upgrading your current hardware. In my case, my 2019 vintage Ryzen 7 3700X, 16GB RAM, and GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER on a 4K monitor supports reasonable frame rates even on Ultra (most of the time), but there are rare situations where it stutters and momentarily freezes (that may be due to other programs running in the background). I may be able to tweak settings to optimize that, but I want to see how that set-up handles 2024 before deciding to experiment with upgrades on those components vs buying a whole new system (which would be an "Ideal Spec" one for future-proofing). For example, how much difference would 32GB RAM make? As you point out, 30 fps is more than adequate (standard video is 30 fps while film is 24--have you ever watched a movie and thought about frame rates?)...
As currently an Xbox user looking to switch to pc - how much should I expect to spend on a new pc that will be able to run it at a similar output to that on Xbox (better would be good but not after ultra high graphics, been happy with my Xbox experience). Usually use it for commercial airline flights and would like to try add one such as GSX and vatsim
I have a ryzen 7900x and rtx 3090. I'll be waiting for 9800x3d benchmarks on the game. Maybe more cores are key here now the game utalizes all cores now. Maybe more cores = better preformance? Will see how the new Nvidia cards will be once released in January. I'm in no hurry but want to get into vr soonish so I'm just waiting to see what hardware is best.
I see you don’t even bother a flight simulator 2024 if you’re lucky enough to get online it’s somewhat playable. The graphics are great. It is better smooth, but the aircraft models are very flawed and if you bought this out right instead of doing game pass what you just got ripped off.
currently rocking a 5900X, RTX 3080, 32 Gigs of RAM and playing at 1440p. For the most part, i'm happy with my performance, but if Microsoft really get multithreading working porpperly it will be huge, because my GPU is only utilized like 40-60% because of the main thread limiting...
Im running i9-9900k, RTX 2080ti and 32gb ram so I'll run it and see. Probably need to upgrade the processor (1170 socket) to 12900k and graphics (RTX4080 out of my price range so will have to compromise) and in doing so may as well throw in another 32 gb ram, we'll see.
my buddy installed the 7700x I had extra one. he replaced the 7600 with the $7,700 and got a good 30 to 35% boost in performance with just those two extra cores. this benefit did not translate to really any other game so far
I tested the tech alpha on a 5950x/4090 it ran smoother than MSFS and I saw 99% on the GPU! I want to play at 7680x2160, ultra settings. The only question is whether 9950X3D will beat the 9800X3D, is it more frequency or core dependent? My hunch is the 9800X3D will remain king until the next generation.
The lesson from this video is we had to wait for 2024 to come out to see how it performed with various hardware. Do we have any answers yet? As an American, I'm facing possible 25% price increases on basically everything staring on January 20. Probably sooner actually as retailers start anticipating higher prices. Anyway, there's some urgency.
I have a new gaming pc that exceeds the ideal spec... but I was wondering where the Xbox Series X hardware would fall in these categories?.. Equivalent to the "recommended spec"?
LOL// tip nr1 .. dont use MSFS any one.. for benchmark to build a pc... it does not utilize all components I have a RTX4080 and i713700k 64gb DDR5 ram 5200mhz ..gigabite 790UD mb .. Ram runs at 30% ,, CPU 45% GPU 85% And i have stutters and weird artifacts... clean win 11 install .. Also 4k 30fps is verry good..if its stable .. 1080p 60 pfs is perfect .. i run tripple screens 1080p MSI screens 165hz .. i have 65fps all ultra settings.. so im good ..but stil the flickering and artifacts ..trees pop up and go away.. its MSfs and not the PC .. Mine also say ,, limited by Main tread .. but ist running at 45% LOL>...
This is a good video. Far better than most on this subject - A software engineer While it's true that we get more out of MSFS using a high-end CPU rather than a high-end GPU, for the ultimate MSFS experience I'd recommend considering a VR headset (like the Pimax Crystal Light). It's amazing. For that you do want a really good GPU. If someone is just starting to think about hardware upgrades, I'd wait for nVidia to release their new 50xx series GPUs. Then either purchase a second hand 4080 or go for the 50xx series.
That cpu limiting thing really gives me flashbacks to the PS3 where developers where just too lazy to develop the game to correctly use all cores and instead just ported everything over from the Xbox version thus having a much worse looking and running game on the much more potent hardware. I’m to this day shocked that adobo/microsoft even when fs2020 was still in development didn’t manage to program it right away so that it used multi cores efficiently. I mean, even when fs2020 was still in early development, multi cores and games not using it correctly was already a thing
@ unfortunately I still can’t enjoy the a380. It draws a lot of performance and even after modifying the modelconfiguration.ini to support faster than 2x sim rate without deactivating it I found out, that the a380 has that typical issue of starting to climb and descend once you go faster than 2x sim rate. For me, PMDG are the only aircraft that can reliably and continuously handle like 8x sim rate without doing anything stupid. That basically renders the fbw a380 unusable for me for real long haul flights… what a bummer.
