I just traded in my 2017 Encore for 1, and I am glad that I did. Here's the thing about Buick it is not trying to be a Luxury brand, it's trying to be a Premium brand. For some of us who only make so much money but dream of the day we could get a true luxury brand, it's a good choice. For the money, size for a single guy who wants an SUV, but lives in a city. So far my only complaint I truly have is in 2020 how can a brand trying to be a premium brand not have cup holders in the back standard?
I know the comments on here are from people that have never had Buicks, they're very anti-GM or any US manufacturer's vehicles. Cadillac is the luxury brand for GM. What engine/trim did you buy? The higher trims have cupholders. Guess they had to distinquish the trims more. I test drove it but wasn't sold on the loud acceleration. Our Encore is much quieter than GX.
@Ron Becks OMG that steel metallic color was 1 of my choices it took me 2 days to decide, and I ended up going w/ the Deep Azure. I kept going back & forth between the 2. Now that I have had it a while I have 1 more complaint. OMG these backup lights are the worst I have ever had. They literally are pointless. Might as well have flashlights taped to the bumper.

I love my 2020 Encore and I went to New Orleans the other day (95 miles) and I got 39mpg!! Quiet smooth ride. I don''t need to step on the gas hard because it's too rough on any engine.
Right now the Encore and Encore GX are on sale. Meaning, the normal $27,000-$29,000 models are only about $18,000-$20,000. I'm looking at getting one myself, simply because the price/safety feature/options right now are worth it. Not to mention, the dealership I will be using offers a lifetime powertrain warranty once the standard GMC/Buick warranty expires. I test drove one the other night, and it handles very well. I am used to a 2013 Sonic, so acceleration and a 138hp engine are nothing new to me. However, I could tell a difference since my old Sonic was a standard 1.8l and not a turbo engine, which does make a difference. I have also learned to take the estimated gas mileage with a grain of salt, as the driver's habits and actions can have a huge impact in the long run. After I get mine I'll post back to update after a while. The one I am looking at has the 1.2l w/ CVT Transmission, which makes city travel pretty efficient.
This Encore GX is surprisingly handsome for this class, but I think the most important test on a GM product like this one will be the test of time. If I were buying one, I would wait a couple of years and see how well they hold up long-term.

Typical GM. Rush to catch up with the competition and failing. Lincoln has been blowing then away with their designs lately and even some of the non lux brands are looking better. Anyone remember the terrible Cadillac Catara vs Lincoln LS?
I own cars to drive them, not to run apps on them, so the infotainment screen isn't a selling point to me. It's a shame Buick won't offer a RWD, stick-shift car again. That Alpha platform has a lot of potential, and I like that Cadillac designed their version around the driver's field of view. Too bad the ATS is otherwise unreliable. Elsewhere there's a proposal for GM to bring back the Firebird on Trans Am names, and sell them under the Buick name. Pontiac was always trying to make the Firebird a little classier than the Camaro (while having little say in how they could do it), so Buick is the next best brand to sell it. I'd definitely consider a "Buick Firebird" over the Camaro and it's bunker-slit windows. But Buick is too busy figuring out how to rebadge Opel SUVs that don't compete well with the alternatives. At the end, Saturn was selling rebadged Opels, too. How many people here even remember Saturn?
GM should just pull Buick out of North America and make Buick a China-exclusive brand. Buick in North America is just redundant now because if you want a nice GM, you have Cadillac. If you want a GM that is affordable but nicer than a Chevy, you have GMC

Car doesn't have Sunroof???
2019 gx
Typical GM. Rush to catch up with the competition and failing. Lincoln has been blowing then away with their designs lately and even some of the non lux brands are looking better. Anyone remember the terrible Cadillac Catara vs Lincoln LS?
Lincoln shouldn't have gotten rid of Mercury. Still see a lot of them on the road and the Mariner was a beast in the snow.
The back and tail lights resemble Hyundai Tucson's.
Anything GM makes nowadays is an overpriced piece of junk.
Except for Chevy. Can't say anything about "junk", but Chevy isn't overpriced (just look at the Corvette).
Whoa there!!!
Nowadays? That's being nice.
Google it The Vette is an exception. That is a masterpiece aside from GDI long term.
@Mommy Dearest that's what they are doing.
With 3 cylinders yields 3 lives.
Such a tiny Buick, a bit bigger than the Encore. Oh it was made in Incheon South Korea. Hmm interesting
Premium? No sunroof?
Why is Buick still around.
There already heavily discounted I think Buick will only be made and sold in china soon
Isn’t this thing imported straight from Europe and rebadged as a Buick?
It a Buick from Korea.
If it were from Europe, it'd be much better.
Am I the only person who likes the encore gx
Michael its better with the beard than shaving...only today I've seen you face without shaving..thumbs up..lol
