The bad drivers are always TX and FL. And they have the crazy shit, cars, etc. I would prefer if no one else comes here, and they are always the G.I. s who spend all their money on it, and buy stupid shit they don't need or understand. What he is talking about is exactly why to not move here. Leave us with what we love and you love Texas or whatever state and stop trying to turn us into you.
This unfortunately is mainly due to all the military bases. It is a fact that there is no national driving laws. Even though there are laws that are the same between States, every State has its own, especially when it comes to nuances like right-of-way. So you end up with larger number of daily drivers from all 50 states who can be relatively new to driving and each of them think that the way they learned to drive is the "right" way. Just be patient and stay safe out there. I love living in a military town, but it comes with some pitfalls.
As a Colorado Native, Don't come here! C-Springs use to be a secret until the military retired here. Stay away! Go back more than ten years and tell me different.
I’ve lived in Colorado Springs just about all my life and love it. I hope that all the haters will leave after watching this video so that it can go back to being great again. Let’s make Colorado Springs great again campaign!
One thing that was way different from Colorado Springs and every other place I lived is that the streets are weird hardly any straight roads no alleys through out the neighborhoods roads curve and some streets change name after certain streets
Ive lived in Colorado Springs since 1995, im only 36yrs old so this is the where i grew up, and after living here for several decades the one thing that i still absolutely hate and makes me wanted to move every year is the freaking WINTER I absolutely HATE the cold weather! Used to enjoy it a little bit more when I was in high school because I used to snowboard, but i haven't done that in years, i have kids abd a family i can't afford to break a leg trying hit the slopes!😂so, at this point, it's just a pain in the ass and super annoying!
Been living here since 2014. All your points are super valid. I will also add crime and homelessness has gotten considerably worse over the years (as most of the US) But still a long shot from Denver and most Texas cities. Not to mention home prices literally doubling in most areas since covid. We came here and started saving to buy a house when there was plenty of homes in the 200-250K, and right about the same time we were ready to apply covid hit and most homes are now 450k-500k (unless you want to live in the hood) We're now priced out and sadly will be leaving the state in a year or two. But if you can afford it , its a great place to live. And lastly , I know you didn't ask for this but I wanted to say the video is a bit heavy on the editing (all the extra snippets , comic relief etc...) You do you, but it felt like a lot of interruptions.
I have mixed emotions about this, I'm a native of Colorado Springs, I currently live in Colorado Springs, But I also lived in New York, Florida, Chicago, And California. So I definitely have things too compare this place to.. This is definitely not the biggest city or the most culturally diverse, I'm latino and white. So I have a bit of a different perspective then the majority. When we grow up, What I remember everybody was dressed up all the time with jewelry, And flashy cars, And I'm talking about latinos, whites and blacks, Smolens and Filipinos. My second car was A BMW M3 I was 19 years old..Most of us would get a haircut once a week. I'm a Barber by trade, I breed designer French bulldogs, And I race motorcycles, Snowboard, fly drones And skate And a bunch of other things, There's not a huge night life here but you can find stuff to do, I have a friend right now that goes out frequently, has fun and always find something to do, meats girls every time he goes out.. and Denver's an hour away just drive up there you could find anything you want.. The Olympic training center is in Colorado Springs, We have some of the best athletes on the planet that live in Colorado Springs, Michael Phelps Lived here for 10 years And I personally know a lot of them. Colorado Springs is a really cool place it's not slow. I know a good amount of people that don't really do outdoorsy type stuff and they're perfectly content, they find Things to do all the time.. If you're social you can link up with people that are gonna have fun all the time and not outdoors.. The weather is bipolar for sure, And there's not a lot of places to go out and eat good food. Other than that this place is awesome! There is a reason why people are moving here by the thousands. It was a low-key gem. Cats out of the bag now, And the stuff that made Colorado Springs Desirable, We're slowly losing that because it's getting overpopulated, The things that made it great are changing fast..
Just moved to Colorado Springs from TX & I'm loving this place! The people drive like animals but I can get around that.. Everyone I've met is so nice & very helpful. A great place & a bit expensive but everywhere is expensive nowadays. 🤟
