- Anyone considering the smallest Buick SUV--the Encore--has a tough choice to make right now. Buy the newest Encore, the GX? It has updated styling and new powertrains, but the old Encore is still for sale as well. In this video I take a look at the differences in the Encore GX Preferred AWD and the Encore Preferred AWD, both starting at an MSRP of $27,905.
I compare the two SUVs in seven different categories:
1. Value (Price and features of each vehicle)
2. Safety (Both active safety features and passive IIHS results)
3. Power-train and performance (Engine, transmission, 0-60 time)
4. Fuel Economy (EPA rated fuel efficiency)
5. Reliability (Rated by Consumer Reports)
6. Functionality (How well the SUV performs intended function)
7. Styling (How each SUV looks, from my point of view)

I recently bought an Encore 2021 Preferred. So far I love it! I love how it supports my back and my knees. I don’t drive ALOT but so far it’s been a quiet smooth ride. A friend who bought a used Subaru Outback said my Encore is so quiet! She was impressed with the style, interior and lumbar support. Which sold me on this vehicle. I love driving it! Got it for 17k used 2021 model from Enterprise Car Sales! It has OnStar, LoJack and a nice audio panel and speakers. It drives just fine on the highway! I’m not a car geek but I had to replace a 2010 VW Jetta Wagon that was totaled in a rear end accident! 😢. Thats life.
I have the regular 19 Buick Encore preferred n it’s just the right size for me since I do DoorDash and Postmates n Grubhub n take my mom places including the small dogs n I do 29-31 miles to the gallon in town n do 32 miles to the gallon on the hwy! I rather take the 4 cylinder engine in my encore than the 3 cylinder engine in the gx!

Also Buick must make commercials on the Buick encores as I had mostly young people asking me about my Encore GX. Your pre owned Encore vehicles have affordable prices. So I recommend you push those commercials showing all your Encores. Hint: Toyota cross Corolla in all trims lack 5 features where the Buick Encores/Encore GXs have great features in all trims. Just saying cause I notice ReAl quiCk.

I love my Encore Preferred ride! Quiet! Who is doing Buicks marketing??? They need to get these cars marketed!!!! They are reliable according to Consumer Reports in the Encore Model!
Encores and Encore GX ST are the best vehicles ever. I bought my first Encore GX ST 2021 in April. I always thought I’ll never would afford a luxury car. Welp’ since Toyota pissed me off of making Venza only on Hybrid and increased MSRP I was recommended to see the Buick SUV’s and crossovers and Buick dealer was the only one who had awesome rebates off the MSRP. Thank you GM motors for creating the Encores. As my DARLA* feels and looks like a Mercedes but cooler and so comfortable 🤗🥰🥰🚗
Thank you for sharing how happy you are with your purchase. My mom is looking seriously at this. Knowing current owners are pleased with their decision to buy this makes me feel good that my mom will be happy with the car if she buys it.
@@monicawilson896 I preferred the 1.2L instead for gas savings and later on I’ll change it to 1.3L but for now I am comfortable as it is now. My nieces really like it and are shopping a preowned encore with the sport bar trim. The prices are very affordable and monthly low payments are great!

Thats not true prices are not the same the encores are heavily discounted right now and has a real transmission in the base modal
Just got a 2020 encore gx st.... one huge difference you didn't cover was handling. The regular encore feels like it's gonna fall over in corners... the gx st i got it nice and stiff... body stays level in cornering.... and it's very responsive

I still got the standard Encore. I like it, the look of it is better to me than the GX. Both are good cars, but I'm more for the simple things 😊

American carmaker are woefully behind. My 2012 Genesis 5.0 has a V8 429 hp, and gets 29 hwy. Wtf is gm doing that their 1.2 60 hp lawnmower engine gets 4 mpg better - 11 years later. Crap.
"Agonizing 9 seconds". Kid, are you for real? Do you really think in the bottom of your heart that 2 seconds are a the same as 2 hours, 2 days, 2 weeks. How in the world can you measure time in seconds when it comes to doing a 0-60? Your brain won't even feel the difference does the distance in 6 or 9 seconds. Why do all "young" reviewers use pathetic and overinflated adjectives like "agonizing" for describing the difference times of acceleration of vehicles they review. Boy, do you really think 2 seconds matter so much that a possible buyer will pass buy this vehicle? And no, 2 seconds delay are not agonizing. 2 seconds delay are agonizing when you suffer from cancer or debilitating illness. That's life. Of course I'm older than you and proud of it. Being older gets the priorities in place. 2 seconds in the life of a human being agonizing? This is the most comical saying ever heard. Otherwise your review is helluvagod. Can't wait to read more reviews in a few years time from you.
