@@tonymontana3742 seems like a good car it’s got 18k miles and it’s a 2015 id buy it maybe not just have it for like 10 years though but it’s a Toyota so it will last u awhile

Very happy with my maxima. Drove primarily highway throughout the last 5 years. Bought it at 33k mikes used.
I have a 2016 Maxima. How long did you drive Maxima when tranny was failing? Do you get scans yearly too? I'm driving mine with a tranny code currently. Thanks
I’ve owned my 2010 Nissan Maxima SV for ten years. I purchased it back in 2012 when it was only two years old and it had 39,000 miles on. In 2016, my CVT was replaced at 99,000 miles due to Nissan extending the warranties on certain 09-10 Maxima’s. It didn’t show signs of slippage, but Nissan ran some test and determined it met their requirements and plus my extended warranty was abt to expire so I had my dealership complete any work that was covered until warranty. Since I live in Las Vegas, the heat from our extreme summer temps played a role in my cvt needed to be replaced. I haven’t had any major issues with my Maxima nor has it left me stranded. Every two years, my Nissan battery seems to die, but it’s still covered under Nissans warranty. Now, my maxima is sitting at 178,000 trouble free miles. It’s sad that Nissan is discontinuing it’s flagship sedan. I will not trade this car in anytime soon. I’ll keep until the wheels fall off. Everything is in still working condition. Despite the negative reviews abt the CVT, I actually love it especially paired to this VQ35DE v6 motor. It makes a nice sound under acceleration and it drives smooth. This is one of the best cars I’ve owned in my 22 years of driving. Thank you Nissan for building a solid, reliable and well built vehicle for the last 42 years.
I bought my 2010 and 2012 with the same mileage just like you did. Currently it only has 47,000 mi on it because I hardly ever drive it. Only use it when the wife and I want to dress up and go somewhere nice. I hope to one day put a 6-speed manual transmission in it but that's going to be some serious cash.
I have a 2020 Maxima, and I love it. I’ll eventually run with an extended drivetrain warranty due to possible CVT issues. I don’t treat it like a day qualifying at NASCAR, so I’m not too worried about it. Just a fun, spirited car to drive.
My mother has a 2010 Nissan maxima and I have truly been blown away with the car since she has gotten it. It has survived Louisiana, Syracuse winters for 4 years and now West Virginia's mountains. The car was truly ahead of it's time and still feels so luxurious and fast paced, thing is surprisingly quick.
@@quixomega 🙇🏼♂️, probably Renault has a bad reputation because bought AMC and was the same, before Renault the cars of AMC(Jeep) were goods, but after 🥴, now the same with Nissan 😮💨.
I rented a 2014 Maxima many years ago, it had 5k miles on it ... I fell in love with that car ... so powerful and comfortable ... Still think about it to this day ... 😍
I bought a 2010 maxima in 2019 for 6000 with 150k miles, now it has 190k + with the original CVT and haven’t had a problem. I beat the crap out the car and it hasn’t left me stranded. Simply maintain the car, GET oil changes and replace what worn and it will last. With its 290+ hp 3.5 engine and somewhat comfortable interior I would definitely recommend this as a great used car. Try and find one with the SV (Standard Value) package it will give you a big backup camera with nav, Bluetooth audio, 9 speaker BOSE system, dual sunroof, leather, heated steering, ventilated - heated driver seat and a rear power sunshade. Mine has a rare center arm rest in the back with radio and climate controls you can also find if you’re into that. I’m so disappointed that Nissan is discontinuing their flagship sedan and not dropping one of the other 3 cheaper sedans they offer. I personally feel the Maxima would sell better with a full proper redesign and an AWD option. I would say the Maxima is more luxurious than any modern Infiniti sedan.
@@lp0219 the CVT blew up trying to pass a Prius. I bought a Mercedes ML 550 2009 tho the Maxima made it to 210,000 I sold it for 1k I take back my lengthy comment about the Maxima don’t get one unless it’s low mileage.
You’re the most likeable person I’ve ever watched. I don’t know crap about cars, but since I stumbled onto your videos a week ago, I’ve just been binge watching them. Blessings to your health and well-being sir!