I moved to South Carolina in December looking for better weather and I already want to return to Colorado Springs again... I'd rather deal with the bipolar weather of Colorado Spring than stay in South Carolina with the tons of problems here, starting with that the traffic lights don't work😔, people are very kind when they are not driving... when they are driving, they become fast and furious.🏎️😶🌫️.
1. The military thing is so spot on. Lived here since 91 and now my kids are in high school etc and during that time the staff from teachers to administration changed every single year. It however seems to be more prevalent in area codes that are close to military instillation (D49). I have new neighbors ALL the time in he Stetson Hills area and actually find it quite annoying. 2. The springs culture is absolutely a healthy lifestyle go run up bar trail every weekend type thing. If you don't like being active in nature but want to somewhat live in nature... go to Denver. The springs is not about night life what so ever (thankfully)... it's more of a small town feel that isnt a small town if that makes sense. 3. The people (the natives and people that have been here 20+ years) generally do NOT like or want others coming here. CO fashion is shorts in the winter and flannel. 4. Again spot on with the jobs VERY heavy on the defense contractors.... hope you have your Top Secret. 5. The weather part is great! I absolutely love having all four seasons (sometimes in one day!) I've seen it snow here in June and be summer like until thanksgiving. The snow in 95% of cases for the springs is nearly 100% gone from the roads within 24 hours (buy a south facing house unless you want snow in your yard for 3 months straight). I generally ignore weather reports until the night before.
Just came across your video. Seems like you are describing my home to a degree: San Antonio. We are very chill and big military presence. We get crazy wind and hail too. I keep my car in the garage during thunderstorms. The extreme heat here is no joke.
Sounds like you are describing summit county. I left summit county and am part time in the springs because there is so much non nature stuff to do in comparison to summit. Love having go karts and mini golf and other normal city stuff to do again.
I tease my wife about how this is like a white Atlanta.. There's definitely no culture for black people pretty much in the entire state what you feel to mention.. Don't be scared of RUclips demonitation keep it 100.. And they definitely don't have a lot of entertaining things to do except small little bars to drink at if you're an alcoholic... All this place seems to be to me is a real estate economic come up if you brought property in 2020 or earlier..
Hello- how much of a concern is crime? I have noticed over the last year or more (that I've been watching the News there), that a numerous amount of shootings and homicides (including a drive by 8 months ago) have occurred. One happened yesterday. What one considers high/low crime is relative to where they'd be moving from. That said, I'm in a state with moderate violent crime, yet a city with almost no crime (completely safe).
@@thecoloradospringslife I'd most likely be moving to a new property located near the power and Barnes intersection. I'm very fond of the north-colorado Springs area, but I would not be moving into that region as of now.
Powers and Barnes is solid place to live! New shops restaurants. Lots of new stuff people and the city is investing in this area so that’s a good thing!
@@thecoloradospringslife great to know! What a relief. But, how how do you view the crime over all, including yesterday's shooting? Is it a bit concerning for that area to experience such homicides and shootings in such a short amount of time (and increasing)?
Yeah, moved here a few years ago... Got into cycling this year. It's a good way to experience the city, but the lack of culture focused anything does take a toll on the wife and I.
Drivers in the springs are the absolute worst experience ever.

Dude Co springs is NOT a party place Miami!? Ahhh no. It’s a beautiful nature mountain place. It’s NATURE the reason you’re in the springs. Outdoorsy
Thanks for your comment! Glad you liked the video, dude!

lol! 😆
I live in SA too lol but about to relocate to CO for work.
I recently found out the springs is the hail capital of the United States. A garage or car cover is a must.
Lol, yes it’s nutz here!
Moved here at the beginning of the year haven’t had any hail I don’t think of
So true on all points! 😊
Colorado has over 48 prisons surrounding Colorado Springs Denver we have a lot of criminals and I mean a lot
I know I've down graded in fashion but you shouldn't be looking like the sewer people in the movie Demolition Man behind the counter.
Advice on neighborhoods to avoid with a budget of less than $250,000?
Powers blvd
In that price range... all of them...
After living in Denver for 28 years, moving here was a welcomed change.
Glad to hear that!

Right on! Glad it’s working out! 🤙🏽
