I bought the 2020 premium deluxe specifically for the additional aircraft and handcrafted airports. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with the quality of the default aircraft and despite the improvements by Working Title, I never really have time to fly them all. Also, the handcrafted airports were no where near what I expected, and still ended up purchasing the 3rd party versions anyway when they became available. With PMDG, Felix and the CRJ, not to mention the iniBuillds and FBW, I don’t think I will have time to reach for the default aircraft, except for the Cessna occasionally to practice VFR flying. I flew the 787 exactly once. For that reason, I have also settled on the standard 2024 version.
Some mods like the horizon sim 787 require the 787-10 so that’s one thing to consider not just for airports
if the 787-10 was standard I would pick standard I mean I will wait to see what the quality is on the 787 if its bad then I will stick to my 777's
Premium Deluxe. Already done. To me, this covers additional aircraft that may be used later by devs like black square, to make improvements. So not having the premium deluxe keeps these out of reach.
Meh plenty of 3rd party stuff coming. When A2A brings their planes I won’t be touching any of those GA planes.
Having never bought a steel box movie or ever saved my box of my latest and greatest video card purchase and even laughed at the idea and concept, I ordered the limited edition version (steel box) but mainly added support to a company that took a dead sim and made it beyond words. Having had them all, and dumped thousands into each (except xp that I did buy a ton for and supported but don't think I broke a grand) I was more than happy to do it. Plus, in this case I will save the extras and later sell them since I made triple my money back when I sold the MSFS 2004 extras, haha. I was sad to see it came with a scaled Herpa because 20 years ago I sold my ridiculously large collection and scaled airport that I built.
It's weird that the physical editions don't come with discs this time, just a code to download the game.
We don’t even know what the updated Airports are 🤔
They should announce that soon
This is key to making this decision.
What’s the point of preordering.Just buy it on release or a couple of weeks after release to see what’s good and not good.
Yeah I don't see the point of software pre-orders unless it's a discounted price that's only available prior to the release date.
Basically you get a firefighting aircraft in 2020 by pre ordering
@@i_wanna_be_a_pilot Ah right I missed that. Probably of little incentive for most people.
@@brandyballoon yea
Biggest worry for me in the new updated amounts of internet speed needed. I’m currently capped at 30mbps which sucks and as this will be more a streaming game this could be an issue, so I’m going to wait and see what happens to others before buying.
Buy the standard version. You can always upgrade later, which almost no one does. But you can.
It costs more at the end of the day
@@LucaStabielGeaft in my exsperience you will not miss the planes and airports that the higher editions gives you. Much rather buy some third party stuff that I really like for the extra money. Now it is possible to rent planes as well. I will go for the standard.
@@LucaStabielGeaft had the same thought - but then i remember i did the same for 2020: I bought the standard version 2020 and then there was an easter offer for the premuim deluxe update. 50% or so off..... half a year later ... i guess we could see taht coming too for 24
Just heard, that switching the version type (Steam, Microsoft) will be a problem: the marketplace objects that you bought won’t be ported from one platform to the other. That’s important for some of you.
I bought the standard. STILL waiting for that free plane........ Like you I jumped the gun back in 2020, and I was happier with 3rd party than anything MSFS /Asobo brought to the table. And they really did not bring a lot until people complained about the 787 being poorly rendered. Only then they made the updates to make it tolerable. When I think of MSFS, I think of my first 3rd party purchase of my Areosoft CRJ which is still fun to fly; Fenix and PMDG. I-fly is grabbing my attention and so is PMDG which when they release their version of the Max8, I will not hesitate to buy it. These developers won my faith, I just wish that PDMG did not play so much on their forums. They seem to like to mess with people. Cheers
will you be able to buy the planes on market place instead of buying the deluxe
My biggest concern, as mentioned by a poster below, is the max internet speed I have available, which is 40mbps. I just checked, and my suburb isn't currently scheduled to get a fibre to the property upgrade, so I'm nervous about how 2024 will run, and will probably hang loose until there's some community feedback on how 40mbps goes. That aside, I think I'll go for the Standard edition for the same reasons as you where I mainly fly airliners, the A321 and A330 should be great, and the Premium Deluxe then doesn't really have any planes that make the approx AUD $80 extra worth it.
Standard for me, I like study level planes, and I have standard for 2020 and added many airports and I haven't had any problems.
I fly the Cirrus SR22 all the time, especially after the upgrade. That makes the Premium Deluxe more attractive to me.
Thank you for another post!!
