I love your journey and growth. My husband and I are leaving the city in 2 days, last summer we bought 100 acres and we are going to live in our RV while we are waiting for our farm and home to form. Thank again for sharing your lives.
We live in totally different worlds, the truth is that they will never be able to meet...this being said. You and your family are a absolute joy! I can not explain how much joy you bring by sharing your new life.
You guys are on such an amazing adventure. My family and I just started ours. Building a Homestead from scratch is hard and takes alot time. But with determination and a good plan, I have found, you can accomplish anything. Keep up the great work your doing. Great video thank you for sharing.
You guys!!!! I have no idea how I never saw this comment!!! Way to go and thanks for giving us a shoutout on your livestream!!!!! We've had a few people come over. THANK YOU!!!!!
This is the first time I watch your video and I think it's really down to earth and I really enjoy it. You really get into the details when it comes to homesteading.
This is so accurate! Thanks for bringing us on your journey 😊 I am doing one Joel Salatin style chicken tractor this summer...with a bit of blessing, after the first round of birds, sales will pay for two more rounds this summer and the "homestead" will begin to profit financially, in soil building, etc.
LOVE THIS!!!!! Absolutely! Have you read Joel’s book “Pastured Poultry for Profits”? Or it’s titled something like that. I hear it is phenomenal! I need to read it someday. 😁
It's funny, we love in Houston and I started looking into rabbits, which is where I found your channel. The dream is to one day have property, but my husband has to stay within a 30 mile radius of downtown for work. We are trying to use our suburban lot to build skills and grow for the day when we have the opportunity to go all in.
If you can build this much, grow this much and still can have a sustainable life with your family you don't have to rush anything, and be happy, it's not lazy, it's living the way you want it the way you want it at the pace you choose. You don't have to rush and living a hectic live all over again. Time flies very fast, don't let it passed without really living it. Enjoy your family more and don't let people judge you and determine your standard of living. It's your life. Always loved your video.
I’ve got the time and space to do things that most could only dream of having. I’m trying everything thing I can to get going, but I’m afraid I don’t use my opportunity very well and people who don’t have the time and space that I have are probably looking at me like I’m crazy! I’m giving it all I got, but could do a little better in certain areas to get it going!
People talk about a 9-5 job. The truth is, many have a 8-5 job which for me means up at 6:30 to bring kids to bus stops, get ready, drive to work, etc. Finish at 5pm, home at 5:30. Single mom, so making dinner and doing all the home duties. Time really is limited during the week. So a “9-5 job” is really just about an all-day job. But on the weekends, that’s the time for projects!
You are busting it!!!! What you do everyday matters, I promise! Proud of you for working so hard and then taking time for the weekends to get some projects done. Way to go!!!!
I don’t think being honest or real about the mess, or chaos during a project is the same as laziness. If y’all were lazy you would have sat on the land and not lived off of it. Nobody’s life is picture perfect and it’s wild that people think that’s real life!! I love that y’all are real. I love that y’all admit failures. I’m saving for a downpayment on my own homestead and y’all are becoming more and more of a “mentor” type of channel BECAUSE of the real ness. If y’all’s successes are laziness, I’m down to be a little lazy myself ❤️
Oh wow Andrea, THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!! Ok, I have to ask. What kind of content of ours do you like most? I am debating putting out more videos each week (2-3/wk) by really scaling down the editing time. More walking and talking type of videos. That way we can tell y’all more and more of what our homesteading life is like. Thank you again Andrea!!!
@@BetterTogetherLife man, I couldn’t say what I like the most because I enjoy variety. I’m doing what I can on the 1/4 acre I’m renting on in Dallas, but the amount that y’all share about the process of getting out of the “rat race” has been very interesting. Financing the dream of self sustainability can feel overwhelming when you’re looking at buying a piece of raw land and the realities of preparing it. Y’all’s informative videos are just as fun as a garden tour in the summer, or time lapses of rotational grazing. I’m patiently waiting for gardening season so I can see epic garden tours. I love it all ❤️
I will say, a walking around while talking tour of the homestead, or just a ‘follow along as I do my morning chores’ type of deal would be great! There’s probably a lot more going on than y’all have time to share, but I appreciate all of it.
Great content! The pandemic was a blessing to us and many others as hundreds of thousands of folks became full time telecommuters. Being able to move to the country and still keep a city job (for now) enables much more progress, faster. It also depends on your age and stage of life. My advice to others thinking about it is to purchase land early in the process then use it for all recreation and family vacations. The money you save can go to pay down the land as the value rises. This helps cover your new home down payment when you build. Granted, it is not what “most” folks do and it doesn’t happen overnight, but after a few years it makes the move much easier financially. Worked for our family!
Well, I’m fairness to them. It is electric. My favorite is that we can usually use a white, thin rope when we run out of electric tape and they still honor that boundary.
This is AWESOME William, let’s work through this together and I am sure it will be very helpful for many. Will you comment back and forth with me? 1) What are the top 3 productive things that you do with all of your free time? 2) What are the top 3 LEAST productive things that you do with your free time? I’d love to help you work through this. 😁😁😁
@@BetterTogetherLife you see I only get SSI and I am a disability but I have done more in the last year then a lot of rich people have in the last 3 years
Ok so this is AWESOME!!! So your only source of income is SS and disability, is that correct? I assume that with your disability you aren’t allowed to make income, or else you’d lose your disability. Is that correct? In that case…..I’d start a “RUclips hobby”!! Use all of that free time you have to start a NON MONETIZED RUclips channel. Post everyday and learn to get better and better. Grow it to 50-100k subscribers….. and then turn on the monetization. And BAM! You’ll be making more money through RUclips that you get from the government. Super easy! 😁👍🏻
Time is not the issue for me. Getting my spouse on board to homesteading and finding land we can afford are my two issues. So, I really guess those are my two issues-----any help for those two issues????????

Haha, to be fair that comment WAS said back in 2019 on our channel. So I guess we weren’t doing quite as much. 🤣🤣 But yup, having a milk cow is a TON of work! But wow so so rewarding!!
We have to discover the answer for ourselves, so we can own IT, and protect IT, and find the WHY. Just like we have to do the same with our relationship with the God of our choice. And once we start that journey we will be TESTED.........., not to see if we fail, we will but to see if we have the character (God likeness in us to create) to get up and keep going.

That’s AMAZING, Shamika! Congratulations! So excited for this new season for y’all!
This is AMAZING!!! Wow, way to go!!! 100 acres is A LOT of land!! You’ll be able to do anything you ever want!
I’m excited to hear this as well but please let us know what your plan is for maintaining 100 acres.