I couldn’t know less about cars, but I listen intently. Scotty fascinates me, and I’ve always thought mechanics are some of the smartest people on the planet.
Yes the old Maximas were super reliable at my shop about 22 yrs ago I had a customer that owned a Diesel model rare I think it was from Europe not Japan because the steering wheel was on the left side of the passenger seat s
I drove mine like a race car for at least 200k of the miles on it and it had that button where you could switch it from comfort to sport mode and that was high tech back then... THE GOOD OLD DAYS WHEN THINGS WERE BUILT TO LAST
@@michaelkelley3378 I would love to have one in good condition because it had enough room inside and that 6 cylinder engine that would run forever if you took care of it
I drove my 89 maxima almost 15 years and 145,000 miles. It was a fabulous car, smooth as silk, powerful, just couldn’t ask for more. Wish they still made them like that. Today, I have a 2.5 4 cyl. 2004 Altima, almost 19 years old, that is also a nice car. I may keep it till I’m 90, 22 more years.😀
@@johnlandacre9881 Ours was a hand-me-down that survived by my brother and I learning to drive. I have a Pathfinder now. Nice, but definitely a sedan masquerading as an SUV.
Yea the 1989-1994 bodystyle Maxima was jazzy if you had one back in 1990 you was doing good for yourself i remember as a kid seeing the old school Maximas riding around with rims
I have a 2014 Infiniti Q50s Hybrid 194k miles and running great Very quick and fun I’ve owned a 97 Maxima 03 G35 coupe 07 G35 sedan They’ve all been great to me all made it over 200k miles with no issues Also have a 05 Titan 284k miles Nissan
One of big reasons why I love Crown Vics and Grand Marquis/Town Cars is that if you need to you can get a good factory reman engine or transmission for a lot less than most late model engines or transmissions and chances are they will outlast them too. You just really can't beat Old School.
And all the 60's muscle were even easier. But now valued as high as a new Corvette. My advice? Snag a Mustang with the Coyote engine if your a Ford guy.
On 9-4 2010 I bought a brand new Nissan Altima with a CVT transmission. On 4-18-2016 I gave it to my oldest granddaughter when she started commuting 100 mikes daily to USF university in Tampa. On 9-30-2020 she gave it to her younger sister that had just turned 17. My granddaughter drives it daily now to work and college. It now has 230K miles .Never had anything but routine maintenance. All major items still work fine including Tranny. Still cleans up nice too. Smoothest riding and quietest car I ever owned. Her Dad owns his own automotive repair shop and makes sure all maintenance is performed.
I have a 2017 Nissan Sentra right at 100,000 miles. I've done the recommended transmission fluid changes and so far no issues. The transmission works so far and no engine issues.
I have a 2014 Maxima it only has 68,000. I love the car. It rides beautifully and is super fast. I am impressed with how the exterior and interior still look new 8 years later.
I have a 2010 Maxima with 228,000 miles on it, and it still drives like a beast. I drain and fill the transmission fluid every 30,000 miles, and I have not had any issues with the transmission.
Wife had 2006 Maxima SE. Loved it except when you accelerated rapidly, the FWD torque almost ripped the steering wheel out of your hands. In 2016, traded for a 2013 Infiniti G37x. Man, what a great deal. Maxima was fun…G37 is funner. Wife says she’ll drive her Infiniti until the wheels fall off and since it only has 80,000 miles could be awhile. Unfortunately, Infiniti will probably fold in the next couple yrs.
I used to own a 2005 Sentra SER Spec V had the limited slip and 6 speed manual that little car has torque steer also lol, you can’t beat rwd or awd though
I have 2011 Nissan maxima with 225 miles had it for 9 years now. Original transmission and engine almost everything in the car is original. For transmission, I change the fluid every 35k miles. I also added a cooler to help cool transmission fluid down and everything is just perfect with this car.
I have a Nissan Maxima, 2013 model, 142-thousand miles all original equipment. Transmission still works perfectly (knock on wood!) I am, however, a very timid driver and rarely ask the transmission to get up and go so it has been gently used.