Standard version for me. I fly GA and nothing but (for now). Maybe I'll upgrade later if my interests change.
I'm leaning towards the standard edition. If the premium deluxe version turns out to be really good after launch, I might upgrade. For now I'm holding of on spending the extra 60 euros.
Same. I was thinking of getting the premium deluxe but I dont know how good the game will ve at release. And I still have msfs2020.
I think it’s good, but I’m getting the standard because it’s cheap and I don’t really care about the supertanker. I like the airbus hrlicopter but I don’t fly helicopters that often so I don’t really mind. I wouldn’t bother with aviator or collector
Thanks, you helped me clarify which edition I want. In reality, I mostly fly add on aircraft like pmdg, a2a because I really like the really detailled implementation of systems. Going to be Deluxe for me. I would have liked aviator but in Canada, it is close to 300$ with sale taxe, which is a lot!!
The choice dilemma I could take further by adding a version that is way less cumbersome. What about a version that is dtrastically scaled down so all the current features such as ponts of interrest, challengers, avitars, planning, ATC, and a whole host of things the diehard flight simmer never uses so that the sim loads at blinding speed?... I'd actually play more to have less if that meant fast loading times. Greetings from Australia.
I’ve preordered the premium deluxe
same, couldnt resist lol
Confused. I've purchased all the historic planes that interest me, in MSFS 2020. Doesn't that mean I can just buy MSFS 20204 Standard version, and all of those MSFS 2020 purchases will pipe over? Seems, in regard to aircraft, getting the Aviator version is really only beneficial for people newly coming into the sim. Am I missing something?
Other than having the potential for custom 3rd party improvements that often utilize the aircraft in the premium deluxe, I tend to fly airliners (fenix, pmdg) and other GA aircraft like TBM 850, PC-12, Learjet 35 etc.
you can upgrade to any version,so i bought the deluxe version and will probably upgrade to the premium deluxe if there are any airports i want.i only really fly the Fenix a319/20/21,so might mess with a couple of the aircraft included.
I'm flying a c172 cockpit, so the basic is literally all I care about. Easy choice
I think the Devs said if you owned the 787 in FS2020, it gets ported. That's all I care about. It's gonna be standard addition for me.
Are u in standard? If u are can tell me to get a 787? Because I don’t want to pay a hundred dollars more to get premium deluxe.
@@Rishkuboivoi The default planes are rarely worth it considering the price you'd pay.
They are made for casual flyer and are not study-level.
The only time they are worth it is when mod developers release addons that remasters the default planes like the Horizon 787 mod for FS2020 or FlyByWire for A320neo.
So the decision will come down to you. You can either wait a few years until someone releases the 787 separately as a payware plane with it's own exterior and flight model or get a premium+ version of FS2020
@@odin3066 Yeah the default planes are good but 787 is more fun flying since it’s my fav plane but since I read your comment u got 787 in msfs2020 that means if u choose standard msfs2024 that means we still get the 787 because the devs said all of our msfs2020 planes get ported there is a sale on Xbox game pass for msfs premium deluxe so I think I’ll do ur desecion.
Standard Edition. I am not interested in default aircraft, and there are almost as many upgraded airports in the Standard Edition as there are in the Aviators Edition. I generally use payware airports, so the hand crafted airports are bonuses if they are good enough for my requirements.
interesting, I haven't been able to get any info on the handcrafted airports, which makes it hard to decide.
@@Hardrevver As far as I am aware, they are improved versions of the existing hand crafted airports in MSFS 2020.
I’m getting the aviator…I would say I’m a hardcore gamer simmer. I enjoy vatsim and study level planes but also wanna fly stuff like the c17 and try the carrier .. I mean it’s a lot but 2020 brought me joy for like 4 years.. for 100$ and whatever addons so they deserve it. Still 100 times less than what I spent on Star citizen 😂😂😂
I fly my Comanche 90% of the time, some addon helicopters, the Fenix A320, and the PMDG 737 so the choice is easy for me. It should be the standard version. This being said, I am waiting for the actual launch and some real gameplay reviews. Maybe, Christmas present.
I'd rather get the standard and then hand pick what 3rd party planes I want. Quality can greatly vary.
