'02 Maxima Se 6-speed manual driver here. 187k miles and it still runs like a top. I've always driven it like I stole it but I keep up on maintenance. 3-4k mile oil changes, 30k gear oil changes, coolant changes etc. So far I've replaced both front wheel bearings, two radiators, and a power steering hose. Everything still works on it except the driver's side heated seat. Even the heated steering wheel still works. For the 13K I spent on it almost 15 years ago I'm happy as Hell with it!

You will not expect that from something that cost that much. stabilizer links always failing, petty electrical quirks especially with headlight, i have had leaking roof with every single one of them, they eat tires, etc. You can just tell these are cost cutting moves. Never had a problem passing emissions with a 21 year old Nissan by simply clearing codes and then later changing a charcoal canister valve. Not sure if NJ's emission testing is as strict as other places and this will work everywhere though. The emissions problems of these old Nissans are usually soft codes and safe to clear with software because the emissions systems are not even broken when they are throwing code.

I have an 09 nissan versa with the 6 speed manual that has 107,000 miles and I bought it brand new in 2008. Its holding up great even with me being pretty rough on it. Been in a few accidents but I could repair it all in my driveway with hand tools.
