Nothing like a thorough review from an ownership standpoint. You mentioned a lot of details that usually get overlooked. I always thought these were just a fancy looking Trax. But seems like they are a better overall experience. Thanks.
Just purchased this car. First time taking a loan on a vehicle and I'm 42. It's a 2018 Buick Encore Essence. Only drove it for 30 minutes. Had to get to work. I really like it! I hope it's a good vehicle for me. It has 36,000 miles on it. Traded in my 2002 GMC Envoy with over 250,000 on it! They have me $1000 on trade. Lol
I had an old Honda crv… for years from 07, just got my encore with 104k miles already, unfortunately the sellers dumbass lied and rolled back the mf miles, but it is what it is I guess, I hear you can make it past over 200k miles with proper maintenance. How do you guys like yours?
I love mine! Bought mine brand new back in 2018 and still have till now. No problems with it at all. Only complain I have is how easy my windshield cracked from a rock on the road. Other than that, it’s great🙌🏽
Good review. We have done the same regarding the headrests - reversed them, but found a bit too lean back and safety concern. So, what we did was take the headrests off and use a mallet to hit on the bend of the two metal rods just enough so it not too upright and they are now perfect.
@@ociphress I guess that you've already figured this out by now..... Just release the headrest completely. Then, turn it around and stick it right back in.
This is by far the best review of a car. You mentioned every single thing on this car, is just amazing. I feel I know the car already. The good the bad and potential to fix and to live with. ✨️ the best video.
I just bought an 18 Encore Premiere package. I was in a 17 Renegade. Maintenance issues were apparent at five years. The encore is quieter inside. I noticed the headrest, I’m going to try turning them around. I like to keep a lot in my ride, encase of emergency. I find the storage compartments useful and practical. I like that I inly I can reach a few items on my side. I am challenged as to where to out my phone. I feel I hit the stick when I drop it into the compartment in front. Perhaps a slim side pocket would be useful. Great Vid. I’m loving my Encore 😻
I just bought this car as a used vehicle, love it so far. I'm confused at this review though, some of the dislikes mentioned could have simply been available if you purchased the model with them (i.e. garage door opener, memory seat, blind spot indicator etc....) So they're not really dislikes, you just didn't purchase the model that has all those things 😬
Excellent review, with lots of detail about the driving experience. I have always found the Encore to be a very nice looking vehicle, but have never driven one.
Thank you for the insight I purchased my encore last august same year and model. I and love it we have some same dislike like that back seat not having usb, the arm rest and memory seating but over all it’s my first vehicle and I wouldn’t change it it’s a every day car for me I don’t need speed so thanks for the input I learned more about my car today
About that Navigation on the center display. That only works if you're using OnStar. It will not show anything if you're just using the built in Nav. I thought something wasn't configured right on mine until I read the owners manual and found out...
My Essence doesn't have autoliftgate either. Mines fully loaded. Got mine used with 49k miles a couple weeks ago. Seats are cracking but I'm taking good care of them (washing and conditioning every 3 weeks)
I love this review! I’m doing some car shopping now for used, I really like the Buick encore, but everyone is steering me towards getting the Toyota Camry or Toyota RAV4. The thing is the Toyotas are in such demand. The prices are too high and they’re hard to find. Can you please tell me for reliability and long lasting car would you vote Buick encore or Toyota Cam/RAV4?? thank you
And that little window-Ette in between driver side window and front windshield IS intact for visibility. I asked my dealer because I couldn’t top thinking about it. Lol
I definitely like the sport wheels.. many people would love to trade wheels with you.. ive got a very close car.. a black preferred. Ha! I never new they gave you a funnel by the spare tire! Yeah i agree on the flat black around the windows.. i No no sunroof is great.. the airflows so much better with the sunroof cracked.. it actually reduces noise when windows are open.. Instead of the armrest, if someome doesnt want to spend the money to buy one.. bring a pillow for the passenger to rest their arms on.
