- With the new Tom Cruise Mummy movie hitting theaters, and having sinned 1999's The Mummy Tuesday... we went back to the Mummy well and sinned the sequel: The Mummy Returns. It's nowhere near as likeable as the first one, FYI.
May is Mental Health Month, and it's a subject that means a lot to us here at CinemaSins. Yes, it's June now technically, but we are still honoring Mental Health Month for a bit longer.
In fact, we’re partnering with Mental Health America (MHA) to not only to raise awareness of mental health issues - but also to raise a little money, too. We’ve got a brand-new Cinema Sins t-shirt in the shop, and all of the profits from the sale of the shirt will be donated to our friends at MHA.

So we're just gonna forget that Tomb of the Dragon Emperor exists, right?
We all want to forget that.
Benjamin Abramowitz I'm sorry. What exists? When I read your comment all I see is repressed memories
Dumb guy64 Well, that movie does have a scene where yetis play football.
Oh how I wish I could.
Benjamin Abramowitz it's next
I'd say the real sin is not Imhotep screaming 'Niy", but the way he's throwing himself into the scene this dramatically XD
Kitty Katze Lol, yeah)) It was so embarassing))) (sorry for my english)
Niy.
*ding*
It's definitely a meme-worthy shot.
...If memes were a thing in the early 2000s.
Back in the early 2000s we had to walk 5 miles in the snow, UP HILL for memes!
my boyfriend and i laughed for close to an hour at that and referenced it for weeks
Anyone else feel really bad for Imohotep when Anck-su-namun just abandons him at the end?
Everything he did was for her and she just runs off and leaves him to die. I think she's the true villain of the movie.
shadowspider9 it was so cold...
Well he lost his powers so she doesn’t need his ass no more lol
shadowspider9 YES!
So happy to find someone else who thinks the same!
Actually makes you feel for him. Sure, they killed the Pharoah, but he didn't ask to be under an impossible curse, didn't ask to be resurrected either time, and he basically restored her. Twisted love, but at least he had it in him to follow through.
shadowspider9 Yes what a bitch
You missed the part about Jonathan asking Ardeth why the Medjai didn't protect the bracelet properly. Saying "Isn't that your job?" That was a good opportunity to say "Jonathan would be great at CinemaSins."
I was totally expecting that too!
"Everything Wrong With The Mummy 3", it was made. Done.
^^^ yeah. Whereas the first two can get away with just being guilty pleasures for a lot of ppl the third one just straight up sucked
Hey, it made back triple its budget at the Box Office.
Which is crazy, I've never even heard of it... and with the Scorpion King, that's FOUR fucking films in this franchise, it blows my mind it was popular enough to have more films than most franchises, considering the shoddy quality of the films.
I guess people ate that shit right up in the 90s/early00s. No wonder they're making a reboot.
"This movie exists." *Ding*
2nd sin: No Rachel Wheitz. (I don't know how to write her last name) *Ding*
margareth michelina Ikr? Why make it if she can't be in it? I will never get over that.
16:42 has got to be my favourite most ridiculous scene. Like, it's the Scorpion King and Rick just hanging out for a few seconds before the mummy just runs in off screen, gets in the most dramatic pose possible then just goes "Nooooooooo!"
He's a drama queen through and through.
Actually... he goes "Niy!"
😂😂 that was some high school drama-level acting
RezidentSeagull OMG that scene made me spit out coke, when I was watching it in the cinema. I still want to laugh now.
im surprised that that wasn't a sin itself
I'm disappointed there's no sin removal for Imhotep's surprisingly touching death.
tbh me too. great acting from vosloo there too.
Thanos6 I know! His acting was great!! I actually felt really sad for him.
Yeah. As much as I don't like to admit it, I actually felt really bad for him.
Ust
It was heartbreaking when he called out to Anck su namun with tears in his eyes reaching out to her and then seeing her flee
The one thing I loved about this movie was when Rick and Ardeth are casually chatting guns as they're loading up from the trunk of the car for the shootout "You want the shotgun?" "No, I prefer the Thompson". Two badasses picking out the tools of their trade like you pick out your shirt for the day. lol.
Same ❤️
Always pick the Tommy😎
Tommy Lee Jones: "I like this gun" ( *pats gun like an old friend* )
That fucking "NIY!" scene imoteph does always kills me. It's something that fits more in a telemundo episode
Lmao
I was thinking it would fit in with a Simpsons episode.