No one should be buying anything until FS2024 is out and we see how the new code for core utilisation, that’s different to FS2020, is with higher core count CPU’s AND the 9900x3D and 9950x3D is out. The reason is the higher core count 9000x3D chips are supposed to have cache for both CCD’s unlike previous generations so there won’t be the issue that previous x3D gen’s had, though if you used multiple background programs like so many of us do with flight sims and used Process Lasso to set what programs use what CCD the multi CCD chips could still offer slight better performance than the single CCD 800 chip. So, the smart move is not to rush out and buy a 9800x3D chip right now thinking it’s definitely going to be the best performing chip in FS2024, but to hold your horses till the other two chips are out and see how they compare.
Best tips I can give are: Buy a 4TB NVME SSD (fastest loading times), get 64GB ram (32GB is really not enough), use a RTX 3070 or better and core i7-9700k or better. This is for high/ultra settings
I have a Ryzen 7 5800x system with 16 gigs of RAM and an RTX 3060. How would that run on high settings and the fenix/pmdg/ifly/FBW aircraft along with a payware airport here and there?
I have a i7-4770K. Is that barely enough for MSFS2024 or do i need a better CPU? If I compare the two I dont see a big difference apart of the minimum CPU being just aroung 10% better
The 4770k is going to be very slow. It was a good cpu when it came out, but that was in 2013, over 10 years ago. The 4770k has difficulty with msfs 2020, the 1% lows and stuttering is bad. You might be able to get it to run, but framerates will be bad at almost any resolution. Limited by main thread. I just upgraded from a 4770 equivalent. I got a 5700x3d for 140 dollars on aliexpress, and the difference is night and day. The weakest cpu I would start with is a r5 5600, which can be found around 100 dollars used.
I'm going to sit on what I have: 12700K / 3080TI / 32GB RAM, and see what comes when the sim is out next week. The good thing is, if I do find that I need to upgrade you can get pretty much the recommended rig (14700 / 4080 / 64) for about the same as what I got this for 2 years ago. And with the RTX 50-series coming out soon and Black Friday coming up (after US Thanksgiving), if I need to update I feel like I will be able to.
I am using a 12700k with a 3090 at the moment, but managed to get a 9800x3d. Intel just using more power and less results. Looking forward to the install this week and seeing how it performs.
@daanjansen1949 if you are talking about gpu I woukd say 4070super is the best choice at 1440p, otherwise 7800XT. Cpu wise 7600X or 7700X depending if you need to do multitasking or game only. Of course the 7800x3d would be the best, but the price gone up to the moon because It will be replaced by the 9800X3D. Forget Intel 13th and 14th gen because that platform can't be upgraded.
Hey, RX7900XT-Owner here 😅 The main differences are in my humble opinion the quality and the accsessability. FSR3 and the Framegen is ok for example in games like Avatar or Cyberpunk but its too unprecise an not as perfect as DLSS and Nvidea-Framegen. The main Problem is that its not implemented in the most games. The AMD-Card has enourmus raw power and i can play with TAA on avererage 60 FPS on an 7800x3d but only at normal airports 😅 the processor is the bottlenek as for RTX-Users. Hope they fix this this time 💪🏼 Just ask if you have any additional questions 😊
Is it for sure that MSFS 2024 will be able to use the CPU 's multiple threads? I have 64 GB RTX 2080 I am getting maximum 20-30 fps!! Am waiting on a 9800x3d to be delivered, and no doubt I’ll be waiting again for the 5090 to replace the 4090…
I do play solely in VR though, so anything I can do to feed the Aero headset is going to help. The 5800x3d and 4090 combo is great, but the headset could still benefit from more power.
Excellent. Advice. I'll also wait for msfs 2024 to be released and see if they do like dcs with the multithread update.
I have the same set up as you. 5800x3d with 4080s So I’m going to hold short and see how you do and follow your lead. Thank you for video!
Another thing I noticed in another review is that 8000MT memory has a massive impact on FS2020 FPS 1% lows over 6000MTs, something like 35% increase.
VR users will have to wait and pray...
I am certainly waiting for reports as to the performance in VR before I spend a cent here. I hope it's better than 2020.