Drain and fill your CVT fluid every 10,000 miles. Switch to Castrillón CVT fluid. The Nissan CVT fluid is garbage and is why their Jatco sourced CVTs fail so prematurely. To really protect your CVT, install an auxiliary transmission fluid cooler in front of the radiator.
@@cm1133 how can someone go about that, is that something that you have to go to a specific shop for or can you do it yourself, in regards to adding the transmission oil cooler. I would like to do something like that. I have a 2009 Maxima in amazing condition. I'm at 178k miles and I bought it with 91k miles and I've never changed the transmission oil but it runs beautiful.
im currently in the process of getting my drivers license and im getting a 2012 maxima handed to me, honestly if there is one thing i absolutely love about the car is that it is relatively low maintenance on every part excluding the transmission. sure it wont go Mach 1 but it gets me to point A to point B comfortably and smoothly. im looking forward to maintaining my maxima for as long as i possibly can and hope to god my cvt doesn't strand me in the middle of a desert lol.
If it has an issue you’ll know. The cvt on this car was still working but would go into limp mode on long drives so I just had it replaced. This car never left me stranded.
Mom had a 2002 maxima all the bells and whistles she drove that thing till it finally blew up over 230k miles. Helped me out learning how to work on vehicles when I was still new at driving. Recently traded in my 2010 Sentra cvt finally went out at 120k fun car to drive though
I have a 2014 maxima sv premium. Love this car. I've modded the hell out of it. Still got the cvt on it at 120k. Actually just had the cvt fluid changed. No metal shavings thank God. With a ecu tune and other mods dyno tested I'm pushing 315 engine hp on it. And the cvt runs perfectly. You can slap an old altima 6 speed on these things. So thats what I'm doing next. From what I heard if you switch the cvt with a manual its a night and day difference. Cant wait. These cvts I've seen them go above 200k miles without any issues IF YOU CHANGE THE FLUID. It will last you for a while.
Scotty, please tell folks that on a CVT, if you change the fluid every 30-40 thousand miles, it can, and will make it last forever. We did this on a 2008 Rogue SL, and traded it at 422,000 miles. Never did slip, but the 4 wheel drive axle had problems, so it was time for a trade. The CVT is just like anything else, you have to take care of it, and, you should never treat it like a hot rod.
He knows, but he’s invested in this viewpoint and won’t change it. Lots of maxima owners on here telling people that the cvt issues are very exaggerated. There’s no information on an actual failure rate.
@@bjornironsides6474 they are exaggerated. This is my car, and I should have told scotty that when I first bought I beat the snot out of it all the time so it took a pretty good beating. He got the numbers a little mixed up, I had it replaced at 160k. It still worked but it would go into limp mode on long drives so I figured it was time to just replace it. If you take it easy and change the fluid they will last
Agree with you Bradley Evans, drive your car and dont hot rod it will make last longer and since I'm old school i still warm my vehicle up before driving off. I put 150K on my murano mostly city drivng with just regular routine maintenance.
Those are all fair statements. I now have 126K trouble-free miles on my '16 MAX I bought new; changed the CVT fluid @60K & 120K miles. Thanks for giving the MAX some love!
I recently sold my 2007 Murano with the 3.5V6 and CVT. I also had my CVT fluid changed at 60k and 120k miles... I sold it with ~180k miles on it and it still had the original CVT. The fluid still looked clean when I sold it but I advised the new owner to get it changed. It was FWD so perhaps it put less strain on the internals. It was also made in Japan so maybe that helped. It still had a nice interior and everything worked. I had to replace a power steering hose/oil cooler gasket/motor mounts but had no other major issues. It never broke down on me or left me stranded. I admit I was nervous about the CVT and did not want to push my luck so that is why I sold it... also I got a lot of $$$ for it with the stupid high used car prices. I have known a number of people with certain model year Altimas who have gone through multiple CVTs so it seems certain models/years are more problematic.