It’s like an opera
"It's never a good sign when your 8 year old son grabs a picture of an older man you've never met and says 'hey! I know him!' " hahahahah! 😂😂😂
Mrs Foodfairy 😆😆😆😆😆
English! How the fuck does Imhotep speak English?!?! Why isn’t that brought up?!?!
@@andrewpycke3255 He need english to negotiate with americans so that they don't bring any freedom when he start to rule. You know what Americans do their best 😂😂😂
@@andrewpycke3255 oh I forgot to mention democracy 😉
I read your comment as soon as he said it and it was surreal as shit
Aiight, I normally don’t want to be “that guy” because I know what to expect when I come to this channel, but there’s actually a cool story here. If you remember, the dude from whom Imhotep stole his eyes actually had super bad eyesight (remember the scene where he’s frantically feeling around on the ground to try and find his glasses). The actual canonical explanation for why Imhotep thought that Evey was Anaksunamun is that the eyes he stole could barely see clearly, and so he couldn’t tell that she wasn’t the right person.
Oh wow that makes so much sense!
His name was Mr Burns "My eyes...he TOOK my eyes!!!"
Yep, just.......yep
thank you for being "that guy", I delight in learning little movie details like that
Morgan M no problem!!! Glad you found it interesting!!!
16:42 can we just agree how hilarious it was when Imhotep ran up and screamed 'niy!' and how the Scorpion King just looked at him like, "dafuq you making that face for?"
I always laughed at that scene. :P LMAO. It was such a WTF are you doing. Lol.
How do they know that "niy" is how the Egyptians say "no"?
Yes we can agree and if this movie's language was german then Imhotep would run up and scream 'NIEN!'
hahahahahaha yes we can
😹
Despite the drop in quality of the second and third movies in this trilogy, Tom Cruise will never be able to outdo Brendan Fraser. He had such good charisma in these movies.
Brendan Fraser just made these movies a ton of fun to watch.
Jace Carsonne him and rachel weisz cant be replaced.
Yeah they are just so homely. I love the whole "i hate all this bullshit" attitude they both have.
Guys Tom's movie is not the reboot for these movies, it's from a book and older film. Plus these movies were also a reboot from older ones.
Jace Carsonne stom cruise can't outdo anyone!
"No harm ever came from opening a chest."
Literally the next line is:
"Yeah, well no harm ever came from reading a book. Remember how that one went?"
Rick would be awesome at CinemaSins. *Ding*
I was in the theater yelling, "Did she get amnesia?! Remember the last movie? Four guys dead because they opened a chest!"
So would Johnathon "I don't mean to point fingers but isn't it your job to make sure that DOESN'T happen?"
One of my favorite lines
im the 300th like
There's something charming about how Imhotep says "Niy" near the end there. Not what he says, just the dramatic flourish with which he says it. It's like a stage play.
Arnold Vosloos career started on stage I think.
It’s honestly insulting like I’ve seen many plays and did act in one myself but we didn’t go over the top like that
@@WhiteRose2002 You never got a chance to overact, just for fun? NIIIIIIY!
Ah yes. Dramatic "No!!" cliche
@@WhiteRose2002 Always depends in the script and / or the director. And sometimes it's just unplanned but deemed so funny by everybody that it's left in.
I absolutely LOVE when Rick stabs the Scorpion King and five seconds later Imhotep runs dramatically on camera like he missed his cue
"The Mummy Returns in 18 minutes or less"
Welp, guess we'll wait for him.
Bird This is a good joke.
I have been waiting over five years!
It's been six years. Has the mummy returned yet?
At 5:36 how did you NOT go "Jonathan would have been excellent at CinemaSins" ?!?!
Glad I'm not the only one who thought that.
Andrew Quan I was literally waiting for him to say that
That's exactly what I thought the sin was going to be.
Ok, when she says, “no harm ever came from opening a chest,” the very next line is Rick mocking her saying, “no harm ever came from reading a book,” directly referencing the 1st movie, so this one is very tongue in cheek and doesn’t deserve a sin. In fact you skipping over the follow up makes you sinning it a sin.