Well I'm pre-ordering the RTX5090 with the new AMD 9800X3D it should be ok for playing it in VR. Fingers crossed 🤞
i mean, not really still. would need 10x the power of a 4090, or at least 4-5x + better upscaling, to have an actual good VR experience. Maybe in 5-10 years. @@channelvr1293
Hopefully ideal spec = VR spec with Pimax Crystal (their 'official VR partner)

Running at 8700k 2070Super 32gb RAM, 1440p monitor, customed to high settings, smooth asf. Streaming 1080p on Facebook Live. Averaging at 35-40 in modded airports. MSFS 2020.
I had multi-core performance issues fixed in DCS (another flight sim also demanding on hardware) by unparking my CPU cores (using Quick CPU). You may already have tested it, but in case... Very effective. Could be a good subject for your channel (if not already done, sorry for my comment if that's the case).
Can't wait as Ive upgraded to the 9800 x3D
The Fenix products are just breathtaking. No other developer in the MSFS market can compare to Fenix when it comes to 3D modelling and texturing.
yeah everything is a competition, good better best for the Xbox crowd
You should be fine with a 180-dollar CPU upgrade with that config. Probably 5700X3Ds are the best value nowadays for the AM4 platform.
I just picked up a 9800X3D and the thing is an absolute beast.
Thanks so much for making this video seriously
Unless you want vr or ultrawide 4k
Havent gone to any mega cities like tokyo or new york yet.
Perfect video, like always. Thank you
Honestly, I think the most important question is, is my Internet up to the job, or do I need upgrade that too
as long as you reach 100kbps or more (see via speed test) you should be fine. ask the people that pay for your internet what plan they have. nowadays you dont pay your internet per usage (like with mobile data) but rather you get unlimited access with a limit of how much stuff go through your internet.
*mb/s sorry not kbps
Should be fine, tests on the alpha showed mostly around 20mbps peaking at 50mbps.
My internet speed is 1 Gbps through an RJ45 ethernet connection.
@user-Phillip138 I have the same so I'm not so worried but I feel if your in a large household anything less than 50 and boy that could be a problem
The developers said a minimum of a 12 core processor is needed for high-quality play. So that's interesting. I am waiting for real word data.
The more powerful the PC the better experience you'll get.
The new 500 series cards should be interesting
@@Lonsome1223 I already have one mortgage...
Great video I found that very interesting
I will test the waters first before I go and upgrade it. It might turn out my pc I have now will be okay with it
Runs great on my 7800x3d and 4070ti super.
i didnt wait. I ordered a 9800X3D with a 7900GRE and 64gb ram. Had to since my current system is a ryzen 5 3600 with a 2060 and 32gb ddr4. Couldnt even run starfield at ultra on 1440p ;)
How’s the performance?
Let's not forget to use lossless scaling if needed
Thanks for the video
For those primarily using Microsoft Flight Simulator and doing a bit of productivity work, it’s hard to justify spending extra on a mid-to-high range PC, especially when the simulator itself isn’t fully optimized. You end up paying a lot for only a slight improvement, even with the help of artificial frame generation (FG).
Indeed. A 5700x3D is as good value as it gets.
Im going VR 4K each eye. I imagine the RTX 5090 should handle it. Ill give my 3080ti a shot at it first. From watching reviews i can already tell im gonna need to upgrade.
how about a military jet flying at Mach 2.5 through the Andes at low-low-low altitude ? what kind of fps would be necessary/luxury ?
So looking forward to it. Hope my AMD Ryzen 5800X3D and Radeon 6700XT is good enough
You also need about 32GB of RAM to run this game properly. 16GB is minimal.
bumped from a 12600 to 13900 yesterday. Better smoother VR experience in 2020.
So for 1080p 60fps what should I aim for?
Guys, what do you think about my setup? Is it enough for the new one?
- AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
- Zotac RTX 4070 Super
- 64gb Crucial 3200mhz DDR4
- Samsung NVMe 990 Pro 2TB
It depends on the plane and scenery but I get between 40-120 fps on Mid-high settings on the current sim
As he said: we can't know yet
Considering your current performance you should be fine
GREAT VIDEO!!
On another note, don't you lose clarity when you enable frame gen? You mean DLSS?
I remember times when I bought new games for my pc every now and then...
...nowadays it seems like I have to buy a new pc for every new game released.
I am really hoping frame gen is a feature in MSFS2024, I very recently picked up an RTX 3050 and I hope this will allow me to play MSFS2024 at reasonable performace...
Ryzen 9 7950x3D, RTX 4080 Super, 64 Gb RAM, 2 x 2 TB SSD, 1000 PSU. I don't look at my FPS....It just works fine 😊😊
This is exactly what I just purchased. I was hoping I made the right call. All for VR.
I feel confident that the X3D will beat the non-X3D cpus hands down. I have the 7800X3D, and am considering the 9800X3D (my son can have the old).