I remember one of my first cars was a 1988 Nissan Maxima. I had bought it used when I was in the Air Force (back in 1990). His Maxima (in this video) is really nice. Excellent condition for the age and mileage. I cannot get over how clean the engine bay is on this car!
With a CVT? I believe you if true. My wife has a 2015 Rogue Select with a CVT and it still drives perfect. But it only has 84K miles and I change the CVT fluid on it a lot. It's a Rogue Select which were made in Japan. (but the parts are all the same quality, just fit and finish might be better). Even though it was assembled in Japan, it came with the same parts as Rogue's made here which was kind of disappointing. (Same crappy batteries, same crappy Valeo altnernator). But it was assembled in Kyushu Japan so I like it for a Rogue.
I remember when the maxima had the inline 6 cylinder 5 speed manual in the 1980's.. The maxima as far as I can remember always had the option of a manual transmission. This is what made them fun to drive. A Japanese 4 door family car out running the Camaro and mustang. The maxima was hard to beat. But now it has the same excitement as a ford fusion.
I've got a '98 Nissan Maxima. I bought it for $1,200 in 2019. At the time it had 167,000 miles on it. Now it's not far from 225,000 miles on it. As far as I know it still has the original transmission.
Just bought a 2014 Maxima and had to check with Scotty on his thoughts. He made me feel like I made a good choice. I’m saving up for a transmission now. The option of switching it to standard sounds like a plan. Can’t wait until it arrives I bought this over a 2014 ES 350. I know the Lexus is a great car but it’s like 6-7k more for one. Maxima has always caught my eye and I should’ve bought one years ago
I got 2016 Nissan Maxima and the cool thing is the rear seat folds down so i end up with very spacious storage space but at the same time it drives way nicer then a SUV and way better fuel mileage. Excellent car to travel in because you can sleep in the back and save money not paying for hotels . I highly recommend this car
Tell 'em scotty! The maxima is a great, affordable, and fun car to drive overall. Some people forget that not everything needs to be a sport coupe with 10 mpg 😂
I got 1994 Nissan Micra 1.3L with CVT-N tranny. Except for the Transmission nothing else really has been a problem and the car runs on Propane-Butain gas fuel. I have kept it and repaired the transmission because its cheaper to get a different car for over 8 years. Now I have bought Honda Civic MK-8, 2006, with Robotized Transmission, which you don't have in the US. But I still have the Nissan for a second car. Everything still works. Thank you Scotty.
My 2009 blue 💙 Maxima sv with 150k miles looks better than the newer Maxima,s and keeps up with other cars of today, great styling. Love walking up on it in a parking lot...🚙
I'm a Nissan technician and I've only ever driven Maximas. 2004, 2012, and now driving a 2016. We rarely get them in the shop for repairs. Maxima CVT transmissions are very reliable I've only replaced one. Really let down they are discontinuing them. Also the reason they are selling less Maximas is supply issues. We simply just don't get new ones sent to the dealership so we don't sell any 🤷♂️
This guy is correct. My dealer loves my 2011 maxima. They said the same thing, minor repairs and they aren’t getting new ones in. I paid 16k for it in 2016 with 33k on it. Now at 97k. Been awesome, just deep snow defeats all sedans :(. I’m sad, I found a rust bubble on my rear wheel well. I thought I cleaned it best I could but salt wins. Oh well, nothing major yet
Hey Brian notice you mentioned your a Nissan technician I been having a issue for two years check forms and took it to shop but still having issue can I ask ?
my parents bought a 2010 altima 3.5 cvt and its got the original trans and its got 195k miles and is perfectly fine. drove it in high school and some of college. beat the heck out of it alot and no issues
I would have taken a maxima if they made them in AWD without the CVT. Therefore I went with G37X. I think a lot of people like the Maxima but go with the G37 for the lack of CVT and AWD or RWD. Little more power too.