I mostly fly helicopters (even though I have a lot of military jets and all the good airliners getting dusty in the hangar lol) ... H145 (Yorkshire Air Ambulance liveries...love it!!)...H47-D Chinook, (Fantastic flight model... maybe the best of any aircraft I have experienced on 2020! ) and my new favourite the UH1-Huey (for its ridiculous flight model... you can do full loops rolls and spins 😂 or best of all ...a combination of all 3 in single maneuver 😮... crazy bird lol!!.... I sometimes draw crowds haha... I bet it looks like a 3D acro RC helicopter 😂 ... Makes my heart beat pretty fast when I'm in the zone with people watching lol!! (I don't think full size helicopters are supposed to be able to do that... but it feels and probably looks amazing so I can't complain 😌 lol)
So I am mainly after HPG H225! Damn that's a big helicopter!! It sure is a lot of extra money for one helicopter 🤷♂️🤦♂️ but ... I'm that kinda guy so.... sign me up haha!... I just reqlly hope the UH1 flight model doesn't change too much on the switch over to the new physics of 24 ... I still would like to be able to my stunts 😂😂😂
Lollll
I ain’t spending a penny unless they tell us what airports are ungraded
OT: the Aviator Edition is not a problem for me, the required bandwidth is. :(
Same here, I'm only use 50mbps, 100 mbps too expensive in my country. I don't think why not make like MFS 2020 250GB with all map download.
It seems that the exchange rate for the UK has been ignored? $69 to £69. Sorry if I'm wrong.??
I think it's mainly down to the uk price including 20% VAT
That is a standard rip off practise for us Brits. The new PS5 pro is priced at $700 in the US and £700 in the UK. $700 converts to only £523 at current exchange rates. So, yes, us Brits always get ripped off. I will be playing on Xbox Game Pass for Windows standard version.
Might go the Game Pass route. You have the option now to buy aircraft from other versions apparently.
@@colinslater2947 I think I may £10 a month for it. Big catalogue of good games on it.
Yeah same. i wil buy the standard edition, mostly i fly FBW A320 and PMDG 737 on daily basis. So others are useless
Big one for me is having loads of AI traffic. The Heathrow shots in this video show how unrealistic airports are with no AI. What is the story with 2024 with genuine AI liveries and aircraft?
I'm also leaning towards the standard version because I already have the premium 2020 version. This means my add-ons will be carried over. The aircraft from the 2024 deluxe and premium versions for some reason just don't interest me that much.
Good ongoing debate! I am hard core by your definition. I buy study airports and aircraft. Similar to you, I have a limited number of aircraft. I think I will sit on the fence (which is tricky!!!) and wait for a while after release to decide which version. Also, have MSFS not stated that scenery for MSFS2020 will be compatible with MSFS24? And also, FSLabs, Quality Wings and Flight1 Max I suspect are waiting in the wings for MSFS24. Decisions, decisions.
Why should I preorder? Is there a special discount now? Ok, I know, you get an extra plane now, but I’m not interested in it. So for me it’s at least waiting for the airport info.
Is there an A-380 in this I hope so or that the Flybywire people finish theirs soon, do you know what the story is? Thank you great video as usual!
A330 is great now add the 350!
And A220
Gotta have my SAAB😆
What's your pc?
See description.
If i have xbox game pass and don't purchase any version, will i be able to play the basic version of msfs2024?
Yes
Yes, standard version will be on Game Pass. That's how I will be playing.
This is out of topic, but i would love to know what rudder pedals you use. Thanks!!
Can someone give me a recommendation, I can get the premium deluxe or aviator version I will just have to work hard to save up before release, but the only planes from aviator would be 707 an225 and atr
Okay, now Im really undecided!! But there is an option to upgrade correct?
Yes, there is.
im flying the a320 fly by pixel
Can you upgrade after buying the standard edition, or do you have to pay the full price of the better ones even if you've already purchased standard? If you can upgrade, what have you got to lose by trying standard first?
I think it’s poor that the Aviator edition is on pre order and there was no list or information on which 30 payware aircraft are added.
The as you say the airport info seems hard to find and not listed in the sale info.
So atm I won’t be getting on launch until more info and testing is done as way too many unknowns for me.
I’ve had lots of abuse showing caution about unknowns about any edition above standard and people yelling “take my money I’m getting Aviator or already ordered it.”
And again there no information or likelihood of being able to upgrade later, so it seems fishy to me the prices , and all unknown’s of the other editions.
Im going to wait until the hype dissipates and I can get settled views from streamers who are not fan boys of Asobo and MS. I'm happy with 2020 and equally happy to wait for as long as it takes. I think also that third party developers who use assets that are not available to all versions should make it clear in the notes that they have done this but I won't hold my breath. I guess if it's not made clear then the grounds for a refund are very real in the event it isn't fit for purpose.
