Ok, I'm thinking that maybe when you went to go plugged back in the AC wire connector, it shorted out the fuse... I would try that first before I do anything else. And of course make sure that the battery is disconnected when you do those operations. And then if it's not that, try to unplug and make sure that the connections are free of dust and dirt and everything and then try to replug. Hopefully we don't need to go any farther than that, but let me know if that works:-)

I have a Nissan Maxima from 2010 as well but I have the type B A/C so the controls are down on the bottom with the radio and its all one piece, I wanted to get a headunit and subs but im not sure if I can buy the other type like yours and install it where the a/c controls are on the top or not?
@@elfordjoel I got my spotify to work through the aux cord, If it wasn't working for you downlaod an itunes song and spotify should then be able to play, then you can get subs without a head unit you'd just need a converter but you can look up a vid for subs without a head unit. Hope this helps

Shoot saui...I would not think so, because I believe that actually harness is just for ac stuff, but did not test that theory out. That would be the first thing I would do! The next would be to check all my connections...let me know how it goes:-)
Absolutely not Christian...there are MANY ways to accomplish this task that you can do with just tape (electrical). I installed a Kenwood touchscreen to my 12' Maxima but when I set the clock it don't save and it will go back to like 12:00am and I have to keep setting the clock. Do you have any tips or troubleshooting advice ? Thank you
My first thought Uncpaw is that your ground connection is not very good (black wire). Check the radio harness connection for ground wire and make sure it is mated properly, and then make sure ground connection at physical battery is good (secure connection/tightened, not corroded). Hope this helps, cause it sounds like radio loses actual battery power everytime it is turned off, which in turn would reset clock back to factory setting of 12.

Hey Shadow...it all depends on how much you want to spend. They have options out there that look kind of like a Tesla screen (huge), covering all of the dash, encompassing all of the functions, and converting them to a touch screen application. Again, just comes down to what you want to spend (the way I did it was on the cheaper side). Hope this helps, and let me know what you decided to do;-)
Anyone ever have the issue where you crank the car and the radio doesn't work and the ac is blasting on high but none of the controls work. Also...display screen goes blank. Ive removed the negative batt cable to reset 1000 times but issue returns

I think I’m going to install an Apple CarPlay as the radio, and for the ugly orange box, I am going to trim some plastic mirror or something of that sort and cover the ugly ness up. I will leave a little at the bottom so you can still see the climate control, but cover up the glitchy orange mess.

Will end up doing what you did with the stereo and then replacing the upper nav trim with a standard climate control one.
Did you ever get this figured out (sorry for the late response)? One thing that I always start with is my connections first. I make sure that they are all properly mated together and are not touching their "neighbor"/bare metal so as not to create the short. Next, I go through each wire again and make sure that wire is correctly mated with the correct wire it is supposed to be joined together with from the source I purchased from/video I'm watching/forums/etc. Keep in mind to that you do not want to be connecting wires while negative side of battery terminal is hooked up. Try these things first, and let me know if that helps:-)

With the Nissan 2012 I was told that i needed to change the speakers because the radio would over heat due to the 2ohm stock speaker not being compatible with the new aftermarket radios being 4 ohm. Was that not the case with you?

Interesting...when I put other cars in the search for radios, it does not show I need to change the speakers. Only when I put in the Nissan Maxima. So it was not like they were trying to get me to buy the speakers so I assumed I actually did need to change the speakers. Based on you not having any issues probably not a big deal between the different ohm speakers and Crutchfield says to change them as their disclaimer.

I have a 13 Maxima but the bottom part has my heating and ac temp controls and the top part by the screen is nav and phone buttons. How do I go about this process?
Hey Josh...unfortunately in those cases, you will have to get the more expensive aftermarket screens that also encompasses those controls if you want to do it right.
Hey Daniel, it seems like sky's the limit for what you can buy.. if you look on Amazon, they've got some smaller ones, and then they've got very very large ones like around 10 inches or so.. so I think that would probably be a good place to start to see if that is something that you are looking at. Hey Joseph...It has been a little while since I did the install, but I don't remember a pink wire. Is it on the aftermarket stereo harness, or the meta wire harness to factory car harness?
If im not mistaken the pink wire is the brake wire, meaning the pink wire on the stereo, stereo wont turn on if the pink wire isnt connected, its for if your watching movies on your screen when the car is on drive the screen will black out, it will only work when the car is in park. But what i did was bypass it. I connected the pink wire of the stereo to one of the screws on the back of the stereo it self and it will work weather your in park or on drive
Hey OldMan...they do make units now that replace the top screen as well as the bottom one...but you will pay for it obviously (I saw one the other day on Amazon that was just under $600). They end up looking like what is put in a Tesla...huge screen and really cool, but again, spendy! Let me know if you go that route because I would love to see a pic of that! Thank you for comment;-)

Hey M J...yes, it says you can stream your audio (music) with Bluetooth...I did not get a chance to do that (or my daughter), because the car was TOTALLED a few days after install and we couldn't get radio back:-(
Yeah Avory...it definitely is a personal choice that has its goods with its bads...not for everyone! Would I do it again, or should I say, leave it in there permanently...probably not. So if you try it...save your factory set up just in case you want to transition back;-)