I live in Chicago, own a 2018 Nissan Maxima S trim in blue, CVT transmission and all, 54.5k miles on it, still runs great. I keep up with maintenance on it, and although the transmission gets a bad rep (which may or may not be warranted, to each their own), it runs the same as when purchased brand new. Oh and did I mentioned completely paid off? Anyhow, great video Mr. Kilmer as always. ✊🏻
I'm from the Chicago area to and my trans just went out yesterday in my 2014 Maxima with 86k miles. Just got an estimate of 6k to replace. The previous owner changed the trans fluid at 40K. Yikes
Hey Scotty!! Glad to hear your voice is back and you seem to be feeling better then the past few videos you posted your hands are even waving around even more now! 😂
My 2012 Maxima has 278K miles on it. Original CVT which I've never done anything to. I bought it with 50K back in 2015. Change the oil every 5000 & suspension @ 100k & 200k. That's it! Car is used strictly to commute to work Mon-Fri. 80 miles a day all highway
Problem with most people and the CVT transmission are them pushing the gas pedal to hard from take off! Yes they have lots of power but a gradual acceleration to speed is the way to do it..the CVT will last longer that way..
I've got 156,000 miles on my 2011 and only problem I had a light came on in the dash. I went to check the fluid and realized I couldn't because it was made into the tube. I checked it and the fluid was burnt in every meaning of the word. I prayed and changed the fluid and viola, everything is going good. That was like almost 100,000 miles so it was way overdue . I just changed the fluid again, at 156,000 miles. Just change the fluid, for some reason Nissan wants it's customers to think that the transmission is sealed and the fluid is good for the life of the car. The manual says to change transmission fluid at about 30,000 miles.
I don't understand why people always need 4k, especially on a tablet or phone. OK a big 65" screen I understand. And I work with some 1st-world rich obnoxious people who demand 4k on their smartphones, half of who I bet don't even know what 4k really means... I'm happy with 480 on mine I might go 720 at times or even just 240 if not going full-screen
I love sedans. Australia no longer makes the Holden Commodore or the Ford Falcon and the last few models were world class and tremendous value for money. An American friend of mine who lived here 15 or so years ago wanted to take back to the US a Ford Falcon XR8 as he loved it and a US moto journalist tested an Falcon XR6 Turbo and closed the article, 'Thanks Ford, we now know what we are missing'.
2013 Maxima here. Only 72K. In excellent shape. Had to replace A/C compressor, tires, brakes, original dim headlights replaced with Sylvania Gold extra bright. Keep it waxed up. Very happy driver of this said vehicle. Too bad it’s disappearing from production. Handles great too. And lots of pick up and go!
I own a 12' Altima with 107,000 miles and the only things i've replaced are the tires and rear brakes. Front brakes are still good. I change the CVT fluid every 30,000 miles so i'm hoping to get at least 200,000 miles out of that CVT.
I got my first car over a year ago, a 2002 Nissan Maxima SE. 200,000 miles. It drives like a dream. It has its problems sure but none of them involve the engine... yet.
I've got a 2011 nissan altima, original transmission at 201k miles. Shifting isn't the BEST, but it still works. I have had to replace a buncha other stuff though.
yea I have an 01 Nissan maxima also for 900$ and I love it too lol cant wait to buy the new wheels I'm getting for it. Right now the cars tan but eventually ima make it another color maybe black tbh, but the wheels I'm getting are chrome so it'll still go well with the color my car is right now
I got my 2015 Nissan Pathfinder with about 7k miles on it back in 2015, and now it's right around 110k, still with the original factory CVT. Getting kinda anxious expecting the tranny to go soon... otherwise, the only major things I've had to replace were both rear brake calipers, a rear wheel bearing hub, and the driver side sun visor.
Love your videos! You're the one that encouraged me to buy a 2010 Toyota 4Runner SR5. Watching this video I'm trying to convince my eighteen-year-old this is a good first vehicle for him.
I just bought a 2012 Maxima a few weeks ago with 130k miles. First time owning a new (to me) small car and so far, I do really like it. My only issue is I keep getting a MAF sensor code but ive already replaced the sensor, cleared the codes, cleaned the air filter, and checked for leaks. The only thing left is to replace wiring. Other than that, it drives very nicely, even though i dont know what half the buttons do 😂
If Nissan would start making the classic Datsun 510 sedan again, they could have a successful company. Bring back Datsun, build it, and they will come.