So, maybe I am slow, but which planes comes with the Aviator pack?
In in a bit of a pickle as well. Im on a budget, so i dont have the cash for all the payare adions, but i fly alot on vatsim alot. Any advice
I'm going to sit on the fence until we have info about the additional airports...
Wonder if the old comunity plane will work in the new sim
Too many versions of this simulator, they should only have 2 versions.
None . Maybe in another 3 years when microsoft sort it all out. 2020 as only just got started to be stable.
Im currently on Xplane 12 and when I first heard its releasing this november I considered swapping sims. Now with the Flightfactor 777v2 released im not changing my sim lmao
Even the standard feels too expensive
You gotta be joking! This is the most advanced flight simulator in the history of home flight simulation. Period.
@@stevengunard8135 Maybe I'll feel different when I actually get my hands on it, but right now it mostly seems like an upgrade to the existing sim
@a2rhombus2 the price is very reasonable. $70 is the new standard for games now.
Thinking about ordering it later on in the year, I think msfs is good for me rn. By the way, any ideas on if my payware Addons can get transferred over?
Think I read that they should be transferable yes.
I'd like to know that too
@@casaamaril yeah or all money would go to waste.
I say buy the standard and get the rest on simplaza once it updates for msfs2024 as well
Biggest worry for me in the new updated amounts of internet speed needed. I’m currently capped at 30mbps which sucks and as this will be more a streaming game this could be an issue, so I’m going to wait and see what happens to others before buying.
I bought the limited collectors editions lol with all the goodies and an 225 model
Good for you 🙂 hope you enjoy!
I don't see the ATR in any of the versions. That's worrying for me. I like the ATR.
I have been flying a free version of the ATR 72-600 in MSFS 2020. I found it a really fun plane to fly and get good performance in the sim with it. MSFS 2020 add on planes are supposedly going to be compatible in FS 2024. So, I assume it will work.
where is the ATR 42/72?
None for now. See how well it runs. You can have a monster PC but it's totally useless if your connection is slow which will be the sad fact for thousands of punters.
I bought the aviators edition for €220 but went back on my decision and decided to request a refund. Mainly because they gave the information that if you had bought the premium deluxe MSFS2020 edition then you would also get those planes in the new 2024 sim. But now I’m left wondering if we will get the new versions of these aircraft like the 787 or just again the old version from 2020 which aren’t improved.. I would think not but idk.
And they also said we could always upgrade later for the extra amount so I just bought the standard edition and put the rest of the money to a Honeycomb Bravo since I was still using a saitek throttle quadrant with my Honeycomb alpha.
It's unclear though if they're the same planes. You'll get say the 787 from 2020, but it's not clear if it's the same 787 that's in the 2024 premium delux. That might be a new version utilizing some of the new 2024 features.
The included airports will be the same as the MSFS2020 upgraded airports, which includes the World update upgraded airports. In the case of 2024 they have been further upgraded to a higher quality (by Gaya Simulations). This info was confirmed on the most recent Developer stream.
I'm a real world heli pilot, so i neeeed the Chinook and H225, although I hope they work a lot better than the Bell 407 does in 2020
I would consider myself somewhere in the middle of the road ... not casual and not hardcore sim. I really gravitate toward the GA planes and really enjoy the Cirrus SR22 and steam gauge 172 so I am probably going to get the Premium Deluxe edition. The new "Deluxe" GA planes are interesting to me as well. When 2020 came out, I bought the standard edition and eventually upgraded to the Deluxe Premium edition later. The upgrade cost difference was twice as much as it would have if I would have just bought that version originally - not making the same mistake again.
I'm going Standard Edition and hopefully SAAB 340 will be available as a separate purchase :) Good, someone else thoughts like me ! I'd rather rely on 3rd party aircarfts, just like you. Wish there was an Zero Edition, with NO new aircrafts...for let's say $40US...and hey, you can always update later, right ?
Always been curious about the 340 as it has 4 engines when everything around it is 2
Dont think you can do that sir
I bought the steam premium deluxe 2020, why is there no discount on for example 2024 aviators? since i own quite a few planes more than someone not owning any 2020 edition
It is the Standard version for me, with the A350 and the A380 (hopefully) releasing soon I don't need much more planes than that, I don't fly GA so idc about them too.
To me the Deluxe version probably makes most sense as a non-hardcore sim guy. Has some additional Cessnas that I would really want to have plus few airports. Not sure premium deluxe makes enough sense though. We’ll see.