I think what's happening is that I'm GPU bottlenecked (3090 Ti 24GB.)
I can't complain about performance, as I run 4K with DLSS - Quality and mostly Ultra/High settings with TLOD=245 and OLOD=175, and get 50-70 FPS in most cases without frame gen.
8950x3d if it comes out? Surely!
I’m already building a new pc for Christmas because why not .

Would it be possible to run on a Mac's virtual machine ?
i just got an i9 13900ks at a great price hope it holds up just need a better gpu
Thank you
The lesson from this video is we had to wait for 2024 to come out to see how it performed with various hardware. Do we have any answers yet? As an American, I'm facing possible 25% price increases on basically everything staring on January 20. Probably sooner actually as retailers start anticipating higher prices. Anyway, there's some urgency.

While it's true that we get more out of MSFS using a high-end CPU rather than a high-end GPU, for the ultimate MSFS experience I'd recommend considering a VR headset (like the Pimax Crystal Light).

@@Glubok Tweaking around with it, I got a slightly better performance and quicker initial loading of my sim. So thanks for your advice :)
@@xXshinichiconanXx3 Am glad for you man. When it comes to flight sim every bit of perf matters. Enjoy your flights.
Will a 1660 super work
I upgraded to 5700X3D and 32 GB of RAM, and I'm saving up for an RX 7800 XT for Christmas
I’ve only got the 10700k and the 3080 I’m not upgrading for one game seems pointless
Best tips I can give are: Buy a 4TB NVME SSD (fastest loading times), get 64GB ram (32GB is really not enough), use a RTX 3070 or better and core i7-9700k or better. This is for high/ultra settings
3070 and i7 9700k aren’t touching 4k, so anything above 32gb ram just for this is ridiculous
😂
And don't forget to unpark your CPU cores (it was very effective for me in DCS, the game ran smoother after that).
Exagerrate more about ram quantity, games hardly using 18gb nowadays, you preachung 32 is not enough... Investing in memory companies?
I’m struggling around 30-40 fps on rtx 3060ti mid graphics. 3440x1440
My old PC won't even be able to load this game. I'm going to buy the AMD Ryzen 9, RTX 4090, 32GB RAM.
The CPU degrade issue is solved by bios updates. So intel is still a good option if you buy a new PC.
We hope!
so they say....
The game probably won't run smoothly for quite a while so everyone has time I believe.
Any news?
I have a Ryzen 7 5800x system with 16 gigs of RAM and an RTX 3060. How would that run on high settings and the fenix/pmdg/ifly/FBW aircraft along with a payware airport here and there?
i'm betting that your ram will be the bottleneck.
@ yep. It is. I only have troubles when I’m flying low to the ground when flying the fenix
I have a i7-4770K. Is that barely enough for MSFS2024 or do i need a better CPU? If I compare the two I dont see a big difference apart of the minimum CPU being just aroung 10% better
It is 4 cores and 8 threads, that is 33% less cores than min spec, plus the DDR3 RAM will be a lot slower than the DDR4 in the min spec CPU's.
The easy answer is upgrade. The real answer is no one knows until MSFS2024 is out. What gpu will you be using
Try unparking your CPU cores before upgrading. Maybe you can scrap a little perf by doing this.
What can we expect from Intel processors? I have an RTX4070 Super and a I7-14700F. Will it run FS2024 at a good preset (1440p)?
that should do just fine on ultra settings. as long as your intel cpu keeps working ;)
Looking forward to the install this week and seeing how it performs.
my problem isn’t my pc as much as it is my internet.
I will play it in QHD with no issue with my 7600X Oced and my 4070Super Oced with 32gb ram. Easy peasy.
CPU or gpu limited? Thinking about buying 4070 super 7700x or 7900x for 1440p, but maybe when it’s playable with lower grade parts I can save money

I think my Rtx 4060, 5800x3d and 32gbs for 1080p should be fine for msfs 2024 and i shouldn't need to upgrade especially with multithreading coming
What's the difference between AMD 7900 XTX upscaling and Nvidia RTX4080 Super DLSS?
I am planing to build new PC RTX 4080 I can maybe squse 60-70 fps If MSFS2024 will be using single thread then I will be wasting money on
the more expensive Graphic Card!!!🤔
wasting money on a 4080 is a given. Nvidea cards are simply to expensive. Radeon is a much better value for money atm.
I was going to get a whole new pc but i have a 3060, i5 9400f and 16gb ram and i could run the alpha absolutely fine on ultra settings at 1080p
And i thought im the only one using 9400f and wondering if i will get at least 5fps becaus of the weak 9400
ye, u dont need a monster to play on 1080p.