No harm come ever from reading a book...All Evil Dead fans laughing
As goofy as these movies are, they are still 100x better than that Tom Cruise heresy.
100% agree
Lol we do not speak of that travesty.
I dare not even watch that garbage - it would just ruin my memory of this half-decent movie :p
Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is worse than the Tom Cruise Mummy movie though.
I have not watched the Tom Cruise one, but I generally liked the Dragon Emperor. Certainly not fit for the mummy series, and it was full of bullshit, but it was enjoyable at least :p
Like I said, I think the Tom Cruise one sucks simply because it will ruin my memory of the good mummy movies
5:36 I was actually expecting a "Jonathan would be amazing at CinemaSins"
anyone else partially watch these because it's like watching an abridged version of the movie being sinned?
Sometimes, it's better than watching the actual movie, especially if that movie sucks.
It's the exact same reason I'll watch someone speedrun an old video game rather than trying to play it again.
hell yeah
+jbvader721 By that logic, this channel makes almost every movie look like it's bad.
Not necessarily. Just not as good as you remember them. They do take the time to take Sins off for something that was good in a movie.
one sin off for having an action movie based in 1933 with a "take over the world" plot and NOT have it be nazis
Good point, it's like they were giving the Nazis a break for once
You missed: Child asks: 'Are we there yet?' -cliché
Let's be honest...that CGI recreation of The Rock as the Scorpion King was both hiliarous and horrifying. Horr-liarous? Hiliar-fying?
hill-ifying?
I feel like that's a good way to describe the movie your talking about.
Me: Hey, have you ever seen The Mummy Returns?
Friend: No
Me: The one with The Rock as the worst CGI scorpion ever?
Friend: Oh yeah, I love that movie.
My sister: And then we saw a rock!
But it wasn't a rock,
It was a Rock Lobster!
That joke made it all the more hilarious.
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid
Antoine Pel. Same here
Antoine Pel. Same
Same here. But even back then I found the CGI used on the Scorpion Kings head, pretty bad ^^
Same. I watched it so many times that I can still remember many details. Although the CGI in my memories are much better.
Antoine Pel. That's sad 😂
i love how rick stabs the king and for like 10 seconds they're both motionless then the mummy runs up and makes a super dramatic pose and is like "NOOOOOO"
"KNNEEEEEEE!"
"NNIIIIIIIIYYYYYY-"
Cinemasins: *"These guys attended the storm trooper school for shooting at things and graduated with honors"*
😂😂 you crack me up Cinemasins
You know the guy who played Lock-Nah was also Killer Croc in "Suicide Squad"? Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje really needs to start finding better work.
He also played Mr. Eko in Lost, didn't he?
Haven't you ever seen him in "OZ"? ...and I do mean ALLLLL of him
jbvader721 he's was also in Thor the dark wild as a dark elf/nurse.
javierreyes405 *Kurse, aka Malekith's second in command. If none of you remember who the hell we're talking about, then it's further proof that he needs to find better movies.
Meh. He's beautiful.
Impossibly-strong pillar or incredibly-weak-ass wall? Discuss. 😂
Jupiter on Android A bit of both.
i'd argue weak pillar weaker wall and strong as fuck ceiling that didn't require the pillar to stay standing or you know pointless pillar put in for shits and giggles
Well the pillar was useless and it wasn't needed to hold up the roof to it must of been quite weak so I say extremely weak wall
Sins aside, this movie and the first one are still one of the best Mummy movies ever made.
Compare that to the China one or the new one...
Evie on first date with Rick "You should probably meet our one year old son."
The movie was dumb but boy did I love watching it when I was young.
Whitedragonking Ocola it's still kinda fun to watch as an adult.
This movie was the shiz along with the 1st mummy film from 1999.
Me too, man. Me too......
It totally is dumb, but it is dumb fun. Now movies are just dumb, without the fun. I read the novelization as a kid, it was actually really good.
The movie was dumb, but boy do I still love watching it.
"I don't mean to point fingers but isn't it ur job to make sure that doesn't happen"
he would b good at cinemasins
CGI scorpion Dwayne was the biggest sin of this movie.
Sin 32: It was explained in the movie that Evy was the keeper of the bracelet in her past life, Rick was a Medjai who's supposed to protect Evy, and their son Alex is the one who guides them to Ahm Shere, they're the 3 sides of a pyramid. That's why the box automatically opened when Alex approached it, he is the guide.