I got thru the Worst/Tallest New york Snowstorm Ive ever seen with my 90s Nissan Maxima without even having to shovel my way out of parking and back to New jersey. After bmw, Nissans are the nicest cars ever🤩🤩🤩🤩
Its a shame Sedans aren’t as popular I got a Mitsu Lancer gts from 2009 its got paddle shifters, sports suspension, 18" wheels and it runs great only thing that needed changing was the starter, exhaust, tpms, and the amp.
Sedans will stick around since there still is a sizable amount of people who have preference for practicality. And with EVs coming around, sedans will all be the rage again because efficiency
@@mcherylyn I had a 2001 T.i maxima the top model. Ac never worked, but apart from that nothing ever went wrong, I got 200,000 Kms out of and only paid 3grand. It was one owner with full service history.
I have a 12 Maxima with under 75k miles. Just don't rack up miles on our vehicles. I love my Maxima. Lots of speed but also a good feel of luxury. Only issue has been a dead battery.
Nissans Are Excellent! The Transmissions don't Have Issues! I Don't Care What Anyone Says My Dad Has A 2018 Altima and it's got over 200k on it. original Motor And Transmission and change the oil and filter every 5k and Transmission Fluid every 50k. Never Had Any Issues and He's still Driving It.
I just bought a 2024 Nissan Versa. I hunted until I found a manual transmission model, wanted to avoid the CVT worry. I'm expecting a good ownership experience. So far love the Versa, and I'm averaging between 42.5 and 43.1 MPG, rural driving.
I had an 02 and a 05 maxima . Loved the cars . I almost bought the g37 . I live in the Galveston area and got caught in a rain storm on the way back in dads 03 tundra . I decided to get the 14 tundra just cus of the storms . I did love the maximas
The Mazda CX-9 from 2010 up to 2016 as far as I know also has those internal water pumps. Replacing them will need the engine to be taken out. It's a Ford made V6 engine and people say it's not well designed thus the hassle in fixing them.
Thanks for participating. My SIL bought an Altima for my daughter. Already worried about the trans but they tell me they bought a warranty. I'm just an old lady, don't know squat if you'd ask them. Didn't get this old being stupid 😆
We have 148k on our 2007 Nissan Sentra 2.0. I religiously change the oil and do the CVT fluid every 35k. I do drain and fills. What comes out goes back in. I am planning on getting 200k . The motor is as quiet as it was when we got it brand new. Runs perfect.
I was always a car guy... I hate sedans but thats usually all you get now... the days of two doors seems to be over. Your not going to be whipping through traffic in an SUV that likes to roll.
@6:40 you don't shift gears but you do changed ratios which feels just like changing gears just without the torque loss between shifts like a transmission with gears. Long story short in automatic mode it drops revs as speed increases whereas in the manual mode you can keep the revs up high (where the power is) by choosing the ratio you want.

Nice, change or flush?

I've got a 2011 nissan altima, original transmission at 201k miles. Shifting isn't the BEST, but it still works. I have had to replace a buncha other stuff though.
Your trans is failing
I have 129 miles on my Nissan Maxima and zero issues. I have changed my transmission fluid a couple of times.
I LOOKED IT UP THERE NOT ENDING PRODUCTION OF THEIR CARS
The maxima yes

My current car is a 2001 Nissan Maxima 5 speed. I love it. The guy at the parts store tried to buy it from me yesterday. She is a keeper.
yea I have an 01 Nissan maxima also for 900$ and I love it too lol cant wait to buy the new wheels I'm getting for it.
I have a Nissan 2001 with 243000 miles, I have never changed the transmission, always its services with synthetic engine and transmission oil
Nissan Maxima, Frontier and Z350 are good whips
I love the VQ37VHR engine in my 370Z, 44K miles and it still doesn't use a drop of oil between the 3K mile oil changes.