I just picked this car up as a rental and was looking for a review. Good job! Also weren't you the same guy that owned a Fiat in the past? Your voice sounds familiar.
i've never owned a gm car before and wondering about onstar. does onstar "talk" everytime the car is turned on? was thinking about buying a used 2018 buck encore, but don't really know what to expect out of the onstar system - how intrusive is it?
I wish I would have heard more about the reliability. I’m looking to buy a used compact suv. I have considered the Ford Escape which has a lot of tranny issues the Chevy trax which some people feel has a cheap feel & the encore which has gotten better reviews from my research.
Ford, Chevy, Buick... im sensing a pattern here... stop looking at cars made in Mexico and try something a little more American, like a Toyota or Hyundai that are made here in America. You'll get much better reliability.
I absolutely love mine, just got it and set it up to On star. As a drummer I can’t wait to lug my kits around with it. Question though, do you have any startup issues when placing the key in the transmitter pocket where it doesn’t turn on right away? Is that normal? Upgraded big time after using an old Honda CRV 07 after like 5 years 😅😅
I’m about to purchase a 2019 Encore and I’m conflicted. The vehicle currently has 20,000 miles. How many years/miles can I expect to get out of it? I’ve been hearing mixed things. Thank you! I’m currently driving a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek with 48,000 miles for reference.
I have a 21 encore preferred I bought new last year. I do notice two things. The mpg calculated on the dashboard is always over estimating by 1.5 to 2 mpg. On a positive note I've gotten as high as 35 mpg during summer interstate drives at 70 MPH and never less than 29 mpg during mostly city/suburban driving. These are calculate at fillups so I know they are accurate. The epa estimates are way lower. If you're heavy on the pedal and kick in the turbo alot those numbers will go down dramatically plus you'll probably wear out the turbo. I doubt the turbo in this car is designed for heavy use and abuse. Overall I'm very satisfied with this car and think it's underrated. The required maintenance is minimal and inexpensive. Too bad they've decided to discontinue after 22. Typical GM; they finally get it right (the first few years of encore had major issues) and then they move on to a new model. Will they ever learn from Honda and Toyota?
Glad I managed to snag one then, an 18 model, so nice, by any chance do you have problems with the estimated fuel reading being wayyy over in comparison to the gauge meter? I have it synced to the app and I don’t know which is more accurate, the app or the actual fuel gauge mileage remaining. Cause when it gets to about a quarter tank left it somehow still says I can get over 100 miles on the tank and I’m like NO WAY IN HELL so somethings off… maybe a sensor needs to be checked? Let me know!
@@GabrielXDrums My trim level doesnt have the estimated fuel remaining screen. I wouldn't trust the app any more than the gauge. It's getting info from the same sensors. Some of the tech that is put in cars these days is a waste.
@@jayo6725 seems like it, my coolant meter is panned HARD left and stuck on the C even tho I filled it last night with DEX COOL I happened to have stored. Ima take it Monday to Buick nearby like 5 mins from home so they can probably try and reset the sensor since I’m guessing that’s what’s going on, no engine light or nothing.
I would call them typical. I don't think they're spongy or grabby... If yours are spongy, it might be worth having them bleed them at a brake shop just to be safe.
I haven’t subscribed to onstar yet but will once it starts snowing. Mine does not beep when in reverse. I wish it did. It’s a nice additional safety feature b
Beeping in reverse is something required for Hybrid and EV vehicles due to the fact they reverse on electric engines and are usually dead-silent without the Beeping (which can be a danger). Gas-only vehicles don't require the Beeping because gas engines aren't silent!
Hi, why didnt you fold the front passenger seat all the way forward so u could fit the ladder on just one side of the car? Or maybe you didnt know it folded forward all the way down...thanks for the review.
I have a 2019 Buick Encore with 30,000 miles on it and the condenser needs to be replaced because it is leaking. The dealer wants $ 1,300 to fix it WOW!! CONDENSERS SHOULD LAST 10 TO 15 YEARS. ALSO, THE CONDENSER rubs against the head lite and I think that's the reason its leaking. Bad design!
Mine does too but it’s spontaneous when it does. I haven’t found a correlation to when it appears. I know I get freeze warnings too but that’s more obvious, haha.