Sin 38: it was also explained in the movie that the 2nd movie took place in the year of Scorpion which was prophesized to be the year the world would end. And Evy started to have those dreams at the beginning of the Scorpion year.
Yeah I'm a nerd I know, but you've also got yourself 2 sins Cinemasins.
The box didn't open. The bracelet opened inside the box. We see at the beginning of the movie when Evie and Rick find the bracelet that it's closed. When Alex uses the key to open the box though, the bracelet is open inside, open so that it can close around his wrist.
Damn, i miss Brendan Fraser...
You can (kinda) catch him in Doom Patrol now. lol It's his voice but you don't see his face except in flashbacks.
What happened to him is sad tho, dude went in depression and now he’s a fat dude and you’d never thought of that cuz he was muscular in his young ages and the mummy
@@Berserk_96 Because Rachel Weisz isnt my wife... makes me really depressed too.
Daniel nah
Wesker JHG damn what happened to him? I see you said depression but
Some random kid actually gets credited before The Rock...that's how far back 2001 was :)
Lol that's fucking hilarious.
Most of the times the credits are made by order of importance of the character and the kid's character was more important than The Rock's.
this.... this is a mixed bag for me. on the one hand, the whole magi vs anubis warriors thing really fueled my imagination for a long time. on the other... that CGI, man..
ICarl Dimayuga
Agreed. The problem is more execution than story. Also, don't you love how the Scorpion King kinda fails as a prequel? If they wanted to show how he became that, ending the movie on a "everyone is happy" note wasn't the way to go.
to this day I cannot figure out how "happy ending Scorpion King" (still human) turned into "super evil scorpion-human hybrid." Was there a sequel or two that I missed that explained "BTW he went from good times banging Kelly Hu to a total monster?"
* Medjai
On the old VHS, it wasn't quite so clear how bad it was. So I was fine with it. The solultion was to think of them as magical things, and therefore they were partially made up of some unknown substance. Couple that substance idea with VHS quality and you really had something! Worked wonders for my mind when I was a kid.
can we also add a sin for the fact that when Evie dies, her brother doesn't even seem sad about it like he's completely chill and trying to comfort the kid more than himself
Sam :3 Jonathan was probably in shock
I always thought the same thing too. But I think he was calm because he was trying to be there for Rick and Alex, he wanted to put his nephew's feelings first.
I can't place this accent... oh I know.. SESAME STREET!😅😭😂😂😂😂 I love cinemasins
Estizza Babawande lol I laughed instantly when I heard that
"This group of diggers waited around this bubbling spot of land like a stripper was gonna pop out!" Killed me. 😂💀😂

Serious Sam
Anubis went for the "Quantity over Quality" rule when he was thinking of building a supernatural army.
Like China's products
I wish you'd have taken a sin off for the scene where the henchman stabs the knife between the kids fingers and when the kid is surprised at his amazing aim, he says "I missed!". So funny every time!
You missed another sin, at 9:05 in this video "It is a good thing Imhotep has apparently learned to speak perfect English to explain to Alex the curse of the bracelet, even though he has only been revived for a matter of days, one sin added."
He was speaking Egyptian something Alex knows how to speak. Thats why when you first see him speaking hes speaking in egyptian and it pans out to him speaking english. its because its "understood" by alex and so we the audience could understand.
Wow, I never realized that! And he doesn't seem to speak English again for the rest of the film either.
Explained in the movie for that one scene: the bracelet is translating for Alex.
some of these sins actually have a reason behind them if he actually watched the movie and paid attention but i know this is for comedy sake
slifer7777 Oh, that makes sense. Nevermind then
"It's never a good sign when your 8 year old son grabs a picture of an older man you've never met and says "Hey I know him"! "
Hahahaha
CORALINE PARMENTIER, pianiste lol!!
CORALINE PARMENTIER, pianiste But... Rick says Alex spends more time in the museum then he does at home, so since the old man is the curator it's kinda obvious he knows him. SIN BUSTED
CORALINE PARMENTIER, pianiste I wish there was a sin counter for every douche that makes a comment quoting the video they're watching. we know what your watching..... we're watching to too!