I got the same maxima same color and same year😊. 236K original transmission 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Love your videos! You're the one that encouraged me to buy a 2010 Toyota 4Runner SR5. Watching this video I'm trying to convince my eighteen-year-old this is a good first vehicle for him.
BTW, the 7th Nissan Maxima has a really beautiful front looking !
Wow! I was just thinking the same thing.
It's not Nissan anymore, it's Renault!
They were Nissan in other countries, but they were tough little cars.
That would require the govts of the world to stop the agenda. Not happening.
If they bring back some of their smaller pick ups they’d sell just bump up the horse power and torque in the little 2.5 liter engine
My 2008 Altima has the 3.5 L and is still going with 224k miles with the original CVT. Changed the CVT fluid every 30k miles.
Fluid changes are essential on these, shame on nissan for not making that clear with customers
The 90-2000s Maxima's were beasts.
my son had a 91 and a 01 Maxima, both where beasts. Never had any high dollar issues with them. Out lasted my 95 Honda civic.
My favorite car ever, was my 97 Maxima...the only major repair was a starter when it was six years old.
@@mcherylyn I had a 2001 T.i maxima the top model. Ac never worked, but apart from that nothing ever went wrong, I got 200,000 Kms out of and only paid 3grand. It was one owner with full service history.
The old hardbody pickup was a beast.

The exception doesn't make the rule.
Most people have issues with them. One guy having a decent one is the exception and not the rule.
I’m sure some cars have issues but I have a 2016 Nissan Sentra hasn’t nickeled and dimed me yet. Maintenance is key.
There’s a lot out there like you and your dad, my friend. The only hate these cars get, at this bloated level, is from this channel.
You need help!
I test drove a 13 maxima and a 12 G37 and I got the G37 few months ago
Gs are awesome it’s just that the takeover kids have been giving them a bad name now
The Mazda CX-9 from 2010 up to 2016 as far as I know also has those internal water pumps. Replacing them will need the engine to be taken out. It's a Ford made V6 engine and people say it's not well designed thus the hassle in fixing them.
Thanks again for filming my money pit nissan scotty 👍🏼. And yes the battery light did come back on lol.
Thanks for participating. My SIL bought an Altima for my daughter. Already worried about the trans but they tell me they bought a warranty. I'm just an old lady, don't know squat if you'd ask them. Didn't get this old being stupid 😆
I think @Scottykilmer7 is a scam?
We have 148k on our 2007 Nissan Sentra 2.0. I religiously change the oil and do the CVT fluid every 35k. I do drain and fills. What comes out goes back in. I am planning on getting 200k . The motor is as quiet as it was when we got it brand new. Runs perfect.
Amazing that you know what Nissan is doing before even the executives of Nissan know!
2000 maxima - original transmission and engine - 330,000 miles - no major issues still
Scotty Kilmers was waving his hands around so much in this videos it looked like he was conducting an orchestra.
Lmfao
He's always "conducting an orchestra" 😂😂
I think @Scottykilmer7 is a scam?
👋👋👋
I've always said I think he missed his true calling.
I was always a car guy... I hate sedans but thats usually all you get now... the days of two doors seems to be over. Your not going to be whipping through traffic in an SUV that likes to roll.
Issues with CVT transmissions.
Japanese proverb: "Man who eat cheese puffs with chopstick, leave no evidence on fingers."
I have a 2009 maxima factory cvt still going strong at 191k thankfully🙏🙏
My brother had a 2014 maxima. I know why he loved the car. The power is insane
@6:40 you don't shift gears but you do changed ratios which feels just like changing gears just without the torque loss between shifts like a transmission with gears. Long story short in automatic mode it drops revs as speed increases whereas in the manual mode you can keep the revs up high (where the power is) by choosing the ratio you want.
the Angel-wing style taillights on these are also very underrated.
My favorite thing about it tbh, especially with the factory smoked tails
I know Scotty for the most part doesn't like Nissan but I have had several Nissans and never had a problem.
Same. The hate is really unfounded. I’d like to see the study on the failure rate of these transmissions…. Yeah doesn’t exist.
same my brother had 2
Still driving my 2002 SE…184,000 miles.