Standard FTW! If... reviews of the release version warrant making the plunge into 2024.
100% made me decide, thank you. Premium deluxe it is! I'd rather spend the extra on the planes I want by 3rd parties with more realism.
I like the sound of being called a Digital Tourist lol. I will be playing on Xbox Game Pass for Windows, so it will be playing the standard edition. I might expand later when the price drops.
I’m still in twenty seven minds as to which one to get. More important to me is the handcrafted airports, as I rarely fly anything other than PMDG aircraft.
80 Euros for the base game!!! They went mad!!! no regional pricing either! this is utter insanity! might as well start paying for PPL in the real world!
I believe MS said you will be able to buy the PD & deluxe planes separately as addons. But not how much they will cost. A possible option, if you only want one or two.
I'm tending to the standard Edition, 'cause I normally do add-on aircraft.
But I wonder about the new career mode. Maybe it's good fun. And if it is, will the number of available jobs depend on the amount of included aircraft?
Will the standard edition have less variety in career or regarding the challenges?
So, I think I'll wait and see.
Amazon has the steel box deluxe premium for $129.99, though I didn’t see any mention of the Herpa or flight bag. Odd seeing this since it would mean there are other options not mentioned elsewhere.
Now one thing im wondet is, if say you bought the aviators edition. Do you get those planes instantly in 2020 as well or just only for 2024
This is a really good video. Thank you. I actually ended up buying 20. The 20/20 version mistakenly thinking that it had search and rescue stuff in it. Really? That's all I want to do is helicopter search and rescue but it doesn't seem clear from anything wet edition that's going to be in. I guess for me I'm going to just wait until it comes out. Maybe on the sale and dive in then, but if it's going to be like it was this time where you have to then go off and buy a helicopter and an action pack to get the gay player one I might just skip it entirely.
They just confirmed on developer stream that you can buy deluxe planes separately if you own the standard edition. That makes the decision so much easier. Going for standard.
Premium Deluxe is a must for me, there is two must have helicopters!
I got Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 when it came out... Do I have to buy the new 2024 one now too? Or will the 2020 one get an update for free or something?
Have u been living under a rock? You need to buy it.
I brought the premium delux edition, more than the additional planes, im more interested by the additional airports.
I really wanna try that dreamlifter and the C-17. Also excited by the A321 neo :D although thats in the standard edition.
Do you think it's good on the xbox series x?
I have preordered the standard edition, and after seeing this, I think I made the right decision.
Can we move. Jets from 20 to 24 please
I'm getting the premium deluxe.
Looks like I'll be going Standard version after being stung an extra £20 (back then) for the Deluxe Superdooper Premium edition. As others have said, I've not flown the default B787 much, just a couple of occasions on long-haul flights. But so long as the world is the same in Standard, I'll opt for that. I doubt the 737-Max-8 will be study level, but iFly are on the verge of releasing theirs which I'm guessing will be exactly 737 times better than a default aircraft .Also I never get why GBP is exactly the same as USD. Great vid. Have a sub.
Standard is the obvious choice. Premium Deluxe/Deluxe includes a total of 3 aircraft I'd be mildly interested in, so it's not really worth the additional $60 cost to me. All of the new aircraft I actually want are in the Standard version, thankfully.
I was dead on, on buying te Aviator Version but you really have me in a flat spin now. And the reason you have an effect on me is your reasoning. I think I'll settle for the Standard Edition. Problem however is that I dont always have the cash flow to buy new stuff as they available. I have the money now to get the Aviator Edition. Eish 😊😅😊😅
As i only fly Fenix and PMDG in 2020 im not interested in more planes..What i am interested in is the airports..particularly Australian airports as i am Australian and mostly fly here. So will wait to see what airports are added and go from there but at this stage probably std version.
All I know that for Microsoft flight simulator 2020 that works with the premium deluxe that does not work with the basic one is a different 787 variant that requires you to own the 787 from the premium deluxe version to work, but I have not seen any other issues than that.
I will buy the one without stutters
Is the correct answer!
What is the difference between the C172 in the standard edition, and the C172 in the Deluxe Edition? I'm thinking like you. I may only fly a few of the aircraft that even comes with the standard edition.
If it's like MSFS 2020, the Standard Edition has the Cessna 172 with the G1000 while the Deluxe has the Cessna 172 with steam gauges.
I will get the Premium Deluxe because I really missed the 787 in the last Sim
no ATR?
Standard version for me😊