Ben Walsh It's only pointing out what someone found funniest in a video. It's not like she's restating everything. Is it really that bad?
haha! That was the best
He complained about Evy only now getting visions when it states in the movie that she started getting dreams a few weeks back, right when the Egyptian new year (the year of the scorpion) began. And bc her past life was the bracelet's protector. There was a lot of dumb things in this film (I love it all the same) but that one was at least explained.
I love the way Imhotep runs into frame to dramatically scream “Niiiiiiiiiiiiiigh!”
13:00 "Movie completely ignores how the sunrise works..." Thank you! This bothered the crap out of me.
Mark Chapman same, that scene is so fucking ridiculous
That CGI in the end looks like a PS2 game.
Well considering the movie came out when the PS2 was the latest console. That's not surprising.
this movie was made in 2000 you dumb fuck, it looks fine.
Yeah but The Lord of the Rings came out the same year too.
The1Andrew No it does not. It was ridiculed when it came out. I know, I remember this film releasing.
You do know that the movie "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within" came out at basically the same timeframe right? Compare the two levels of CGI and tell me again how this is "fine". The first time i saw the movie even then i commented how bad the CGI was for the scorpion king himself.
To be fair, in the first movie Imhotep stole his new eyes from a guy who is legally blind without his glasses. So when he first saw Evie, not only were they in a dark tomb, but he was partially blind.
Don't at me, I just really love this movie and if we're being honest it's still better than the 2017 thing.
8:33 "vanrubuhl" I was 7 the first time I saw this movie. 13 years later & that word with that accent still cracks me up
At the end when everything is being sucked into the pyramid, did anyone else just watch *that* one palm tree being sucked in?
Yep, its there. They want you to follow that single palmtree with ur eyes.
I'd remove three sins for three specific moments in the movie. 1) When Rick says, "You, big trouble; you, lighten up; you, get in the car," because it's very funny. 2) The part where Lak-Nah tries to stab Alex's hand and he's complimenting his aim beore Lak-Nah says, "What are you talking about? I missed." That line was golden, and Alex's face was priceless. 3) When Alex needed to figure out the last symbol, he did the exact same motion Johnathan did in the last movie, which was both funny and a good callback to the last movie.
Only 3 things are great about this movie:
- Rachel Weisz
- Brendan Fraser
- Alan Silvestri
why did Imhotep do the run-then-kneel thing just to shout "Niy!"?
Because he lost the army!
@@nancyomalley6441 Or bad direction

At least they didn't keep trying to milk Epygt past the point of plausibility.
They moved on to ancient China
Yeah, but ancient China is pretty cool.
Thebes
the mummy thinks eve is his girlfriend because in the first movie he stole the eyes of the guy with glasses... so, he also had problems with his vision is just that a scene was cut off that kind of explained that. Your welcome.
plus 5 sins for saying your welcome.
he never thought of Eve as his girlfriend, he wanted to use her to resurrect Anck-su-namun, the eyes of the american scholar have nothing to do with it.
David James +10 sins for *you're
Well it's obviously "our" welcome and not his.
If the scene was cut, it still deserves to be sinned. Producing and then cutting explanation to plot points does not equate to having it explained.
The reason Imhotep is immortal when he reawakens is because the curse placed on him in the first movie is still in effect,it stated that if he was ever awoken he'd have all the powers he had and be immortal, his powers were stripped at the end of the film but and because he was resurrected again the curse was reset along with his powers
One thing: Alex probably wasnt spending his Time in muzeum with Rick, but with Evelyn (she was diplomatic one, So she was probably the one who was selling treasures found in egypt to the British Museum) So Rick could've never meet him or meet him once-twice.
Rofl, that Mortal Kombat part was fucking perfect!
If someone redubbed the whole series with Mortal Kombat music I would be fight dancing quicker than Robin Shou
Jo Biggle I looked over at the screen to hear and see that bit. and was omg and started laughing so hard
I lost it at "craaaaaab people...craaaaaab people"
would have been even better if he began the scene with imhotep hitting the gong at 14:37
10:27 Imhotep thought Evie was Anck-Su-Namun because he stoles eyes from the guy with bad vision. So he knew Evie was a reincarnation of someone he knew, he just assumed Anck-Su-Namun.. why? i have no clue
Now a video of Everything Wrong With the third Mummy Returns is much needed.
