      16:10 - 16:29 - I can answer Jeremy's question here, the 2015 middle-aged Marty in Bttf 2 only existed from the way the time-line was laid out at that particular point. Marty at that point had returned from his experience in 1955 but had not yet learned the consequences of the drag race with Needles. While in 2015, Jennifer had just heard the story for the first time and Marty knew nothing of it yet.. So without Marty at that juncture knowing the outcome of the drag race with Needles and no Jennifer warning him about it, he raced Needles, smashed into the Rolls Royse, got sued and lost, permanently crippled his hand so he couldn't make a career with his guitar music, and ended up at a dead-end career getting bullied by co-worker Needles while knowing that Marty gives in easily to what Needles wants just like he did in the drag race in 1985, and then Marty gave in to him again in 2015 when pushing him to break company rules, thus getting him fired and disrupting his life even further. But now after the events of Bttf 3, Jennifer and Marty know better, he refuses to race Needles, and the unfortunate chain of events that followed no longer happen, and the turmoiled middle-aged 2015 Marty we saw will no longer exist. Now that Marty's decisions have changed, we leave Bttf 3 no longer knowing where Marty will be in 2015. It's basically up to us to figure out for ourselves, he could've now become a successful musician, or his life could've fallen into ruins in some other way, we'll never know.

      Paradox: After old Biff returned to 1955 Marty and Doc cannot travel to the 1985 that Biff made: They no longer exist. Doc goes to an asylum and the DeLorean time machine is never created. I'm always with you on your sins, but as a genealogist, I have to say that when it comes to tombstones and families being connected in the same towns it's not that uncommon. I can tell you that tombstones can be VERY descriptive, especially in the late 1880s - 1910s. As for the Tannens knowing the McFlys through generations and decades, I wouldn't completely dismiss it. I live in a town in Southern California (like Hill Valley was) that my family was living in from the 1880s to current, 5 generations, and our families intertwined with a lot of other families that are still connected to this day. May seem far-fetched, but not as much as you think.

    8:05 In the first movie, the big plot point was the time machine aspect, but otherwise, it was just an ordinary Delorean that ran on ordinary gasoline. The car could get to the required speed, but the tricky part was simultaneously getting the required power for the Flux Capacitor. If the car ran on plutonium instead of gas, then when the plutonium was used up in the jump to the past, the car wouldn't be able to drive at all. The end of the first movie and the second movie added Mr. Fusion for the flying component and a plutonium replacement for the time travel. In the third movie, there are not any issues with the time travel component on the DeLorean Marty uses to get to the past, but the tricky part is getting the required speed, and that's where gasoline, which wasn't an issue in the previous movies, comes into play.

      But by the time Marty trains back to 1985, Doc had already hidden the BTTF2 Time machine in the mine. So back in 1885, Doc still had a mostly-built Delorean. With the electronics from the hoverboard, he could probably fix the time device enough to work, and repeat the train stunt to bring it to the future at 88mph. Eventually, of course, he'd have to go back and re-bury the Time Machine to avoid a paradox. But Doc would know that. Of course, that also raises the question of why he didn't put the hoverboard in the car when he buried it for Doc-1955 to find. Maybe he did. Because not only does it contain most vital organs, but it is the most common target. Even trained military personnel with rifles are taught to shoot at center mass to increase the chance of a hit. A pistol, with it's shortened range, being fired from the hip (which lowers precision), would take immense skill to hit the head from that distance when trying to outdraw someone else. While it wouldn't be impossible, the smart shot is for the chest to guarantee a kill or to at least heavily wound so you can finish them off.

You could also call Robert Esnault-Pelterie, Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, and Hermann Oberth fathers of modern rocketry. Von Braun was inspired by and built upon the work of all of them. Von Braun later said of Goddard: "His rockets ... may have been rather crude by present-day standards, but they blazed the trail and incorporated many features used in our most modern rockets and space vehicles". He once recalled that "Goddard's experiments in liquid fuel saved us years of work, and enabled us to perfect the V-2 years before it would have been possible."

  • @chatanugadotorg
    @chatanugadotorg 4 года назад +18

    Missed three sins:
    1. Clara pulls an "emergency cord" to stop the train, which wouldn't have existed on that train.
    2. When the locomotive is uncoupled, the train has knuckle couplers, which wouldn't have been in use at the time.
    3. The train hits the Delorean without stopping. As soon as the crew saw the car on the tracks, they would have thrown the train's brakes into emergency braking. They wouldn't have stopped in time, but they wouldn't have just kept going.

    The "Made In Japan" remark isn't necessarily racist. It's unlikely that the USA in the 50s had a plethora of Japanese imports on the market, especially since 1955 was only a decade after World War 2 and memories of it (especially Axis hostilities) still fresh in the American mind. Then there's the change of Doc's surname around the time of World War 1. Anti-German fervor was a thing around that time thus his family felt it necessary to do away with Von Braun so they wouldn't become targets of violence.
