Sorry I haven't subscribed earlier. I'm an active duty military guy from OK, and you're living my dream. I have 4 kiddos as well and man I gotta tell ya, this is my retirement dream. Only a few years left!
First thanks for your service. I retired from the Navy in 95 and wish I had done something like that then. Don't hesitate, get going while your kids are young. Good luck, Mike from Maine.
Love how you just improvise and adapt…we have done the same. I would love to have a barn but in Georgia,it’s not absolutely necessary. We have built nice pens. Our quail pen we used a dog pen that someone didn’t want and gave to us. Put a roof and wrapped it up with chicken wire. Tarp in the winter to block wind and winter weather. Then summer it’s more open.
Thanks for this video! We've been building our house and trying to build the homestead at the same time and IT IS ADDING UP! We want to build a barn, get a tractor, a skid loader, barns, fencing and so many other tools but we have to be patient.
Work with what you have! Love that saying. A shelter is a shelter...the cows don't know the difference. Hope you boys are feeling better soon. So much crap going around. Rest up! Greetings from Wisconsin. Karen 🙂
I would rather milking milk every morning rather than drive to the store, parking and walking to the grocery store to get milk. And can do it together with your love one, that's a bonus. Love your video like always.
Hope you get to feeling better Battle. I got sick while being outside cutting and splitting wood, I think it was an allergy reaction to something in the cold air. I live in the Texas Hill Country also, so maybe it was the cedar. I cleared all the cedar on my land, but there's tons of it around the area.
Need a barn if you in the northern states no way around it!! 40 below temps where I am and I wont Skimp on barn, where I live you must make sure it is heated barn at that!!!! Shalom 🕊💖✨👑💛✨
Absolutely! I think I say that in the video. I think. But yes, down here in Texas it’s not completely necessary. But up north that would be deadly without a barn. Probably similar to us down here not giving our cows access to shade during the hottest days of the year.

Sometimes, things have to wait, due to many reasons. There are limits to everything and every person. Keep growing and God bless you and your family.
Absolutely!!