The reason Alex knows the curator of the British Museum after he sees the photograph is because Alex spends most of his time at British Museum than he does at home, as said by Rick himself immediately after. Can't beleive everyone else missed that part.
I hate that I love watching these videos. Now whenever I watch a movie or TV show, I hear your voice in my head every time something stupid happens and a little dinging sound for a sin.
Sadly, I love doing this and, therefore, am somewhat sadistic in my enjoyment of movies and TV shows now.
Your "ailment" (and I use that term loosely) is called Cinema Sindrome. It affects nearly all those who are subscribed to this channel. You are not alone.
I know that pain.
CinemaSins almost ruined Wonder Woman. When the Amazons were practicing combat, it was overly edited and all I could here was Jeremy saying, "Cut! Cut! Cut!..."
You too?!
You are contradicting yourself. If its "sad" for you, than you don't love it. It's self deception.
3:11 one sin off for not knowing the geography of London. Big Ben and the Tower Bridge are not next to each other.
Despite of the flaws in this is one, its one of my fav movies ever.
16:43 can we address how fucking hilarious his movement is as he runs to drop to his knees to scream "NIIIIIIIY!"

I always wondered who filled the bathtub with water and left it full of soap bubbles. Apparently the bad guys, because they were the only ones there before Jonathan and his date. Now I am wondering why the bad guys thought it important enough to draw a bubble bath while they waited.
for #60, remember...Ardeth isn't Obi-Wan, he can't utilize the high ground to its fullest capabilities
These movies had some shitty plots but tbh they're fun to watch
I like the comedy parts witht he mummy guards.
Like when the bus drove on the bridge and the mummy was like "oh shit"
my thoughts exactly
8:23 ALSO, when Imhotep is resurrected here, suddenly he can speak English! Ding!
and German (nein)
And he learns to speak it fluently with Darth Vader filter , and with no Egyptian accent, but a hint of British 9:05, Ding!
EarlOfMaladyCrescent Or the bracelet gave the kid the ability to understand him. I mean it protects him from being killed while he wears it for some reason and gives him the ability to pull out 3D projections of all the future points of the journey...is language translation where we draw the line?
+Angela Nova Alex could read it so it's possible he naturally understood. Could also be the bracelet tho but yeah it's clear Imhotep was still speaking Ancient Egyptian, the switch was only to indicate he could understand. I don't think it protected him from being killed tho, only that they wouldn't kill him until they found Ahm Shir.
I always took it as since they both spoke the language they just had them "speak" in English for everyone else to understand. But the bracelet thing makes sense, too. lol
I watched this guy pick apart The Mummy, and he did a pretty good job with a couple mistakes. This time, he obviously wasn't paying attention, because a lot of what he complained about was actually explained. Plus, a lot of the "sins" mentioned were actually just him saying "Really. I mean, really?" You can't use lazy storytelling to complain about lazy storytelling. The last video I watched was good. This one, not so much.
16:45 - i know its a running gag to sin "No"s (or Niy's, i guess) but i want to point out that run-up that Imhotep does...the way he gestures towards Rick and Scorp, reminds me of Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls...Jim Carrey does the exact same 'run up and "No!"' bit when his slinky stops one step short on that giant staircase...
Everything Wrong With The Truman Show
Shelf Strider Duuuuuuude this would be so fucking awesome
Shelf Strider
Idk how to feel about this
Nathaniel Mauro same.
No thing
8:24 In the first movie, he was blinded and his tongue cut out. At the end of the first movie, he died with the eyes and tongue he stole. So it makes sense that those items still " remain" (quotation fingers) for his resurrection in this movie.
I watched the first mummy review you did. I loved it. But I was wondering wouldn't the mummy have bad eyesight from taking a man's eyes who couldn't see without his glasses.
13:53 wait those were supposed to be scorpions?? i always thought that they *were* shadows that turned into goop, which then turned into the army of anubis x_x
SUCH a guilty pleasure movie. So fun.
ISetYourFaceOnFire yhhhh
ISetYourFaceOnFire imagine if Anubis didn't send him the scorpion and it was just a random one and he never became terrible CGI.
ISetYourFaceOnFire
You mean your cinemasinful pleasure.
"I think I'm more upset that this kid is British."
^ That's racist.
Plus I don't think Alex's nationality matters as much as his parents in that scene. His father is American so it stands to reason he'd have heard some American phrases growing up, he just happened to grow up in England hence the English accent.
In those days a British child (or adult) would not use the expression 'kick your ass'. Not unless he'd grown up in the U.S. which clearly he didn't.
Lara Uniting So? His father is American and as proved earlier in the movie he knows how to swear like an American, "this sucker weighs a goddamn ton". The English don't really use 'goddamn' or 'sucker' anywhere near as much as Americans do (or at all really). However even now it's unlikely you'll hear most 8 year olds using words like those. His vocabulary has very little to do with where he was raised and more to do with the fact he was raised in an American/English household.
Casualty1987 the kid said arse instead of ass. The term arse is/was commonly used in the UK
Zing!
I’m dying at “Ihmotep had to suck a dude dry...”
That blue is the warmest color joke is just perfect. Thanks for that
I feel like the CGI alone was worth 150 sins or so. You've been very charitable here.
Still better than Tom Cruise The mummy
amen brother amen like those mummy films from 1999 and 2001 sucks than see the 2017 the mummy ah nvm this one is worse.
So true. That Mummy movie was so boring.
Not to say that's a challenge.
@@robbieredrum5953 The videogame, however, was surprisingly good.
Fun fact: The 2017 version was originally going to be an actual continuation of this franchise, with the O'Connell's in Latin America and Antonio Banderas as an Aztec mummy (also the villain of course).

the way Jeremy says "Niy" just cracks me up.
I loved watching these were I was younger. Goofy fun and Rachel weisz. And I gotta give credit to Fraser. He brought some fun
Is it so wrong that movies I've always enjoyed I've been so blind to the errors right in front of me that it takes a video from CinemaSins to open my eyes?
LOL. I'm the same way. I've been watching these videos for movies I've seen and surprised by them. It's funny what you miss when you're young(er).
Woohoo! I wanted The Mummy Returns, and I got The Mummy Returns! The movie may not make a lot of sense, but I loved it! Except for the owl killing. Oded Fehr ("Ardeth") is such a hottie, especially when these movies were made! Thank you, CinemaSins!
Oh yeah, the BIT older teens & moms were there for Ardeth Bey (no doubt)!
Sassy Devil It was a falcon, not an owl. But it definitely hits my feelings too every time.
You're fat and ugly.
Sassy Devil it was a hawk
They limited the tattoos on his face cause they knew his appearance would bring many kinds of people.
I’m weak from laughing....😭😭😭😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I cannot believe how hilarious this one was. First one was funny but this one had me in tears I couldn’t breathe!!! You’re awesome bro!!! I’m sharing this all over...
The best part of this whole thing was Lions King theme at the end. Pure genius comedy!! Five stars!
16:42 I can't breathe! Omg, I can't stop laughing!! Why is this scene so funny to me? The way the Rick is just hovering over the pit and the Scorpion King is just staring at him is pretty silly, but the way Imhotep just runs in strikes that pose and yells, "Niy" is so fucking beautiful. And then the Scorpion King slowly looks up at him. I am literally in tears right now.
Can you guys sin the movie 'Prince of Persia: Sands of time'?
I think CS tends to stay away from video game movies, I think they generate less interest because the fanbase almost always calls the movie bad before they even see it, so making a video about said movies is less fulfilling than actual movies.
Also, probably a tight schedule now that it's summer, with all these blockbusters coming out he's probably got his hands full trying to get relevant videos to the predecessors all out during this time.
I guess, but they did just do Assassin's Creed.
Probably. I just commented because a sin video for that movie is something I'd like to see. It's fine if they don't.
Underrated af
+Friendlysociopath But , they (Just recently ) did sin " Assassin's Creed (2016) " . So , not entirely .
Well, I did say 'tends to' because there are times they did video game movies. However, AFAIK Prince of Persia has a way smaller following than stuff like Assassin's Creed or Mortal Kombat so it's inherently less "wurf" to do a video on it.
I could be wrong, maybe he's sitting there in his chair malevolently drumming his fingers together Mr. Burns-style and eyeing his copy as it sits in the case. "Soon- soon you will be sinned!"
I love that he mentioned the guards that just died standing there.
okay, Rock you like a Hurricane playing at the end made my day worth something
